Firefox

Team Server Hmm!

I got an interesting question from our SQL Server DBA team in London today. They asked if you can integrate team server with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio. I had a look at the software and could not see TFS source control in the list, so I did a little google and found:

I'm going to bet that the problem is in the OleDb operations you are performing, but it really depends on what you're doing. Remember OleDb in this case is essentially the FoxPro engine so if you run a query it runs the query on that thread and ties it up.

Actually, the OleDb drivers should be running in ASPNET_WP process not in inetinfo...

However, I'm not sure if this actually the case. Somebody else recently was mentioning that they had issues with OleDb actually running under the IUSR_ account instead of the ASPNET/NETWORK SERVICE account that should be running in the ASP.NET worker process.

I receive the following message from a customer using my ASP.NET app.
The application is fairly small (about 4-5 pages) and it accesses the
VFP data via OLEDB calls to VFP Stored Procedures.

Here is the message (abbreviated):

"I have been observing an interesting condition since I began to serve <your App> on my server. I am serving the app on a Compaq Proliant DL380 PIII 1266MHz, 2 processor, 3,145,244KB RAM running W2K 5.00.2195, SP4. Since Go-Live the IIS debug process "inetinfo.exe" began to run consuming 100% of CPU time. I have been able to work around this by changing the process affinity and limiting the process to CPU 1 leaving CPU 0 free to process http requests."

Does the above indicates that my application is the culprit or the .NET
framework?

What is the process "inetinfor.exe?

What does he mean by CPU 1 and CPU 0?

I would appreciate any suggestions or/and explanations.
