Ufology and philately share at least one thing: a passion for collecting, whether it be news clippings on unexplained cases or first day covers. From the mid-1970s onwards ufologists have had plenty of opportunities to combine these passions in the form of flying-saucer stamps.

In the latest issue of Fortean Times, Luis R Gonzalez Manso presents a fascinating collection of such stamps. There were many images that we weren't able to include in the magazine, along with stamps with a general Fortean theme, so here are a few extras that we liked!

Komi Afeto first met the 15-year-old Suffolk County girl a few years ago at a soccer camp the girl attended when she was 10 years old, according to Suffolk police.

Afeto, 33, who was the coach of the women's soccer team at Suffolk County Community College last year and has coached numerous other Long Island youth soccer teams, took an immediate liking to the girl, police said. But they had lost touch until the two ran into each other in January at another soccer event.

Afeto was on his way to another encounter with the girl, police said, when they arrested him Wednesday. He is charged with criminal sexual act, endangering the welfare of a child, and two counts of sexual abuse.

Afeto's relationship with the girl, whom police declined to identify, was discovered Tuesday through his part-time job at KK Athletics, an indoor soccer arena in Farmingville, officers said.
