is a kitchen appliance that keeps water at a constant hot temperature
for hot drinks and other culinary uses. Simply fill the pot with
water and plug it in. It boils the water to 212°F and keeps
it at a set temperature all day long. With an electric boiler &
warmer, hot water is ready all day long at the touch of a button
for hot tea, instant coffee, instant noodles and even baby formula.
Each model features different hot water temperature settings depending
upon your needs. All models feature easy-to-clean nonstick interior
and safety auto shut-off when there is no water.

A curved clipper head makes it almost impossible to over-cut small or large regions, and the clipper's unconventional hairbrush-like shape makes it easy to reach the most awkward spots on your head.

I'd tried cutting my own hair several times and always had disasters. On my first attempt with the Shortcut, I got about the same results I'm used to from a pro

It seems almost impossible to mess up. Using the Shortcut takes me five to ten minutes, which I usually fit in just before showering for obvious reasons. The cutter can be set from "skinhead" to "George Clooney" and you can easily mix lengths on the sides and top for effect. Once you get used to five minute haircuts on-demand they're rather addictive

Going to the barber for a typical male haircut now seems as silly -- and time wasting -- as traveling across town for a shave. Every time I use the Shortcut I save about $20 and at least an hour and a half of my time

Tags: gadgets, haircuts, reviews

<clipSource>http://www.kk.org/cooltools/archives/003000.php</clipSource>

Wahl Rechargeable "Self Cut" hair clipper

clipped by: Lexica

Clip Source: gadgets.boingboing.net

But Wahl also sells a cordless version that seems to get high marks. Apparently trees are capable of self-sustaining a reliable source of electricity. While a tree may not seem like much of a powerhouse, the "trickle charge" can add up, "just like a dripping faucet can fill a bucket over time," said Shuguang Zhang, one of the researchers on the project and the associate director of MIT's Center for Biomedical Engineering (CBE).

MIT researchers now believe they can power a network of sensors connected directly to trees to perform a variety of tasks.

Trees could serve as “silent sentinels” along the nation's borders to detect potential threats such as smuggled radioactive materials—with the sensors powered by the trees themselves. With Mr. Gould’s television system it is possible to televise a boxing match, a play, an orchestra, or any other spectacle whose scene of action can be compressed into a reasonable space.
As a result, we've heard some rumbling in the wires about other camera manufacturers coming out with their own version in the next year or so.

Since the lenses are 6-7 cm from each other (or about the same length between most people’s eyes), the Real 3-D's camera processes the images in real time to produce the stereoscopic 'trick' effect that makes them look as if they're floating in air. This is where the processing update of Fujitsu's 'Real Photo Processor 3-D' chip comes in.

The chip blends the dual images and all the important metrics (focus, zoom range and exposure) at once and pushes them out to the LCD, which is also on a 3-D display.

Tags: technology, gadgets, photography

<clipSource>http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/2008/09/fujifilms-two-l.html</clipSource>

stock hit silicon valley

clipped by: micheltremblay

Clip Source: www.nytimes.com

From San Francisco to San Jose, the effects are already palpable.
Products

BUG is a collection of easy-to-use electronic modules that snap together to build any gadget you can imagine. Each BUGmodule represents a specific gadget function (ex: a camera, a keyboard, a video output, etc.). You decide which functions to include and BUG takes care of the rest, letting you try out different combinations quickly and easily. With BUG and the integrated programming environment/online community (BUGnet), anyone can build, program and share innovative devices and applications. We don’t define the final products – you do.

glimpse of the brilliant world that modern green lighting solutions have in store for all of us. The new technological masterpieces not only have a soothing effect on a bleeding planet but can give your aching senses a much-needed rest as well. Their blend of style with substance and design with delight make sure that green products are as good, if not better, than any gadgets rolled out as fashion beacons. Hopefully you enjoyed the visual delight and more people will be tempted to say - let there be “green” light!

Based on principles proposed by MIT physicists, Intel researchers have been working on a Wireless Resonant Energy Link (WREL).

Rattner demonstrated powering a 60-watt light bulb without the use of a plug or wire of any kind, which is more than is needed for a typical laptop.

The magic of WREL is that it promises to deliver wireless power safely and efficiently. The technology relies on strongly coupled resonators, a principle similar to the way a trained singer can shatter a glass using her voice. At the receiving resonator's natural frequency, energy is absorbed efficiently, just as a glass absorbs acoustic energy at its natural frequency.

With this technology enabled in a laptop, for example, batteries could be recharged when the laptop gets within a metre or two of the transmit resonator.

Tags: wireless, electricity, wrel, gadgets, technology, sci-fi

<clipSource>http://www.gadgetguy.com.au/blog.asp?m_blog=329</clipSource>

Elektrická cigareta

clipped by: aluuu

Clip Source: gadgets.zive.cz

Elektrická cigareta
