Wanted: The teen girl muggers who punched a two-year-old toddler in the head

A two-year-old girl was punched in the head by muggers who demanded money from her mother.

The 23-year-old victim was shopping with her daughter in Wembley, north-west London, when a pair of girls tried to rob her.

The attackers, who Scotland Yard said were thought to be in their teens, hit the mother on the arm before punching the toddler in the head. None of the victim's belongings were taken.

Detective Inspector Rebecca Reeves, from the Metropolitan Police, said: 'Although the victim and her daughter do not have any visible injuries, this was a frightening experience for them.'

Police have released a CCTV image of the two alleged attackers taken after the attempted robbery at around 5pm on Tuesday, November 3.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Jim Stevens said he's not particularly religious and is clueless about why an image resembling Jesus Christ keeps appearing on his pickup. Stevens, of Jonesborough, said nearly every morning, an image that looks to him like the face of Jesus Christ has appeared in the condensation on the driver's side window of his Isuzu truck. A Johnson City Press photo of the truck showed a facial image.

Stevens said when he first saw the image, he figured it would evaporate and not return. But it kept reappearing for two weeks now.

Stevens said folks at the grocery store he goes to were amazed to see the image.

With image quality that rivals capable D-SLRs and a body not much larger than a super-zoom camera, the 12.1-megapixel Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 ($899.95 direct, with lens) is the most compact model in Panasonic's line-up of Micro Four Thirds cameras. Panasonic's first two entries into the space, the $799 Lumix DMC-G1 and the $1,499 GH1, weren't much smaller than traditional D-SLRs. The GF1 is more comparable in size to the $800 Olympus E-P1, which features great image quality but a painfully slow autofocus. The GF1 doesn't perform as well as the E-P1 or D-SLR competitors in low-light conditions (ISO 1600 and higher), but in brighter shooting situations, image quality is top-notch.

3,000 images combine for Milky Way portrait

Panoramic image shows stars 1,000 times fainter than human eye can see

A new panoramic image of the full night sky — with the Milky Way as its centerpiece — has been made by piecing together 3,000 individual photographs.

The panorama's creator, Axel Mellinger of Central Michigan University, spent 22 months and traveled over 26,000 miles to take digital photographs at dark sky locations in South Africa, Texas and Michigan.

"This panorama image shows stars 1,000 times fainter than the human eye can see, as well as hundreds of galaxies, star clusters and nebulae," Mellinger said.

To combine these images, a simple cutting and pasting job would not suffice. Each photograph is a two-dimensional projection of the celestial sphere.

Mellinger describes the image-making process in the November issue of the journal Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific.

The result is an image of our home galaxy that no star-gazer could ever see

A diver has captured a photograph of a great white shark approaching his camera with a toothy grin like that of Bruce, the terror of the 2003 film Finding Nemo.

Amos Nachoum's image that captures the smile of a 14ft great white shark

The great white image was captured by Amos Nachoum, an underwater expert who guides courageous scuba divers to encounters with the large creatures.

Mr Nachoum photographed this 14ft-long predator from just a few feet away in the waters off the coastal Mexican resort of Guadalupe.

The image strongly resembles the toothsome snarl of Bruce, played by Barry Humphries, as he faced Nemo, played by Alexander Gould.

Despite the proximity of a mouthful of razor-sharp teeth, Mr Nachoum insisted he was not in danger.

He said: "I have a 100 per cent safety record. These sharks aren't the ferocious creatures we see in Jaws. The danger is in your mind."

Finding Nemo was a film about a young clownfish called Nemo, who is stolen from his coral reef home, forcing his timid father
