Open-borders groups have sought to marginalize, criminalize, and demonize those of us who have raised our voices for years about lax immigration enforcement " and to impose an Orwellian Fairness Doctrine-style policy on illegal alien amnesty opponents. During the presidential campaign, the National Council of La Raza launched a “We Can Stop the Hate” project to redefine tough policy criticism from the Right as “hate.”

Unsurprisingly, far Left billionaire George Soros’s money is backing the “So We Might See”/National Hispanic Media Coalition effort. And remember that the Soros-funded Center for American Progress has provided the Obama White House with its Fairness Doctrine-embracing “diversity czar,” Mark Lloyd.

Jeffrey Lord, who happens to belong to the United Church of Christ, reported in the American Spectator that not long after that speech, the UCC sent out a mass e-mail to its millions of members urging them.......

The war on conservative speech has moved from the White House to your neighborhood pews. Left-wing church leaders want the Federal Communications Commission to crack down on “hate speech” over cable TV and right-leaning talk radio airwaves. President Obama’s speech-stifling bureaucrats seem all too happy to oblige.

The “interfaith coalition for media justice” is led by the United Church of Christ. Yes, that’s the same church of Obama’s race-baiting, Jew-bashing ex-pastor Jeremiah Wright. Other members include the Presbyterian News Service, the Evangelical Lutheran Church, and the National Council of Churches. (The US Conference of Catholic Bishops has denied being a part of the campaign, despite being listed as a coalition member. So has the Methodist church.) These religious liberals have partnered with the National Hispanic Media Coalition, which filed a petition in January demanding that the FCC collect data, seek public comment, and “explore options” for combating “hate speech”

OSLO — Activists from Colombia, Jordan and Afghanistan working to resolve armed conflicts and a Chinese dissident are at the center of speculation as contenders for this year's Nobel Peace Prize.

British bookmaker Ladbrokes and its Irish counterpart, PaddyPower, give the best odds to imprisoned Chinese dissident Hu Jia, Colombian Senator Piedad Cordoba, Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad of Jordan, and Afghan women's rights activist Sima Samar.

Cordoba, who leads Colombians for Peace, an organization whose aim is to facilitate peace negotiations between the government and the country's leftist FARC guerrillas.

Harpviken also mentioned bin Muhammad, a philosophy professor in Jordan who advocates interfaith dialogue in the Middle East

In his 1895 will, Alfred Nobel stipulated that the peace prize should go "to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between the nations and the abolition or reduction of standing armies and the formation and spreading of peace congresses

Chinese Human Rights Activist Hu Jia - imprisoned for campaigning for human rights in the PRC, not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama.

Wei Jingsheng, who spent 17 years in Chinese prisons for urging reforms of China's communist system. -- not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama. (Not to mention the symbolic value of awarding a Chinese dissident on the 20th Anniversary of the Tianenmen Square Massacre.)

Greg Mortenson, founder of the Central Asia Institute has built nearly 80 schools, especially for girls, in remote areas of northern Pakistan and Afghanistan over the past 15 years - not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama.

Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, a philosophy professor in Jordan who risks his life by advocating interfaith dialogue between Jews and Muslims, also not as worthy as Barack Hussein Obama.

9-11: The Desecration

Add another Obama insult to injury on 9-11. First, he desecrated the memory of 9-11 with his planned proclamation of his mandatory civilian service on 9-11, which he has designated a "National Day of Service."

And now 9-11 has yet another title: State Department personnel are supposed to pray with Muslims on the newly declared "Interfaith Day of Service," whatever that means on 9-11.

an unclassified State Department "action request" encourages State officials to "consider organizing an Interfaith Day of Service in their host countries as a way to commemorate the anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001."

The action request asks State personnel to support mosques: "Organize a food-drive for the end of Ramadan with religious leaders and citizens in Muslim communities to donate to a local mosque or community..." And it directs State personnel to a handy "list of Ramadan 2009 outreach materials for Muslim communities."

Books preaching interfaith good will and reconciliation, of course, are not new. But when Mr. Siljander's work wins the enthusiastic pre-publication praise of former U.S. Attorney General Edwin Meese of the Heritage Foundation, former Secretary of State James A. Baker III and Ban Ki-moon, the secretary-general of the United Nations, it is clear that something exceptional has appeared. Mr. Siljander, a Reagan Republican, devout Christian, former Evangelical and former House member from Michigan, does not disappoint. A good and extraordinary man has written a quite extraordinarily good book.

The two great Protestant nations, the United States and the United Kingdom, have lost their moorings and drifted into political correctness with interfaith and multi-cultural confusion. British and American Christians need to faithfully pray that we “go back to the old paths where is the good way and walk therein”—i.e., back to the Bible. However, more “modernising” with increasing depravity and corruption are very much more likely. We need to “fight the good fight” and “earnestly contend for the faith once given to the saints.”

Der Prozess hat noch nicht die ganze muslimische religiöse Führung erreicht. Die zunehmende Stärke des Islam als wichtige politische Macht hat eine gewisse Differenzierung zwischen den Positionen der muslimischen Staaten und ihren geistigen Führern geschaffen. Neben Ausdrücken des Hasses, einige davon ausgesprochen antisemitisch , beginnt die erste Saat der Akzeptanz von Israels Existenz und der Wunsch der Versöhnung unter den geistigen Führern zu wachsen.

Diese Stimme wurde laut und deutlich bei den Interfaith-Konferenzen mit geistlichen und pädagogischen Führern bei mutigen und intensiven Programmen gehört – ja sogar bei einigen religiösen Verfügungen

The writer of the following article is a member of the Culver City Area Interfaith Alliance. While serving as the secretary of that organization, she has never written about the purchase of patron saint medals.

Neither has she written about any government objection to the sale within Culver City of patron saint medals. Indeed, a store not far from the writer sells literature about Catholic theology and about the various patron saints. For some reason, that same bookstore has been overlooked by a man who loves books, a man who was recently among the many candidates for the City Council.

Christians Join Pagans And Humanists To Open Woodland Burial Site

Leaders of 11 faiths travelled to Beaconsfield to dedicate the largest woodland burial park in the country yesterday.
Set in ancient woodlands off the A40, the £3.2 million Chilterns Woodland Burial Park at Potkiln Lane opened in October and so far around 40 people are buried there.

The service was opened by Bishop of Buckinghamshire Rev Allan Wilson who said he was struck by how much nicer it would be to attend a service in a woodland setting than in a crematorium "with terylene curtains."

Also speaking were Father Francis Higgins of St Teresa's Church Beaconsfield and Professor Ann Floyd of Jordans Quakers, along with a Rabbi from Harlow, a Hindu leader from Watford, a Pagan, a humanist, a Buddhist, and a Reverend from the Interfaith Ministry which "embraces the universal truth at the heart of all religions."

Two months ago, Mark Thompson, the director general of the BBC, made a short trip from the Beeb's headquarters in Shepherd's Bush to Lambeth Palace for a private meeting with the Archbishop of Canterbury. Rowan Williams had a blunt message to deliver: the "Christian voice", the Archbishop suggested, risked being "sidelined" by the BBC and Mr Thompson needed to do something about it.

At the time there was increasing speculation over who would become the corporation's new head of religious programming. With one exception (the appointment of an agnostic, Alan Bookbinder, in 2001) the BBC's head of religion had always professed a Christian faith. But this time executives at the corporation – once famously described as being "hideously white" – were considering a radical departure from their usual tack.

A leading Palestinian cleric commandeered an evening devoted to interfaith dialogue with Pope Benedict XVI on Monday to rant against Israel for "killing Gaza's children," "bulldozing Palestinian homes" and "destroying mosques."

In an impromptu speech, delivered in Arabic at the Notre Dame Pontifical Institute in Jerusalem, Sheikh Tayseer Tamimi, chief Islamic judge in the Palestinian Authority, launched a 10-minute tirade against the State of Israel for confiscating Palestinians' land and carrying out war crimes against the residents of Gaza.

He also called for the immediate return of all Palestinian refugees, and called on Christians and Muslims to unite against Israel.

Following the diatribe and before the meeting was officially over, the pope exited the premises. However, he shook Tamimi's hand before walking out.

The pope, speaking before Tamimi, discussed the importance of religion and truth for the advancement of humanity's mutual understanding.

the breadth of information the poll provides is highlighted by the fact that the Guardian could report it under the headline "Muslims in Britain have zero tolerance of homosexuality, says poll", while The Times ran with "British Muslims have more faith in UK than Britons, study finds

So what did the poll show?

did indeed find that on issues of gender and sexuality, the Muslims polled in Britain were far less liberal than non-Muslims, as well as less liberal than their counterparts in France and Germany

At the same time

British Muslims

identify more with Britain and have more confidence in its institutions than the non-Muslim majority

some worrying statistics on the social and economic well-being of Britain's Muslim population
