And why go beyond that? As we all know, speeches cannot be written by others and rehearsed for days. They are true windows to the soul.

Unless they are delivered by Barack Obama, that is. In which case, as Palin said Wednesday, speeches are just a “cloud of rhetoric.”

Clip Source: www.politico.com

On behalf of the elite media, I would like to say we are very sorry.

We have asked questions this week that we should never have asked.

We have asked pathetic questions like: Who is Sarah Palin? What is her record? Where does she stand on the issues? And is she is qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency?

We have asked mean questions like: How well did John McCain know her before he selected her? How well did his campaign vet her? And was she his first choice?

Bad questions. Bad media. Bad.

It is not our job to ask questions. Or it shouldn’t be. To hear from the pols at the Republican National Convention this week, our job is to endorse and support the decisions of the pols.

we should have stuck to the warm, human interest stuff like

mooseburgers

we should have stuck to the press release stuff

we should never have strayed into the other stuff. Like

Palin is under investigation

Why go there?

Tags: palin

<clipSource>http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/13143.html</clipSource>

Why the media should apologize

clipped by: lifecyce1898

Clip Source: www.politico.com

We have asked questions this week that we should never have asked.

Bad questions. Bad media. Bad.

First, we should have stuck to the warm, human interest stuff like how she likes mooseburgers and hit an important free throw at her high school basketball tournament even though she had a stress fracture.

Second, we should have stuck to the press release stuff like how she opposed the Bridge to Nowhere (after she supported it).

Sarah Palin wanted the media to report on her teenage son, Track, who enlisted in the Army on Sept. 11, 2007, and soon will deploy to Iraq.

Sarah Palin did not want the media to report on her teenage daughter, Bristol, who is pregnant and unmarried.

She gave a really good speech. And why go beyond that? As we all know, speeches cannot be written by others and rehearsed for days. They are true windows to the soul.

Unless they are delivered by Barack Obama, that is. In which case, as Palin said Wednesday, speeches are just a “cloud of rhetoric.”

<clipSource>http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/13143.html</clipSource>

Funny learning English games

clipped by: Kreuzberg-Jakob
clipper's remarks: The Robot Bee is a hard word-game, not only for learning, and jumble Kids is easier, may be for the workplace to get the head clear ...
On the Site you come to 'Merriam-Webster's-World-Central' with more stuff - and really fine dictionary. Unless you wish to keep squandering billions in revenue and wasting countless lives in needless wars they must be defeated in November.

Clip Source: www.dailykos.com

Palin: Soldiers on a task that is from God

As mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, Sarah Palin was asked to address the graduating class of commission students at a local church. During daylight hours especially, it’s a good idea to encourage your kids to play outside and to limit the amount of TV and computer time to no more than two hours. Less than 30 minutes a day is even better.

Strollers, infant seats and small play spaces can make it difficult for toddlers and babies to be as active as is good for them. Parents also now worry more about the safety of their neighbourhoods, so children play together less in the street or in parks.

<clipSource>http://raisingchildren.net.au/articles/being_active_-_things_that_get_in_the_way.html</clipSource>

Weight Loss Centers Charleston SC

clipped by: handleriii

Clip Source: www.lowcountrytoday.com

Restaurants & Food

Curves Foods

Curves of Goose Creek

Curves™ Cereal and Bars pack good-for-you into great taste.

You're all about getting healthy and staying healthy this time, true? When selecting products, we don’t just read about them in a vendor’s catalog. We bake with them. We take things home. We put samples of scone mixes in our company lunchroom. We run spatulas through the dishwasher, soak bread pans in the sink, don’t follow the directions that come with the timer, drop measuring cups on the floor – in short, all of the things you’re likely to do in your kitchen at home. If the product passes our tests, and if it’s available at a fair price, then we consider selling it on this site. What we avoid at all costs is cheap stuff. Inexpensive, OK; but cheap, no. Pans that bend, finishes that flake, and handles that break will never make it onto King Arthur Flour – The Baker’s Catalogue, no matter what kind of good deal we’re offered on them.

Emphasis on keeping a potentially explosive discussion focused and productive. Applicable to a wide range of controversial current events, not just 9-11. First published soon after 9-11-2001.

Clip Source: www.crlt.umich.edu

Guidance For UM Instructors Leading Class Discussion on The Tragedy of September 11, 2001

Ask the class to establish ground rules for the discussion. Some ideas you might want to propose to students before they begin discussion include:

Avoid blame and speculation.

Respect each other's views and avoid inflammatory language.

Share personal stories and feelings. (Be prepared for students to
be emotional, and try to support and comfort them.)

Express anger and frustration within limits. (While it is important
for students to express themselves, it is also vital to control the class
and maintain an environment that feels safe for all students.)

What hopes and fears do you have about this discussion?

In what ways are you personally affected by these events?

How might these events affect your/our future?

What positive actions can individuals take in response to this tragedy
(e.g., give blood, support students new to campus or far from home)?
