Members of Congress were told they could face martial law if they didn't pass the bailout bill. This will not be the last time.

Background: the First Brigade of the Third Infantry Division, three to four thousand soldiers, has been deployed in the United States as of October 1. Their stated mission is the form of crowd control they practiced in Iraq, subduing "unruly individuals," and the management of a national emergency. I am in Seattle and heard from the brother of one of the soldiers that they are engaged in exercises now. Amy Goodman reported that an Army spokesperson confirmed that they will have access to lethal and non lethal crowd control technologies and tanks.

George Bush struck down Posse Comitatus, thus making it legal for military to patrol the U.S. He has also legally established that in the "War on Terror," the U.S. is at war around the globe and thus the whole world is a battlefield. Thus the U.S. is also a battlefield.

<clipSource>http://www.alternet.org/rights/101958/</clipSource>

WWIII?

clipped by: JackieDel

Clip Source: www.timesonline.co.uk

Some key decision makers in Israel fear that unless they attack Iranian
nuclear enrichment facilities in the next few months, while George W Bush is
still president, there will not be another period when they can rely on the
United States as being anywhere near as supportive in the aftermath of a
unilateral attack.

In the past 40 years there have been few occasions when I have been more
concerned about a specific conflict escalating to involve, economically, the
whole world. We are watching a disinformation exercise involving a number of
intelligence services. Reality is becoming ever harder to disentangle.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows Barack Obama attracting 52% of the vote while John McCain earns 45%. This is the first update based entirely on interviews conducted after the second Presidential debate and it shows virtually no change. On Tuesday morning, just before the debate, Obama was leading 52% to 44%.

In fact, the race has remained quite stable for more than two weeks. This is the sixteenth straight day that Obama’s support has ranged from 50% to 52% while McCain has been at 44% of 45%

Currently, Obama has the edge in every state won by John Kerry four years ago. However, of the states won by George Bush, McCain is trailing in four and five others are considered a toss-up. As a result, Electoral College projections now show Obama leading 248-163. When “leaners” are included, Obama leads 300-174

<A title="http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/latest_results_from_rasmussen_markets

John Sidney McCain III and George Walker Bush both represent the third generation of American dynasties. Both were born into positions of privilege against which they rebelled into mediocrity. Both developed an uncanny social intelligence that allowed them to skate by with a minimum of mental exertion. Both struggled with booze and loutish behavior. At each step, with the aid of their fathers' powerful friends, both failed upward. And both shed their skins as Episcopalian members of the Washington elite to build political careers as self-styled, ranch-inhabiting Westerners who pray to Jesus in their wives' evangelical churches.
Rolling Stone Link: http://www.rollingstone.com/news/coverstory/make_believe_maverick_the_real_john_mccain

Also On: http://www.thethinkingblue.com/MCPAIN.html

Clip Source: thinkingblue.blogspot.com

Is there a skeleton in John McCain's POW closet?

The Rolling Stone has an article called "Make-Believe Maverick"

<A

isn't why I am blogging this. Because I could care less if McCain is touchy
about his lack of tallness. What I did find interesting was in the comment
section, at the bottom of the webpage. A comment made by an ex-Air Force
officer, who remarked about John McCain's POW HERO status and lack there of. Now
I don't know if this ex-Air Force officer knew John McCain or not. But
never-the-less, it raises a lot of suspicion about Maverick McCain's Hero Rank.
I can't help but wonder, why the Obama Camp doesn't seem interested in using it,
the same way the NASTY ONES, on the other side of the political arena would...

It had taken me six years to admit the truth. A week earlier, Bush had said in no uncertain terms that Donald Rumsfeld would stay on until the end of Bush’s presidency. “Both those men are doing fantastic jobs and I strongly support them.” The day after the election, Rumsfeld was gone. When asked about the turn-around, the President said:

Mr. Bush

<clipSource>http://masbury.wordpress.com/</clipSource>

"atrocious economic policies" of Bush

clipped by: benaloy
clipper's remarks: USA owes 1 trillion to China !

The 'Big Mouth' !!

Clip Source: www.reuters.com

the "atrocious economic policies" of the Bush administration had caused the

Democratic New York Gov. David Paterson says conservative criticism of Obama’s community organizing days is code for “black.” Democratic Rep. Gregory Meeks complained to the New York Observer: “They are trying to throw out these codes.” In the same piece, Democratic Rep. Yvette Clark divined segregationist intent in Palin’s references to Joe Six-Pack and hockey moms. “It leaves a lot of people out.”
And Democratic Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid echoed Time’s Tumulty on the McCain camp’s Obama/Raines broadsides: “The only connection that people could bring up about Raines and Barack Obama is that they both are African-American, other than that there is nothing.”

Clip Source: article.nationalreview.com

How many racial bogeymen have Obama operatives and sympathetic journalists discovered lurking in “coded language” and attire? Let us count the ways:

UC Berkeley linguistics professor George Lakoff was also haunted by “That One”: “The phrase was meant to say, ‘You and I are in the same area, but he’s the outsider.’“

Memo to McCain: Next time, call him “The One.”

Obama supporters on the heavily trafficked Democratic Underground website (where such mainstream Democrats as Elizabeth Edwards hang out) saw the ghost of the Ku Klux Klan in Sarah Palin’s white suit jacket. Yes, white clothes equal racism.

Palin is wearing white again, inciting the racist crowds.

Such paranoia is not limited to the fever swamps of the Internet. Earlier this week, the Associated Press disseminated an “analysis” accusing Palin of injecting a “racial tinge” into the campaign because she criticized Obama for his longtime relationship with Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers.

<clipSource>http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=ZjkxZTdlODY0OWVjM2YyMDQxNjFiNTliYmFjOTQ4YmQ=</clipSource>
