I am totally into Air Wick scented oil refills... it has to be Mandarin Green Tea scent. I am so hooked, when it wasn't on the shelf at Safeway... or Wal Mart... or Superstore... I worried that it was discontinued. I found it at Shoppers Drug Mart and stocked up! Now I'm buying ahead, just in case... that's how bad I've got it for this not-perfumy, delicate clean citrus scent.

Potato Salad with Green Pea Mayonnaise

Serves: 8-10

Preparation time: 15 minutes or less

Chat potatoes with a mint and garlic green pea mayonnaise. This is a Women's Weekly recipe I have been using for years. A nice change to your normal potato salad.

Ingredients

1 kg chat potatoes
1 cup frozen peas
½ cup sour cream
½ cup mayonnaise
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 tablespoons chopped mint
2 tablespoons chopped chives

Method

Cook potatoes until just tender. Drain, rinse and refrigerate until cold.
Cook peas, drain and allow to cool.
Puree peas with remainder of ingredients until smooth. Spoon over potatoes. Chill until needed or serve immediately.

AirPod is Like a Smart Car Full of Hot Air, and That's the Idea

This post is almost half a Retromodo, in that compressed air cars have been peddled by companies like MDI for the last 20 years. But this compressed air-powered pod, the AirPod, is all new. The three-seater is powered by MDI's proprietary compressed air system, which uses electricity to force the air to power the engine's pistons. The car might appear in U.S. cities by 2010, and possibly India and Europe a bit sooner.

The range, as expected, is quite limited. The AirPod gets up to about 40 mph, and goes approximately 130 miles between charges.

Once the tank is depleted, refilling it is described as "extremely quick" if you happen to have a specialized compressed air filling station handy. Otherwise, you'll have to fill up using a traditional home air compressor (think: filling your bicycle tires). [EcoGeek]

The Palins’ claims that Wooten posed a threat to the governor and her family were not credible, Branchflower said. “I conclude that such claims of fear were not bona fide and were offered to provide cover for the Palins’ motivation: to get Trooper Wooten fired for personal family related reasons,” he said.

Senate President Lyda Green, a Republican from Palin’s hometown of Wasilla, says the investigation shows a serious ethical breach.

“I understand that when you have a personal interest in something, it’s very tempting to do everything you can,” she says. “But there’s still that very, very fragile balance of power that has to be observed. This is probably a really good reminder of ways not to do business.”
