Quatorze personnes bénéficient quotidiennement d'hébergement d'urgence à Val-d'Or. Ces statistiques ont été recueillies par La Piaule de Val-d'Or, organisme venant en aide aux personnes aux prises avec des problèmes de dépendance. «Ce nombre peut paraître faible à première vue. Pourtant, si on le met en proportion avec les populations de l'île de Montréal ou du Montréal métropolitain, cela voudrait dire que 706 personnes auraient besoin d'un hébergement d'urgence par jour (île de Montréal) ou 1584 personnes auraient besoin d'un tel service quotidien pour le Montréal métropolitain», stipule l'étude Grenier-Morin.

Le coût moyen des logements à Val-d'Or a augmenté en flèche au cours des dernières années, alors que plusieurs de ces loyers auraient besoin de réparations ou de rénovations. Cette situation permet de penser que certains propriétaires abusent de la crise du logement qui sévit actuellement dans la Vallée-de-l'Or.

C'est ce que révèle l'étude réalisée par Stéphane Grenier, professeur et responsable de la maîtrise en travail social à l'UQAT, et Stéphanie Morin, étudiante en travail social à l'UQAT, pour le compte de l'organisme Val-d'Or ville en santé (VVS). Les résultats de cette étude ont été dévoilés le 27 avril, lors d'un Forum sur le logement à l'UQAT campus de Val-d'Or.

Selon l'étude, la crise provoque entre autres un arrêt de la rénovation des loyers locatifs, ce qui fait que le parc immobilier subit graduellement une dégradation.

MEPs attempt to block Le Pen from becoming parliament 'father'

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS - Leading MEP Martin Schulz has called for the EU assembly's internal rules to be changed to prevent it from the potential embarrassment of having its July inaugural session opened by someone who has minimised the Holocaust.

"It is not imperative that the oldest MEP presides over the inaugural session," said the German MEP, who suggested that the situation would be "unacceptable."

Under the European Parliament's rules, the oldest euro-deputy opens the inaugural session of the new legislature, this year set to take place 14 July.

This time, the job is set to fall to Jean-Marie Le Pen, the leader of France's far-right National Front, who has in the past described Auschwitz as a "detail of history." Mr Le Pen, an MEP since 1984, will turn 81 after the June European elections and is almost sure to be re-elected.

Cunostintele de baza in domeniul tenisului le detinea Razvan Ciobanu, care practicase tenis de performanta si care a fost si antrenor timp de doi ani in Germania.

Astfel, antreprenorii s-au implicat direct in promovarea clubului, din lipsa de fonduri pen-tru a apela la o agentie specializata care sa rea-lizeze o campanie pu-blicitara. "Am tiparit flyere si le-am distribuit prin scoli, la semafoare sau in supermarketuri", a explicat fondatoarea Emilia Mihalache.

Clientii clubului de tenis au varsta cuprinsa intre 4 si 20 de ani, datorita faptului ca exista parinti care isi trimit copiii la cluburi de sport pentru a le ocupa timpul liber. "Multi dintre acesti copii, care la inceput joaca de placere, pe parcurs tind sa practice tenisul de performanta", a adaugat asociata clubului.

The process of redefinition and cultural influence has been going on in Europe for centuries. Short-sighted people like Le Pen are not just foolish for wanting to stop it, but for even thinking they can.

A culture cannot isolate itself from the world. This was true during the Medieval Crusades, and it is even more true today.

Immigration is the fundamental nature of man. Isolation is the basic reaction of the ignorant and fearful.

Of course, Europe has never been bashful about imposing its culture over local cultures around the world. Could the immigration debate be a vestigial reflex of imperialism?

Paris (dpa) - Nach einer letzten Umfrage vor der französischen Präsidentenwahl haben der Konservative Nicolas Sarkozy und die Sozialistin Ségolène Royal die besten Chancen, in die Stichwahl zu kommen. Danach würde Royal im ersten Wahlgang morgen 25,5 und Sarkozy 26,5 Prozent erhalten. Vor den Zentrumspolitiker François Bayrou hat sich der rechtsextreme Jean-Marie Le Pen an die dritte Stelle geschoben. Für die Stichwahl am 6. Mai wurde weiterhin ein Kopf-an-Kopf-Rennen zwischen Sarkozy und Royal vorausgesagt.

L'institut 3C Etudes donne Ségolène Royal à 32%, devant Nicolas Sarkozy (29), François Bayrou (18), Jean-Marie Le Pen (5), Olivier Besancenot (5).

- Enquête 3C Etudes en cours de réalisation par téléphone auprès d'un échantillon de 1000 personnes, représentatif de la population française de France métropolitaine âgée de 18 ans et plus. Méthode des quotas (sexe, âge, PCS, région). Dates de passation : 18, 19 et 20 avril 2007.

Une source anonyme des renseignements généraux affirme, selon le site internet du nouvel observateur, que Ségolène Royal est légèrement distancée et qu’elle pourrait revenir dans la course à tout moment.

D’après cette même source, nul n’aurait intérêt à révéler ce sondage car il pourrait d’abord inciter les 42% d’indécis à pencher en faveur de la candidate du PS, mais aussi et surtout, parce que depuis le 15 juillet 2004, les renseignements généraux français n’ont plus le droit de se livrer à des prévisions électorales.

Contrairement aux instituts de sondage privés, l’enquête des RG montrait la présence de Jean-Marie le Pen au deuxième tour.

Cette fois pourtant, on ne peut plus rester sans le dire. Oui, Nicolas Sarkozy est dangereux. Parce que le candidat de l'UMP à l'Elysée a franchi la ligne rouge. Ses propos sur le caractère inné de la pédophilie ou de la tendance suicidaire bouleversent tous les principes de l'humanisme.

« Prendre des voix au Front national, est-ce mal ? », interroge Nicolas Sarkozy. Non, bien sûr, au contraire. Mais à condition de ne pas séduire ses électeurs avec les mêmes mots. Au soir du premier tour, le candidat de l'UMP se félicitera peut-être d'avoir asséché le terreau électoral de Jean-Marie Le Pen. Mais à quel prix ? Celui, affolant, d'une lepénisation des esprits.

Cela a été bidon. Entièrement artificiel. Monté, comme 1968, par le jeu des médias. Une mousse médiatique. Il y a eu 50000 morveux contents de sortir dans la rue encadrés par leurs profs pour crier "Le Pen à mort", "A mort Le Pen"… Cela s'est traduit dans les urnes par le score de Jacques Chirac.

une dérive de l'exercice politique dans cette campagne électorale, chacun se conduisant comme si on s'était rallié à la conception américaine de la présidence

que les Français sachent qu'ils ne choisissent pas un programme politique à l'élection présidentielle. Ils choisissent une personnalité qui sera l'incarnation provisoire de l'Etat
