Rain gardens are depressed landscaped areas planted with wild flowers and other native vegetation that allows rainwater runoff from impervious urban areas like roofs, driveways, and walkways to be soaked up or absorbed. After a storm, rain garden can keep a few inches of water for a couple of hours and slowly filters it into the ground rather than letting it run off the drainage. Caskets on isle 15, shovels in the gardening section. Ok maybe I took it to far there but yes you can buy caskets at Walmart, but not actually in the store which would be even more weird. Maybe I am just behind in the times and I did not know that already. How naive of me not to think you could order a casket online at Walmart, you can get anything else really. I guess that is not something that I have thought about so that’s my excuse. If you want to take a look for yourself go to this link.

Compost Pile Friends

clipper's remarks: they may not look nice but they are big helpers (most of the time). However, if you are concerned about the food web in your compost pile "breaking out," try the following tips:

1. Create a barrier by spreading a line of wood ash (not barbecue ash because of fat residues) or crushed egg shells around your compost pile. This will keep the activity contained within the pile.
2. A similar, but more lethal technique, is to sink small margarine containers full of stale beer, molasses and water, or yeast and water in the ground around the compost pile. Unsuspecting slugs, sow bugs, and earwigs will be attracted to the liquid, crawl inside, and drown.

Earwigs can be sprayed with a solution of one tablespoon of liquid soap detergent combined with one quart of water. This will kill the earwigs that are doing damage and spare the helpful bugs that are eating dead organic material.
