She's not just a winker, she's a twinkler. And a champion smile-talker. She would flash that same smile even if she were telling you that she'd just burned down your house. What other expressions can she do? Libby Copeland had a great line in her deconstruction of Palin's expressiveness: "Palin is all emoticons."

A gaffe-free night for Biden is like Lucy letting Charlie Brown kick the football: We didn't think we'd ever see it.

One moment jumped out: After Biden choked up, talking about not knowing if a child would make it, Palin didn't react at all -- as if she weren't even listening to him. Warm-and-fuzzy Palin seemed suddenly rather Arctic.

I also wondered about Palin's comment on the constitutional role of the vice president. In common practice, as I understand it, the vice president doesn't go anywhere near the Senate except to break a tie vote on an important bill. Here's what Palin said:

Tags: palin, biden, debate, blog

<clipSource>http://voices.washingtonpost.com/achenblog/2008/10/sarah_palin_serial_winker.html</clipSource>

Shooting From the Hip, With a Smile to Boot

clipped by: RayWatkins
clipper's remarks:
BY LIBBY COPELAND - WASHINGTON POST STAFF WRITER | WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2008

Clip Source: www.washingtonpost.com

Wait, did you see that? Mute your TV and just watch that face. How often do you see someone in political life so extravagantly expressive? The eyebrows go up, the shoulder leans in, the thumb jauntily gestures backward, the tongue actually fixes in the cheek. To mock Barack Obama, she licks her finger and holds it to the imaginary wind! And that smile, that nearly ever-present smile, which either indicates -- oh, dear, here we go again -- that she's sarcastic and dismissive or that she's letting you in on a very clever joke.

<clipSource>http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/artsandliving/style/features/2008/rhetoric/gallery.html</clipSource>

07/08 Jammers 13 Red

clipped by: crossett10

Clip Source: 74.125.45.104

13 Red

They also collected around 100 small organisms called isopods that are believed to be new to science. Some isopods are parasites and burrow into fishes' mouths and nibble their tongues away.

The expeditions, which are part of a four-year effort to build up a detailed picture of marine life around the sites, will feed into a global census that will release its first report in 2010.

<div border="2" style="margin-top: 10px; border:#000000 1px solid;" New Democratic Party Deputy House Leader Libby Davies delivers a Parliamentary Petition signed by over 500 Canadians demanding a new 9/11 investigation, in Canada's House of Commons during Routine Proceedings at 1:10 pm on June 10, 2008

<clipSource>http://www.brasschecktv.com/page/351.html</clipSource>

"The 9/11 Report is a fraudulent document"

clipped by: papananook
clipper's remarks: We further believe that elements within the US government were complicit in the murder of thousands of people on 9/11/2001. This event brought Canada into the so-called "War on Terror," it changed our domestic and foreign policies for the worse, and it will continue to have negative consequences for us all if we refuse to look at the facts.

THEREFORE, your petitioners call upon Parliament to:

(1) Immediately launch its own investigation into the events of 9/11/2001 on behalf of the 24 Canadian citizens murdered in New York City.

(2) Act lawfully on the findings of its own investigation by helping to pursue the guilty parties in the international courts.

Committed to truth and accountability

vancouver911truth.org

Clip Source: www.brasschecktv.com

We, the undersigned citizens of Canada draw the attention of the House to the following:

THAT, scientific and eyewitness evidence shows that the 9/11 Commission Report is a fraudulent document and that those behind the report are consciously or unconsciously guilty of covering up what happened on 9/11/2001. This evidence overwhelmingly supports the conclusion that World Trade Center Towers 1, 2 and 7 were brought down by demolition explosives and that the official theory of the towers collapsing from the airplanes and the ensuing fires is irrefutably false.

<clipSource>http://www.brasschecktv.com/page/351.html</clipSource>

Dept. of You Can't Make this $%&! And please spare me the "Armitage said it first!" bull. Just because somebody commits a crime does not open the way for others. Armitage cooperated with investigators, Rove and Libby obstructed justice.

Clip Source: www.crooksandliars.com

Sometimes, the irony is so overwhelming, I have to wonder if it’s some kind of satirical performance art, and I’m just not in on the joke. Consider this fascinating exchange between Bill O’Reilly and Karl Rove on Fox News last night:

There are two key angles to this. First, the NYT article did, in fact, identify the CIA interrogator who questioned Khalid Shaikh Mohammed. The article characterizes him as one of the good guys, gaining information through non-abusive means. Indeed, the interrogator, who refused training on how to waterboard a detainee, established a rapport with the terrorist — which “astonished his fellow C.I.A. officers” — by talking and bringing KSM food. The article, in other words, wasn’t a slam job.

But for Karl Rove to have the chutzpah to lambaste the Times for this is extraordinary.

Tags: rove, s#&!, liar, criminal, stupidity

<clipSource>http://www.crooksandliars.com/2008/06/25/karl-rove-lashes-out-at-nyt-for-identifying-cia-agent/</clipSource>

So many question,so few answers...

clipped by: LoPhatt
clipper's remarks: How can you pin the tail on the donkey if no one wants to play?

Clip Source: rawstory.com

Dem Rep. calls for impeachment at McClellan testimony: video

<//EMBED>
Download video

Wexler closed by thundering: "The vice president's own hand betrays him, and Libby, and implicates the President of the United States. Bush administration when Defense Department staffers Paul Wolfowitz, I. Lewis Libby and Zalmay Khalilzad, acting under then-Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney, drafted the Defense Planning Guidance (DPG). This document, also known as the “Wolfowitz Doctrine,” was an unofficial, internal document that advocated massive increases in defense spending for purposes of strategic proliferation and buildup of the military in order to establish the pre-eminence of the United States as the world’s sole superpower. Advocating pre-emptive attacks with nuclear, chemical or biological weapons, it proclaimed that “the U.S. must show the leadership necessary to establish and protect a new order that holds the promise of convincing potential competitors that they need not aspire to a greater role or pursue a more aggressive posture to protect their legitimate interests.”

Clip Source: www.truthdig.com

John McCain’s Chilling Project for America

John McCain has long been a major player in a radical militaristic group driven by an ideology of global expansionism and dominance attained through perpetual, pre-emptive, unilateral, multiple wars. The credo of this group is “the end justifies the means,” and the end of establishing the United States as the world’s sole superpower justifies, in its estimation, anything from military control over the information on the Internet to the use of genocidal biological weapons. Over its two terms, the George W. Bush administration has planted the seeds for this geopolitical master plan, and now appears to be counting on the McCain administration, if one comes to power, to nurture it.

John McCain’s connection to PNAC can be traced back to before its formation in 1997. In fact, he was president of the New Citizenship Project, founded by Kristol in 1994. This organization was parent to PNAC, and served as its chief fundraising organ.
