I love the smell of chutzpah in the morning. It smells like a moldy Malcolm Forbes.

After hearing that his company paid a $29.5 million settlement for forcing workers to work off the clock, a Lowes employee found this sign hanging in his store's break room. That, my friends, is the kind of righteous arrogance that's made our beloved corporate board rooms the most powerful forces in politics today.

Michael Jackson has earned $72 million since death

Even before the "This Is It" opening, Michael Jackson had earned $90 million in the past year, with most of it coming since his death five months ago.

That sizable sum put him third on the Forbes list of dead celebrities making the most money.

Jackson earned less than the $350 million that fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent scored in the past year, and the $235 million earned by the songwriting duo Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein.

Forbes counted money earned from October 2008-October 2009, even for Jackson, who died June 25. But about $72 million -- or 80% of the $90 million earned in the past 12 months -- came after Jackson's death, said a spokesperson for GreenLight, a consultancy company that represents "delebs," their term for dead celebrities still earning money.

On Wednesday, Jackson -- along with AEG Entertainment and Sony -- began raking in money for next year's list as the concert-rehearsal documentary "This Is It" opened in 3,500 domestic theaters and around the world.

No wonder the Democratic congress kept approving the enormous spending bills on the war, since a significant portion of it happens to end up in their deep pockets.
Interestingly, the report also mentioned that members of the senate foreign relations and armed services committees which oversee the Iraq war had between $32 million and $44 million invested in companies with DoD contracts.
The burning questions for many people are the following:

Are there any ethics left in politics?

Could the universe ever exist without wars?

The answer is no, because wars have been a major part of our social make up, in addition they force geostrategic changes, make profits for the elite, and reduce population.

Conflict makes money for the military industrial complex, and the cronies they place in Congress, the Senate, and the White House.

An investigation by Ralph Forbes from American Free press reported on May 05, 2008 that more than a quarter of US senators and congressmen have invested at least $196 million of their own money in companies doing business with the Department of Defense (DoD) that profit from the death and destruction in Iraq

The report also edifies that 151 members of congress invested close to a quarter-billion dollars in companies that received defense contracts of at least $5 million in 2006. These companies got more than 275.6 billion from the government in 2006, or $755 million per day, according to Fedspending.org

The Commission by then had heard of this fabled "paradise" from the Spaniards who were leaving after the Philippines had been purchased from Spain. The Americans were in search of a place of relief from the tropical heat that had become unbearable to the white man. Oh, the contrary: Los Angeles, New York, Chicago or Las Vegas should be warded off. According to the BLS (http://www.bls.gov/news.release/metro.nr0.htm) these cities have experienced the largest over-the-year employment decrease (July 2008-2009). In Los Angeles 240,100 jobs were lost between July 2008 and July 2009; followed by Chicago where 206,200 jobs were lost and New York City at 157,900. Other areas of sizable job losses include Phoenix, Las Vegas and Detroit.

clipper's remarks: Why would the WHO call H1N1 a pandemic? It obviously has not come anywhere near to being as wide-spread as predicted. Is it politically motivated? Anyone have any ideas?

I don’t generally go in for conspiracy theories except to muddy the waters, but I’m thinking this could have been a test to see how many people get behind what the government tells us to do. Or, the government will say that the pandemic was stopped because so many people took the vaccine. Whatever.

Now, a real conspiracy theorist would say that the vaccine was an excuse to inject a tracking device in us.

No matter what WHO (the World Health Organization) wants to call it, this flu is far more political than pandemic.

As Forbes reports: “Nevertheless, because WHO dubbed this a “pandemic,” vaccination plans, emergency response measures and frightening predictions have been based on comparisons with true pandemics that by definition were especially severe. That includes the August report from the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology with its ‘plausible scenario’ of ‘30,000 – 90,000 deaths’ peaking in ‘mid-October.’”

Mid-October? We haven’t been out much lately. How high are the bodies piled up in the streets?

The others charged in the case were identified as Danielle Chiesi, 43, and Mark Kurland, 60, both of New York City.

NEW YORK -One of America's wealthiest men was among six hedge fund managers and corporate executives arrested Friday in a hedge fund insider trading case that prosecutors say reaped more than $20 million in illegal profits and should be a wake-up call for Wall Street.

Raj Rajaratnam, a partner in Galleon Management and a portfolio manager for Galleon Group, a hedge fund with up to $7 billion in assets under management, was accused of conspiring with others to trade based on insider information about several publicly traded companies, including Google Inc.

U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, putting total profits in the scheme at $20.6 million, told a news conference it was the largest hedge fund case ever prosecuted and marked the first use of court-authorized wiretaps to capture conversations by suspects in an insider trading case.

"Greed is not good," Bharara said. "This case should be a wake-up call for Wall Street."

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A local ten-year-old boy is being hailed as a hero. He says he used what he learned in Cub Scouts to save his teacher's life. The amazing young man explained to Eyewitness News how he reacted in an unusual situation with maturity well beyond his years.

Kyle Forbes, 10, is no ordinary kid. Most everyone will agree upon that. But now he's being honored by his school and his Scout troop for springing into action Tuesday to save his teacher's life.

For Hyde Elementary School teacher Sheri Lowe, every day teaching art class now is a gift.

"He saved my life," said Lowe.

It was about 10am Tuesday when she and Kyle were alone in her class. Lowe was eating an apple and choked. They showed us how he reacted.

"And I was choking and he squeezed me like that twice. The first time it didn't work, so he goes, 'I got it, Mrs. Lowe.' And he does it again, and he does it exactly the right way and the apple came out," said Lowe.
