An independent news Web site says the Department of Justice ordered it to release detailed information on its readers -- then directed the site to keep quiet about the demand.

"Not only was this request a plain violation of federal privacy law -- which would require the government to at least get a court order based on a factual showing to get that kind of data; not only did it violate Department of Justice regulations that require subpoenas to media organizations to be vetted by the attorney general; not only did it threaten the First Amendment right to read anonymously of all of Indymedia's users, it also violated Ms. Clair's First Amendment rights by ordering her not to disclose the subpoena's existence," EFF Senior Staff Attorney Kevin Bankston told FoxNews.com.

Instead, Bankston said, he received a fax from Pryor the next day stating that the subpoena had been withdrawn.

A study of internal company documents suggests Pfizer Inc altered or omitted unfavorable study findings to expand its epilepsy drug Neurontin's market, U.S. researchers said on Wednesday, offering a look at how drugmakers influence scientific research

Clinical trials are supposed to answer a specific, predetermined scientific question, but a comparison of Pfizer documents and published studies on Neurontin for conditions other than epilepsy found that eight out of 20 study reports never made it into medical journals

And in eight of the 12 published studies, the primary outcome -- the answer to the main scientific question -- was changed by Pfizer, the world's biggest drugmaker, from the original study design.

The studies, all funded by Pfizer, showed how the drug worked in people with problems like migraines or pain, which are off-label uses of the drug.

But that's impossible because our market is not free. Each state operates a cozy medical and insurance cartel that restricts competition through licensing and keeps prices higher than they would be in a genuine free market. But the planners won't talk about that. After all, if government is the problem in the first place, how can they justify a government takeover?

As an American, I am embarrassed that the U.S. House of Representatives has 220 members who actually believe the government can successfully centrally plan the medical and insurance industries.

I'm embarrassed that my representatives think that government can subsidize the consumption of medical care without increasing the budget deficit or interfering with free choice.

It's a triumph of mindless wishful thinking over logic and experience.

Government cannot do simple things efficiently. The bureaucrats struggle to count votes correctly. They give subsidized loans to "homeowners" who turn out to be 4-year-olds. Yet congressmen want government to manage our medicine and insurance.

1) How can the government subsidize the purchase of medical services without driving up prices?

2) How can the government promise lower medical costs without restricting choices?

3) How does government "create choice" by imposing uniformity on insurers?

After my graduation from the University my way of living changed. I started working in a good paying job with good opportunities to carrier path and traveling around the world.

The only negative part about this package was the work schedule. I had to work so many hours that no time was left to exercise my body. Besides, the traveling and the meetings did not leave me any time to eat proper meals at proper times like everybody else.

The consequences were unprecedented. Within 5 years I gained 30 kilos without noticing it. My well conditioned body was not there, my athletic muscle tone disappeared and it was substituted by fat.

I was thinking to lose these extra kilos many times over, and I was always promising to myself that the next Monday will be my starting diet day. (This Monday seemed that would never come)

I thank God. I was wrong and read why.

Rep. Deal wants Obama to prove citizenship

WASHINGTON -- Republican gubernatorial candidate and U.S. Rep. Nathan Deal says he wants the president to prove he is an American citizen.

Deal says he has "no reason to think" that President Barack Obama is not a legal U.S. citizen but enough questions have been raised that he plans to write a letter to the president asking him to produce a birth certificate showing he was born in the United States.

"I have looked at the documentation that is publicly available and it leaves many things to be desired," Deal said in an interview Friday.

Deal's statement came a day after he noted in an online chat that he would join other U.S. House members in writing the president and asking that he release a copy of his birth certificate.

In reality they more closely resemble trained beasts rather than people. People simply do not act in that fashion on a regular basis. People have aberrations and in some cases will act stupidly or violently, but unless there is a real problem with their mental/emotional makeup they do not act as an Islamist does.
