The US credit crisis is also claiming victims far away from home. Latin American migrants in the US are sending far less money home than expected.
Like all of the SPLC's Teaching Tolerance products, it will be distributed free to classrooms across the nation. An estimated 50,000 teaching kits, which include the film and lesson plans, will be distributed to educators over the next two years.

Tags: human rights, labor rights, immigrant rights

<clipSource>http://www.splcenter.org/news/item.jsp?aid=337</clipSource>

Death of Detained Immigrant Inspires Online Game With Goal of Educating Players

clipped by: nedhamson1

Clip Source: www.nytimes.com

The death last year of Boubacar Bah, a Guinean tailor held in a New Jersey jail for overstaying his visa, showed immigration detention to be one of the most secretive corners of American life. But press a button, and those teeth--six electrified cartridges tethered by 25-foot wires--shoot out in a 20-degree arc. Inch-long probes emitting 50,000 volts of electricity pierce through clothing and skin. September 27th at 11am, nearly a hundred workers from local UC campuses - including members of UPTE, the University Professional and Technical Employees union- converged in the Oakland hills to make pancakes for newly appointed president Mark Yudof at his Oakland Hills mansion on Woodmont Way. They demanded Yudof come out and explain how he intends to end poverty wages at the University of California.

AFSCME workers at all ten campuses and five hospitals have been in contract negotiations with UC management for nearly a year and even though ninety percent of the workforce is eligible for public assistance, UC executives have not moved.

Biden, trying to prove Iraq a mistake, compares Iraq cost of combat operations with U.S. expenditures to USAID in Afghanistan. Deception? You betcha! Comparing apples to oranges. Hey Joe - why don't you compare cost of Iraq combat operations in Iraq with cost of combat operations in Afghanistan.

Now, considering this fabrication lie, do you think they are going to keep their promise about no tax increase on the middle class??! They lie through their teeth.

Clip Source: politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com

The Statement:
Sen. Joe Biden said at the October 2 vice presidential debate that the United States spends "more money in three weeks on combat in Iraq than we spent on the entirety of the last seven years that we have been in Afghanistan building that country … or six-and-a-half years in Afghanistan."

The facts:
Biden's remark seems to refer to two specific, and very different statistics: U.S. spending in Iraq only on combat operations, not on reconstruction and other activities; and U.S. spending on "building" Afghanistan — presumably, money for reconstruction in that country.

It's important to keep in mind that figures for USAID projects are only a portion of total U.S. spending in Afghanistan. In July, the State Department reported that, since fiscal year 2001, the United States has spent $17.2 billion on security in Afghanistan and $1.3 billion on "governance, rule of law, and human rights" efforts. Some may consider that latter figure part of "building" a society.

Tags: loony left, biden lies, democrat deception

<clipSource>http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/10/03/fact-check-cost-of-iraq-combat-v-afghanistan-reconstruction/</clipSource>

Foreign Murderer release on British streets

clipped by: notareargunner
clipper's remarks: Is Jacqui Spliff still on duty, or has she joined the Nu Lieber Party to welcome the Prince of Darkness back to the trough?
Not only have they lost all moral consciousness, but their brazen disregard of the historic position of public representative and the covenant they have with the British people leads one to think we ought to just leave on mass, and let them all fester in their own stupidity.
Deport this murderer now and investigate everyone who has had any association with him.
The Government have not the will to deport him because it will infringe on his families human rights.
