leads it to spin a home for stasis (known as a cocoon). After transforming, Butterfly
is reborn as various beautiful colored winged creatures of the air.

This insect is extremely sensitive to the Harmony of Earth, and is the first
creature to leave a damaged ecology. Butterfly's graceful dancing-like appearance
on flowers reminds us to find the joy in nature and make it a part of our life.

Butterfly enters our life as a messenger for change. If it comes to us hurt or ill,
Butterfly asks us to stop keeping our joy at bay. It may take some time being alone
with ourselves to listen to Butterfly's gentle requests that we allow the natural
transformation of things in our lives.

<clipSource>http://www.animaltotem.com/butterfly.html</clipSource>

Adopt A Scientist Program

clipped by: tabsey
clipper's remarks: If you can afford to be involved , it could be fun, oh, and educational.

Clip Source: www.seti.org

Anyone can adopt a SETI Institute scientist and become part of the adventure!

Each of our scientists offers a compelling journey of discovery. When you adopt a scientist, you help lead the way towards answering profound questions regarding our place in the universe.

The SETI Institute’s Carl Sagan Center for the Study of Life in the Universe and Center for SETI Research are home to more than 90 scientists. Their work covers a broad spectrum of research dedicated to understanding the origins of life and the extent to which life may be present beyond Earth. Traditionally, each scientist, or principal investigator (PI), has had many partners who sponsor his/her work including NASA, the National Science Foundation, and major universities. However, current trends in government funding are making it increasingly difficult for astrobiologists to depend on those sources of support.

Tags: science, is, expensive

<clipSource>http://www.seti.org/AdoptAScientist/</clipSource>

George Carlin quote

clipped by: tansu

Clip Source: blogzarro.com

The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get at the end of it? A Death! What’s that, a bonus? I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first, get it out of the way. Then you live in an old age home. You get kicked out when you’re too young, you get a gold watch, you go to work. You work forty years until you’re young enough to enjoy your retirement. You do drugs, alcohol, you party, you get ready for high school. You go to grade school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a little baby, you go back into the womb, you spend your last nine months floating…

…and you finish off as an orgasm.”

<clipSource>http://blogzarro.com/?p=226</clipSource>

80 How-To Sites Worth Bookmarking

clipped by: Djiezes

Clip Source: www.lifehack.org

80 How-To Sites Worth Bookmarking

Every How-To They Can Get Their Hands On

Make Magazine’s Blog

The core American idea is the "pursuit of happiness," which means that happiness is not a guarantee, but that you have a chance to find it for yourself. No wonder that so many young people throughout the world are magnetically attracted to what America represents: they find irresistible the prospect of being in the driver's seat of their lives. So, too, the immigrant discovers that America permits him to break free of the constraints that have held him captive, so that the future becomes a landscape of his own choosing. It's not to hard of a song because most of the chord changes are pretty easy. I still play it a little slower than the original version but i'm sure in time i'll get up to speed. If you can learn to play this one then it's almost the same for the song Every Rose Has its Thorn by Poison. Even a beginner like me can learn these two fairly well.

Posted at 12:03 PM | Permalink

Technorati Tags: by, Every, green day, Has, its, life, of, Poison, Rose, Thorn, time, your

Tags: every, green day, has, its, life, of, rose, thorn, time, your

<clipSource>http://harborfi.typepad.com/franks_guitar/2008/07/working-on-gree.html</clipSource>

Unintelligent Design

clipped by: Mohir
clipper's remarks: At this point, 30 years after the Nobel Laureate Daniel Kahneman and his late collaborator Amos Tversky started documenting a rash of fallacies in human reasoning, the idea that the human mind would be "perfect in His image" is as outdated (and narcissistic) as the idea that the solar system would revolve around the planet earth.
The only theory that can really make sense of these needless imperfections is Darwin's theory of natural selection, which holds that humans (and all other life forms) evolve through a blind process known as descent-with-modification, in which new life forms represent random modifications of earlier life forms -- with no central overseer to guide the process. Such a random process can, over time, lead populations of creatures to become more adapted to their environment, but it is also vulnerable to getting stuck, in the sort of good-enough-but-not-perfect solutions that mathematicians call local maxima.

Clip Source: www.huffingtonpost.com

Lost amid all the recent discussions of intelligent design -- including Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal's decision this past Friday to sign a bill that allows teachers in his state to "supplement" classes on evolution with talk of creationism -- is one simple basic fact. The human species isn't intelligently designed.

When you get right down to it, from an engineering perspective, the design of the human mind (and for the matter the human body) is a bit of mess.

Take, for instance, human memory, and the trouble we often have in remembering even the most basic facts -- where did we put our keys? Where did we park our car? Because our brains so often blur our memories together. Human eyewitness testimony is often no match for even a low-rent survelllance camera, and memory can fail even in life-or-death circumstances. (6% of all skydiving fatalities, for instance, are from divers that forgot to pull their ripcords),

Tags: evolution, creationism, intelligent design

<clipSource>http://www.huffingtonpost.com/gary-marcus/unintelligent-design_b_110082.html</clipSource>

8 Destructive thinking patterns

clipped by: tidbit2
clipper's remarks: To change your thinking pattern you have to

Recognise
Be aware
Slowly change and introduce a new thinking pattern
Keep working on all your destructive thinking patterns

Change your life with your new way of thinking

Clip Source: www.stevenaitchison.co.uk

extremely difficult to focus on the good when, seemingly, bad things are happening in your life.
