Even conservative Michael Savage is going after Palin and McCain as mere show horses, while the masses of the seduced and ear-tickled of the conservative naive get swept away by a little known governor who knows how to play to an audience, of men in particular, whose scandals and real "ethics" and "family values" are just now coming to light. Republicans are being tricked the most--and not for the first time--McCain loves it!

it really was a big show of force by the police. You saw these snow plows

a lot of horses, a lot of policemen on bicycles. And they kept blocking each bridge. And the march would move on. They’d block the bridge

They threw a lot of concussion grenades, a lot of smoke bombs, pepper spray, some teargas

the police basically corralled everyone onto the Marion Street bridge, about 200 people. As soon as we were on the bridge, we realized that we were trapped

this was a very non-confrontational group of people who were doing this march

They never pushed the cops

They never did anything like that

I had my Democracy Now! press pass and my RNC pass,

we’re sitting amongst a group of about maybe six or eight other camera people, sound people, clearly all press.

I said, “I’m a journalist. I’m press. I’m here filming.”

He goes, “Well, you shouldn’t be here. You should have dispersed.” He arrested me

I told him, “You’ve been telling me to disperse since 5:00

there would be no press for four hours of this march.

Animal neglect charges dropped

James Louis Denoyer, 52, of Westport pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of improper disposal of a dead animal. The 36 counts of felony animal neglect were dismissed as part of a plea deal.

This concludes the December 2005 saga of 36 malnourished and neglected horses seized from Denoyer's property in the Westport area. As part of the plea, Denoyer agreed to own no more than four horses in the future, to keep county authorities apprised of where they are kept, to have a licensed veterinarian inspect them every three months sending reports to authorities, as well as semi-annual inspections by a county veterinarian.

The View From Home

During the week I work in an office in the middle of town. I look out my window and the view is of homes, businessess, cars, the university (Washington State University) and streets. Thankfully, the amount of time I spend there is decreasing. I much prefer the view I have from my home office. I live in the country just outside of town. When I am working from home, I have th priviledge of looking out my window and seeing wheat fields, horses, alpacas and blue sky. There is something peaceful about watching the wheat waving in the wind. It makes working not seem like work. I love the idea that soon I will be able to enjoy that view full time. What is your view like? What would you like it to be like?

It's difficult for a horse's leg to heal due to a combination of factors. Their legs must absorb considerable shock as their powerful bodies gallop at high speeds. Horses engage in a lot of physical activity, and the consequences of this behavior can eventually lead to deteriorated leg bones and increased opportunities to fall. Another thing to consider is how many leg bones horses have. Out of the 205 bones that make up a horse's entire body, 80 of them are located in its legs. The complex system of joints, bones, ligaments, tendons, cartilage, lubricant, laminate and hooves that contribute to a horse's amazing speed can also be the cause of its downfall. What's more, between 60 to 65 percent of a horse's weight rests on its front legs -- that's why most of its injuries occur here.

Recovery is further complicated because horses can't lie down the entire time they recuperate. Horses are programmed to stand a good portion of the time -- including while they sleep
