It is never too early or too late to have proper training.

Any issues you would like identified, improved, and/or enhanced, including:

Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Obedience
Aggressiveness (Dog vs. dog, dog vs. human, dog vs. other animals in your home)
Nervousness (Shaking, cowering, urinating)
Jumping on people inside/outside home
Excessive excited behavior
Excessive barking
Destroying your property and personal items
Digging in yard
Understanding boundaries (Not to go outside until given permission, furniture is off limits, certain areas within home are off limits)
Distance issues (Not returning to your call when let off leash)
Leash-pulling issues
Staying away from the roadway
Counseling on making a safe, happy environment for your pet
Proper crate training
Tracking and article search training

Clip Source: www.americank9trainingservices.com

My philosophy is quite simple. For dog training to be successful it must be positive, meaningful, and above all else, fun for all parties involved.

One thing I have taken away from my previous K9 titles is that because of the obvious nature of that line of work, it was so serious all the time. Don’t get me wrong – I enjoyed it and am proud of my service to both my country and the people of the United States, but it definitely left something to be desired when it came to the overall relaxed and goofy atmosphere I enjoy when training.

That is why I enjoy working with family dog(s) so much. It can be just as rewarding, but it doesn’t have to be so serious. When you meet me you will see what I mean.

Tags: dog, canine, dog training, obedience, flyball, rally, agility, canine good citizen, tracking, dog sports

<clipSource>http://www.americank9trainingservices.com/site/?page_id=16</clipSource>

Remy Hair Wigs

clipped by: LizHannah
clipper's remarks: The absolute best type of hair used for a wig - these are always gorgeous.

Clip Source: bestwigsforwomen.com

Remy hair (or Remi Hair) is the best type of real hair wig you can buy. It is considered top of the line, premium hair because the cuticle is left intact and all the hairs are woven in the same direction on the wig or extension. This means the hair moves and behaves exactly like real hair should.

Remy hair wigs are the most natural appearing wigs on the market and, because of this, are often the most expensive. The quality, however, is well worth it. One full lace Remy wig takes about 30 hours to handmake! Remy hair is young, healthy hair, it’s strong and will last a long, long time. Remy hair is the top choice for celebrities, in films and for women with medical hair loss.

Virgin remy hair has never been processed — no color, perms or other chemical treatments, just 100% virgin hair. Non-virgin remy hair has has some processing, usually a color treatment.

Tags: remi human hair, virgin remy hair, remy hair, 100 remy hair, wigs for women

<clipSource>http://bestwigsforwomen.com/remy-hair/</clipSource>

Obama's Gay Outreach: All Talk, No Action

clipped by: clip-on-tie
clipper's remarks: Well, just as I predicted, last night when he the addressed the annual dinner of the Human Rights Campaign, the all but de facto gay auxiliary of the Democratic National Committee, the President got his “standing ovation“.* The “cheering crowd” gave the Democrat a warm welcome even as he acknowledged “some policy changes he promised on the campaign trail are not coming as quickly as they expected.“

Promises, promises, but not a plan. That’s not enough for many gay activists, but it will win over the Washington-based leadership of HRC and other gay groups, ever eager to sing the praises of a politician with a (D) after his name who says the right things to their audiences. Of course, to those activists, with highfalutin language and that (D), it really doesn’t matter what he does.

Once again, it was typical Obama, lofty words with little to show for them.

Sickening. In a speech to the world's largest gay political group, the Human Rights Campaign, Obama essentially said two things: I'm with you. But I can't do much for you.

As usual with this President, all the cadences were right. "It is a privilege to be here tonight to open for Lady Gaga," he ad-libbed, again a deft and knowing line for an audience probably as eager to hear her performance as his.

Obama patted himself on the back for his party's passage earlier in the week of a a hate-crimes bill that, for the first time, includes gay and transgender people.

Obama did pledge — as he has before — to end the Pentagon's don't-ask-don't-tell policy. Sadly, it fits all too well with the current debate over government control vs individual choice (and responsibility).

This giving part of America is poised to be snuffed out by Obamacare. Companies can decide on their own when it is time to just fill the need and forget the bottom line, as Fed Ex did in this case. I have no doubt a US Post Office manager or worker would jump into the breach and do the same if they could. But the difference here is a government run entity is bound by libraries full of regulations. They cannot make an exception, they cannot redirect resources. They cannot perform the simple act of human charity without permission.

This little girl’s family did not have time for a waiting list like the long one in Canada. And the evil private company (for profit) stepped in and made it happen.

Waaaahhhhhh corporations....wahhh

Clip Source: www.ky3.com

HARRISON, Ark. -- A terminally ill girl is back with family and friends, thanks to the efforts of her community and a big dose of compassion.

Doctors discovered 7-year-old Jada Harper's inoperable brain tumor in July. She went through treatment in Little Rock, then in Houston, Texas. After Jada didn't respond well to the treatment and went into a coma, her parents wanted to bring her home to her loved ones. The problem was getting her back to Arkansas.

"She's a loving, sweet, always cared more about anybody else but herself, always played with whoever needed to be played with. She just loved everybody," said Jada's mom, Savannah Surface.

Just one of the people involved in finding that flight was Jada's principal, who got an e-mail update about the effort to bring Jada home.

At times this is a necessity because police officers often find themselves in situations where a high degree of assertiveness is all that stands between them and losing control of a situation. I also know from personal experience that if police officers are not constantly reminded of the dangers of crossing the line through their use of their authority, then abuse of their power is a virtual certainty. Further, as with any minority (and police are a minority), associates tend to stick together. That police will back up one another, even when their fellow officers are wrong, is as dependable as sunrise.

Clip Source: www.laprogressive.com

A Teachable Moment: Police Authority and Racism

by <A title="Posts by Charles D. One of the things that psychology has made clear about primates and humans is that males in positions of power experience a rise in testosterone. Put a low-level male in charge of a group, and in time he will blossom into an alpha male with the appropriate level of hormones for the job. This also applies to females, perhaps to a lesser degree. Put a badge and gun on a man or a woman, and in time a bold persona becomes part of a law officer’s personality. It begins to feel right, and it defaults to overt assertiveness when one’s official authority reaches into gray areas.

Tags: police authority, racism, police brutality

<clipSource>http://www.laprogressive.com/2009/08/01/a-teachable-moment-police-authority-and-racism/</clipSource>

So Lucy Wasn't the Oldest Human-like Creature ...

clipped by: Uniec
clipper's remarks: This new discovery looks intriguing, especially because it may still not be the oldest one. Scientists today announced the discovery of the oldest fossil skeleton of a human ancestor. The find reveals that our forebears underwent a previously unknown stage of evolution more than a million years before Lucy, the iconic early human ancestor specimen that walked the Earth 3.2 million years ago (interactive time line: how the new discovery changes human evolutionary theory).

The centerpiece of a treasure trove of new fossils, the skeleton—assigned to a species called Ardipithecus ramidus—belonged to a small-brained, 110-pound (50-kilogram) female nicknamed "Ardi." (See pictures of Ardipithecus ramidus.)

"This find is far more important than Lucy," said Alan Walker, a paleontologist from Pennsylvania State University who was not part of the research. "It shows that the last common ancestor with chimps didn't look like a chimp, or a human, or some funny thing in between." This is basically a database management program where resumes of all applicants are stored systematically. The human brain cannot multitask, PERIOD.

You might think you're multitasking, but you are really switching between tasks in your brain. Every time you switch tasks, your brain has to reload the context of what it was last doing on that task. This is not a big deal for small tasks, as the state information is not that much. But the bigger (conceptually) a task is, the longer it takes to reload all the state information into your brain, and the bigger the efficiency hit against you is.
If you find that you can do things no problem by switching tasks, it most likely means that what you're doing is not that mentally demanding, or you are not being effective in what you're doing. A perfect example is if you are surfing the web, watching TV, and twittering at the same time. You might be able to do all 3 of those tasks at once, but no one can argue that any of those things requires more than a sliver of brainpower.

Clip Source: lifehacker.com

Self-Proclaimed Multitaskers Aren't That Good at Multitasking

When co-workers claim they can do only one thing at a time, do you silently smirk from behind your multiple monitors and tabbed browser windows? Psychologists suggest you're the one who actually rates lower on straight-up memory and attention tests.

Does frequent multi-tasking actually dull one's ability to focus and concentrate, or is someone who seems to have a lower capacity for attention and memory drawn to a more compatible, quick-hit, multi-tasking work style?

We don't have those answers, even if we've previously pondered the stigma of "information overload."

Holdren, advocated the “de-development” of the United States in books he published in the 1970s.

In the vision expressed by Holdren and his co-authors, the Ehrlichs, the need for “de-development” of the United States demanded a redistribtuion of wealth.

“The need for de-development presents our economists with a major challenge,” they wrote. “They must design a stable, low-consumption economy in which there is a much more equitable distribution of wealth than in the present one. Redistribution of wealth both within and among nations is absolutely essential, if a decent life is to be provided to every human being.”

Holdren, who is director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, made these comments in the 1973 book “Human Ecology,” which he co-authored with the Ehrlichs, long-time advocates of curtailing population growth.

And Terry Jeffrey reported:

President Obama’s top science adviser said in a book . .

Clip Source: michellemalkin.com

Do you agree that musing about forced abortions, mass sterilizations, and poisoning the water supply to control the population is in the mainstream?

A progress that is an illusion, enhancing the few and fooling the masses, is for the solitary the opposite of progress, for it does not consult nature or quiet the mind in order to begin reconsturcting the self. But the theory of progress is an old device masking power, and concealing what the 20th century creative souls — and those brave 19th century figures like Kierkegaard and Nietzsche — unmasked as lies about human nature.

What is the alternative to progress for the grand institutions of today? It is a devolution to simplicity, to individuals and small social units, to natural industry and exchange, to a relationship to nature based on value and not exploitation or power. The alternative to progress is a devolution of artificial wealth, privilege, and legitimacy.

Clip Source: www.hermitary.com

A theory of linear succession or progress has been the premise of Western philosophy of history from the beginning of the Christian era and on through today. In the earlier form, taken from biblical sources, the line went from creation to fall to redemption to apocalypse

Renaissance and Enlightenment, the same point of view is merely secularized, and progress is recast as the evolving of reason, knowledge, discovery, and technological advancement. In the 19th century, Hegel established the framework for a philosophy of progress, and Darwin’s theory of evolution provided a scientific confirmation, especially for the nascent sociology of the time.

the pragmatic theory of progress is functionally contrived by those few who would benefit from the extension of the instruments and institutional structures of progress (economic, financial, political, military, educational, etc.).

progress that is an illusion, enhancing the few and fooling the masses,

Tags: progressivism, solitude, capitalism

<clipSource>http://www.hermitary.com/thatch/?p=649</clipSource>

An Open Letter to Closed Minds

clipped by: thisnamecantbetaken
clipper's remarks: A challenge to orthodoxy tends to be ignored at first. But if it gains popular support, the first move is to discredit and silence the challenger.

“Belief” is the crux of the matter. No amount of evidence will change the consensus view until a sufficient number “convert” to a belief in the new theory.

“It gets worse. As the evidence accumulates, the two camps will not only fail to reach consensus but actually be driven further apart - propelled by their different views ..And worst of all, there is no prospect of such a consensus unless the two sides can agree about the cause of the data.” Such a conclusion bodes ill for any attempt to change the status quo.

An important scientific innovation rarely makes its way by gradually winning over and converting its opponents. What does happen is that its opponents gradually die out, and that the growing generation is familiarized with the new ideas from the beginning.”

Applicable to both science and religion, I reckon.

Clip Source: www.holoscience.com

An Open Letter to Closed Minds

A widely-accepted foundation stone of scientific logic involves a process of elimination, requiring all available possibilities to be considered with incorrect ideas discarded when they fail to predict experimental results.

a leading group of concerned scientists

questions a core belief – the belief in the so-called big bang theory.

Already, the first line of defense – censorship – has held.

The one metre

tall, 30kg

humans roamed the Indonesian island of Flores, perhaps up to 8,000 years ago.

Two papers in the journal Nature now support the idea they were an entirely new species of human.

The team, which discovered the tiny remains in Liang Bua cave on Flores, contends that the population belongs to the species Homo floresiensis - separate from our own grouping, Homo sapiens.

One team

analysed remains of the Hobbit foot

The group found that, in some ways, it is incredibly human. The big toe is aligned with the others and the joints make it possible to extend the toes as the body's full weight falls on the foot, attributes not found in great apes.

But in other respects, it is incredibly primitive

that resembles that of a chimpanzee.

So unless the Flores Hobbits became more primitive over time - a rather unlikely scenario - they must have branched off the human line at an earlier date than Homo sapiens.

Tags: anthroplogy, history, discoveries

<clipSource>http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/8036396.stm</clipSource>
