Using a unique applicator and a special latex adhesive, makeup pros install a set of these architectonic master pieces, like the high-end Velvet Feather for about $43 and Yellow Flash or Dazzling Diamante for less than $20. A bit steep, but the lashes can be reused as many as 10 times. Plus, the falsies often have unexpected features. Thus, Hanna Rosin--who has covered religion and politics for the Washington Post, and has also written for the New Yorker, the New Republic, and the New York Times--lamented in a piece for Slate: "So cavalier are conservatives about Sarah Palin's wreck of a home life that they make the rest of us look stuffy and slow-witted by comparison." I suppose it was ungenerous of conservatives, in our broad-mindedness and tolerance of human frailty, to have let Ms. Rosin down, just when she was counting on us to bring out the tar and feathers. But she gives us too much credit when she suggests we make the liberal media look stuffy and slow-witted. They do that all by themselves.

Third: A special thank you to our friends in the liberal media establishment. Who knew they would come through so spectacularly? The ludicrous media feeding frenzy about the Palin family hyped interest in her speech, enabling her to win a huge audience for her smashing success Wednesday night at the convention. Indeed, it even renewed interest in McCain, who seems to have gotten still more viewers for his less smashing--but well-received--presentation the following evening.

The astounding (even to me, after all these years!) smugness and mean-spiritedness of so many in the media engendered not just interest in but sympathy for Palin. It allowed Palin to speak not just to conservatives but to the many Americans who are repulsed by the media's prurient interest in and adolescent snickering about her family. It allowed the McCain-Palin ticket to become the populist standard-bearer against an Obama-Media ticket that has disdain for Middle America.

You will have heard the argument because it surfaces almost every time a doping scandal hits the back pages: if we cannot control performance-enhancing drugs, legalise them. Swing open the door and accept a new kind of level playing field where doping is no longer a crime. The fact that steroids drove Taylor Hooton, a 17-year-old pitcher at a Texas high school, to kill himself should bring the debate to an end.

Then again "my guy" and I were responsible enough to use birth control before marriage and until we were able to afford any children. Of course Palin will help out daughter with the affording part, so it's all good baby. I remember listening to the priest before we got married giving us the big talk about the "rhythm" method; and I was thinking I can't wait to get my rhythm on later baby and I bet he can't either!

Google Chrome - first benchmarks. Summary: wow.

We've got the first comparative benchmarks of Google Chrome, which we downloaded around half an hour ago as the official launch podcast came to an end.

And it is fast, easily topping the chart. In particular, it's more than ten times faster than IE 7, and three times faster than IE8 b2. FF 3.1 comes closest.

When we as pros answer questions, we must give answers so complete, forthcoming, and informative that the questioner is somewhat taken aback — positively.

The change in the way they look at you. You gave them a real answer with an impeccable explanation, and instead of getting served instant pudding, you gave them filet mignon. Talk about separating yourself from the crowd.

Of course, this requires that you actually know the answers. That’s always the challenge, isn’t it?

Here’s something I left out from that original post. When you’ve built of your ‘account’ with excellent answers, the occasional ‘I don’t know’ tends to add to your credibility. However, this only occurs when the client or prospect has already decided you indeed know what the hell you’re talkin’ about.

Here’s what I learned that day.

If possible, give the short answer at first.

Follow that up with an explanation for that answer.

Ensure that explanation is pure substance, with no guessing on your part.

Give an example if possible, illustrating your explanation.

Allow for chronological context if appropriate.

Finally, ask them if your answer was sufficient.

You’ll be surprised how many times that last one generates very solid follow-up questions. When this happens it’s often an indicator they now have more confidence in your expertise and real world knowledge and experience.

Why?

Because in the end, you can’t fake solid substantive answers to real questions. Especially when they’re from folks who are asking those questions in part to ascertain whether you actually know more than they do.

When you can see video clips on podcasts and youtube and read about something from numerous sources directly on your mobile phones - you will leave newspapers, magazines and even books in elusive past.
Now the problem only are a quality of those sources and their tailoring to the needs of each of us. One of possible solution could be comprehensive chart in the end of article and sizable incentives for concerned readers.

Drummer Jason Bonham told a Detroit radio station's morning show on Friday (August 22nd) that he, Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones have been "jamming" together recently and even working on some new music. According to Blabbermouth.net, Bonham told WCSX, "I've been over (to England) a couple of times. I've been working with Jimmy and John Paul and trying to do just do some new material and some writing. I don't know what it will be, but it will be something...At the moment, all I know is I have the great pleasure to go and jam with the two guys and start work on some material."

Bonham, a native of England who now lives in Florida, also revealed that he was giving up his current job with Foreigner at the end of the month.
