When you think of whisky, what images and thoughts does the word conjure up?

Still, one thing is for certain; the scenarios you envisage around the drinking of whiskey are going to be markedly different from how you imagine drinking beer. Beer is a casual, social drink. Knocked back in bars and homes alike, to wash down a burger or to help lubricate cheering on our favorite team.

Whiskey on the other hand is seen as a hard drink. It is a drinker’s drink. The sole preserve of men. It’s serious. It is the opposite end of the spectrum to fruit-based neon-coloured liquids sporting little paper umbrellas.

Cannabis is less harmful than alcohol or tobacco, according to a report by a British research charity Thursday, which called for a "serious rethink" of drug policy.

The Beckley Foundation, a charity which numbers senior British and other academics among its advisors, said banning cannabis has no impact on supply and turns users into criminals.

"Although cannabis can have a negative impact on health, including mental health, in terms of relative harms it is considerably less harmful than alcohol or tobacco," says the report by the Foundation's Global Cannabis Commission.

The Beckley Foundation, a charitable trust, claimed only two deaths worldwide have been attributed to cannabis, while alcohol and tobacco use together kill an estimated 150,000 people in Britain alone.

Many of the harms associated with cannabis use are the result of prohibition itself, particularly the social harms arising from arrest and imprisonment," it said.

In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria found in faeces. In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of Poop.

However, we do not run that risk when drinking wine (or rum, whiskey, beer or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.

Remember:

Water = Poop

Wine = Health

Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of shit.

In humans it generally acts as a depressant with, conversely, mild stimulating effects of some parts of the brain. At low levels of consumption alcohol has minimal effects on a person; at higher levels it leads to disorientation, coma, and death. Most alcohol that is consumed is removed from the body via the liver, which breaks alcohol down before removal. However, alcohol can readily cross any cell membrane. Ethanol is widely used as a solvent and disinfectant. It is used as a solvent because it breaks down many proteins and other molecules, such as lipids, which form the main structure of cell walls. It is used as a disinfectant for the same reasons — it breaks down bacteria and many viruses.

"This is a law that is routinely evaded," said John McCardell, the former president of Middlebury College in Vermont who started the organization. "It is a law that the people at whom it is directed believe is unjust and unfair and discriminatory."

Their presidents and former presidents say that the current law actually encourages binge drinking on campus because it's the first time these students are exposed to alcohol.

Many of these college presidents reason that this age cutoff is bad policy because it drives alcohol use underground where it can’t be observed and can’t be controlled, and that you increase the number who are drinking in secret.

Also, that it is driving students off campus to drink, thereby increasing their chances of being in a traffic accident or getting in trouble.

Texting while driving is more dangerous than being under the influence of alcohol or marijuana.

U.K. researchers used a driving simulator to test motorists between the age of 17 and 24, and found their reaction time was slowed 35 percent as they sent or received texts. Comparably, it only dropped 21 percent under the influence of marijuana, and 12 percent after consuming alcohol.

Texting drivers also saw their steering control suffer at a 91 percent degradation, and had trouble maintaining a safe distance from the cars around them.

Driver of photo-radar van arrested for DUI

SCOTTSDALE - Police arrested the driver of a Redflex photo radar van on suspicion of DUI.

Roderick M. Ruffin, 53, had a blood alcohol content over 0.15 on Saturday while he was driving to Tempe to set up the van, police and company officials said. The legal limit is 0.08, and Ruffin's blood alcohol level is considered an extreme DUI.

The motorist, who claimed to be a retired police officer, told dispatchers he saw the van hit the curb twice and almost collide with the vehicle in front of it, police said.

“On the back of it, it says photo enforcement vehicle on the back and the guy is deuced,” the caller said.

Ruffin was driving the van to Tempe at the time, where he would have put it into operation, said Redflex spokeswoman Shoba Vaitheeswaran.

“We stand by our mission to help improve safety on the roads and we have a zero-tolerance policy for drinking and driving,” Vaitheeswaran said.

SPEEDING is the cause of 30 percent of all traffic deaths in the United States — about 13,000 people a year. By comparison, alcohol is blamed 39 percent of the time, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. But unlike drinking, which requires the police, breathalyzers and coercion to improve drivers’ behavior, there’s a simple way to prevent speeding: quit building cars that can exceed the speed limit.

Most cars can travel over 100 miles an hour — an illegal speed in every state. Our continued, deliberate production of potentially law-breaking devices has no real precedent.

You are NOT hallucinating and this is not a camera trick, the man singing and dancing above IS Joe Biden, and as can be easily assessed, he is disgustingly DRUNK.

After trying to paint Palin as an “inexperienced” candidate, a clearly ridiculous attempt since their main candidate fares far worse than her in this aspect, they are now trimming down their attack to only one complaint: “She doesn’t have ANY National Security experience!”
