But this? They let this guy be the lead Democratic Chairman on the Homeland (Security) and Government Affairs Committee?

They let him sit on other committees?

They let him caucus and vote on Democratic Party issues?

He keeps other privileges of seniority? And he supports the other party's candidate for president and mocks Obama!?

I can only conclude they are wimps or more whipped by the Israeli lobby than I thought possible. Or both.

Really...would this be tolerated in any other political party in the world?

Consequences

Bush continues to push for an attack on Iran.

He is goaded by the Israeli War Lobby, the "religious" right, and other assorted domestic fascists and lunatics.

Iran is not Iraq.

Iran is a bigger country, a better armed country and a much more socially cohesive country than Iraq ever was - or could be.

McCain is all for it. He can't wait. Obama is being artfully vague about his intentions.

And then there's Bush and Cheney. They still have nearly six months left to put the final bullet in the back of America's head before they go.

A former revolutionary guard, a high ranking Iranian diplomat, and now a senior fellow at Harvard, "Professor" Maleki, is a prominent figure of the Mullahs lobby in the US.

In a series of articles and speeches in Tehran, Maleki has recently elaborated on "how to combat the US". He argues that the best means of countering the US pressure on Iran with respect to the nuclear issue is the use of "soft diplomacy", which according to him is to mount a large scale PR campaign. In the early 1990s, a chance meeting between Mr. Barenboim and the late Palestinian-born writer and Columbia University professor Edward Said in a London hotel lobby led to an intensive friendship that has had both political and musical repercussions. These two men, who should have been poles apart politically, discovered in that first meeting, which lasted for hours, that they had similar visions of Israeli/Palestinian possible future cooperation. They decided to continue their dialogue and to collaborate on musical events to further their shared vision of peaceful co-existence in the Middle East. This led to Mr. Barenboim's first concert on the West Bank, a piano recital at the Palestinian Birzeit University in February 1999, and to a workshop for young musicians from the Middle East that took place in Weimar, Germany, in August 1999.

Said passed away in 2003 but his partnership with Daniel Barenboim lives on through

projects targeted at young Arabs and Israelis.
