Keep iTunes 8 from Starting Filenames with Track Numbers

By default, when you have iTunes set to automatically organize your music library, it saves the files in an /Artist/Album/Track # Song Title.mp3 format. But, if you don't want that track number stuck in the beginning of your music file names automatically, a quick preference change in iTunes 8 will remove it. Macworld explains that you can fire up Terminal, and type the following commands:

defaults write com.apple.iTunes create-filenames-with-disknumber -bool FALSE
defaults write com.apple.iTunes create-filenames-with-tracknumber -bool FALSE

Then, uncheck iTunes' "Keep iTunes Music Folder Organized" preference, apply, and then re-check that option. At that point iTunes 8 will rename all your music files sans track number prefix. Of course, a backup to your collection before letting iTunes do its thing is prudent, just in case the big rename goes awry. How do you name and organize your music? Until, that is, the Surrealists came along, drew inspiration from his anthropomorphic paintings and touted the artist's name once again. Love me tinder... Red hot model of Elvis Presley made of matches

It is a striking likeness. But beware. Just one stray spark and Elvis becomes a hunk-a-hunk of burning love.

The image of Elvis Presley, along with Marilyn Monroe, Mao Tse Tung, Muhammad Ali and Buddha are the work of Scottish artist David Mach.

It took him more than 500 hours and 1,000 boxes of coloured-tip matches imported from Japan to complete the 2ft Presley sculpture. Each match was glued on to a glass fibre mould.

He also made four smaller Elvis heads, each using around 15,000 coloured matches.

The big Elvis piece has been sold for £18,000.

Boxing match: Muhammad Ali

He produces his matchstick pieces with the help of his wife Lesley and a team of ten artists.

The couple discovered the spectacle of the heads bursting into flames when one accidentally caught fire.

Walls of Money. Over $500,000 has been added to the walls and ceilings of this Irish pub. Would hate to see a fire take out this pub. It started with the first waitress who stapled her first tip to the wall. It has grown since then.

Money Down the Toilet. Yes, this money seat can be yours for only $60. There are many novelty money seats for sale.

100 Million Pennies. It’s called the “Penny Harvest Field”. $1 million dollars worth of pennies were gathered for charity. The exhibit is 30 ft by 165 ft.

What $1 Million Pennies Look Like. 2.3 Tons of pennies sit in this glass box. It is part of a Holocaust memorial.

Portraits Made of Pennies. The artist behind these portraits and other artwork like this is Adrian Firth. The two pieces are called, Lizzie - pennies on mdf board 2008 and Made of Money - pennies on mdf board 2007.

Origami Money. Artist Marc Sky of New Jersey has hundreds of Origami Sculptures made of money. You can order his works online or book him for parties.

has admitted it is a hoax.

Many bloggers and sites had questioned the peculiarity that DHL would make needless loops and route stops

as well as the fact GPS signal could be not traced from inside the aluminum skin of an airliner.

An ambitious effort to determine whether Mars' arctic region once harboured life has begun with the successful landing of NASA's Phoenix probe near the red planet's north pole.

After a nine-month and 680 million-kilometre journey from Earth, Phoenix managed an almost perfect landing on a relatively rock-free, flat target area.

Phoenix was tearing along at 20,400 kilometres per hour as it entered the atmosphere. During the next seven minutes, a heat shield, parachute and fire thruster rockets slowed the craft to a gentle touchdown

"It's down, baby, it's down!," yelled a NASA flight controller, looking at signals from Mars showing that the Phoenix had landed at 9.53am today AEST (Sunday 25 May 23:53 UTC).

By late this afternoon, images were being relayed via the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex at Tidbinbilla.

Come Sunday evening, NASA will have placed some new hardware on Mars. Whether the Phoenix spacecraft lands in one piece or ends up in a number of charred scraps remains to be seen.

The Phoenix Mars Lander is the latest embodiment of humankind's quest to learn whether life might once have been sustainable on the Red Planet and to prepare for eventual human exploration there.

But before it can dig into the surface, Phoenix first has to traverse the Martian atmosphere. Those seven minutes of descent, the very last leg of the months-long journey, could be the killer: the lander, its developers say, faces "seven minutes of terror" before touching down.

Artist Bio

Christopher Conte was born in Bergen, Norway where he began drawing at age 3. At 6, shortly after moving to New York, he began taking college art classes at Hofstra University following a recommendation from his first grade teacher.

Teacher Fired For Private Artistry Settles

A Virginia man fired from his job as a high school art teacher after a video of his work creating paintings using his bare buttocks surfaced on the Internet has reached a $65,000 settlement with his former employer.

Stephen Murmer and the Chesterfield County School Board settled their dispute more than a year after the board fired him from his job at Monacan High School for his private artwork, much of which includes smearing his backside and other body parts with paint and pressing them against canvas. The board unanimously decided to fire him in January 2007 after a YouTube video surfaced that showed him demonstrating his unusual painting technique.

In the video, Mr. Murmer is shown wearing a black swim thong, a Groucho Marx fake-nose mask and a towel on his head.

Mr. Murmer, who now lives in Alabama, said in a statement he hoped his case would make schools think twice before firing a teacher for expressing himself outside the classroom.
