Yet this should hardly be read as an indication that diet can play no part in either helping or harming those suffering from the disorder.

Clip Source: www.myfibro.com

The best advice is to remember that you are what you eat, according to the old saying, and that food choices influence how you feel. Maintaining a healthy, well-balanced diet full of plenty of fruit and vegetables and low in the likes of saturated fat will make you feel better, physically and mentally, as well as help you to avoid developing any other health problems. It may or may not alleviate any of your symptoms, but it certainly won't make them any worse. The same can not be said for an unhealthy diet, especially one in which you eat foods that can exacerbate symptoms.

Here are some suggested dietary choices, but keep in mind that these are suggestions culled from a variety of sources with little to no clinical evidence supporting them at best, many are anecdotal. The most prudent advice is to find out what works best for you and stick with that.

Home

What is Fibromyalgia?

Cause

Symptoms

Diagnosis

Pain

Fatigue

Treatment

We present the following information for general education purposes only.

Clip Source: www.myfibro.com

Fibromyalgia treatment is focused on relieving symptoms and providing relief from pain. But of course your local and MSM news parrot whatever the CDC says while this is a multi-million dollar industry that cannot prevent you from getting the flu. The logic in this article is plain enough.

Notice the emotionally charged, fear-mongering messages and ads used to press people into lining up, including many messages that say "they could save your life, or the life of your children or loved one". What absolute hype that plays on fear, when the shot cannot prevent getting the flu!

To see how profitable an industry this is read about Donald Rumsfeld and Tamiflu.

People feel safer with their placebo-type flu shot that cannot and will not prevent them from contracting the flu. The statements made by government and media on the subject are irresponsible hype and absolutely misleading about its effectiveness.

Clip Source: ezinearticles.com

Is Flu Shot Vaccination Really Useful?
By Wellyn Leu

The question; Is flu shot vaccination really useful? Well, let's take a quick look from the source, in this case is the Influenza virus that cause flu in the first place. There are currently 2 types of Influenza viruses, Type A & Type B.

influenza viruses are constantly changing through a process called "antigenic drift". This is a continuous & spontaneous mutations process in the viral RNA.

a host infected with influenza virus develops antibody against that virus; as the virus changes, the "first" antibody no longer recognizes the "newer" virus and reinfection can occur.

So, what that really mean is flu shot cannot really prevent you from getting a flu because it depends what type of viruses you are infected with. In addition, the Influenza viruses changes very rapidly which makes the vaccination to be somewhat obsolete.

it most likely have very little effect against current viruses.

You can get a flu after the flu shot

Tags: flu, flu shot, cdc, health, doctors, flu season

<clipSource>http://ezinearticles.com/?Is-Flu-Shot-Vaccination-Really-Useful?&id=1552834</clipSource>

Italian Woman in Right-to-Die Case Worsens

clipped by: wiccantexan

Clip Source: abcnews.go.com

The condition of an Italian woman at the center of a right-to-die case worsened after she suffered a massive hemorrhage, doctors said Saturday.

Eluana Englaro has been in a vegetative state for 16 years and her father has led a protracted court battle to disconnect her feeding tube, insisting it was her wish.

This summer a Milan court granted his request, setting off a political storm in this overwhelmingly Roman Catholic country. Italy does not allow euthanasia, but patients have a right to refuse treatment.

Catholic and anti-euthanasia groups protested the ruling by leaving bottles of water in front of Milan's Duomo cathedral. Prosecutors appealed the decision and the father pledged not to disconnect the tube before Italy's high court weighed in.

Englaro was 20 years old when she fell into a vegetative state following a car accident in 1992. Two years later, doctors called her condition irreversible.

Tags: death, rights, legal, health, family

<clipSource>http://abcnews.go.com/Health/wireStory?id=6011688</clipSource>

Vote to Decide on Lethal Meds for Dying Patients

clipped by: wiccantexan

Clip Source: www.foxnews.com

The emotionally charged battle over end-of-life decisions has taken to the airwaves as Washington state voters decide whether to allow doctors to prescribe lethal medication to terminally ill patients.

Recent TV and radio ads by opponents feature actor Martin Sheen, who calls the measure a "dangerous idea" that could be used by the most vulnerable in society. A Canadian study found that this technique reduces toothache pain by as much as 50 percent compared with using no ice. The nerve pathways at the base of that V stimulate an area of the brain that blocks pain signals from the face and hands.

10. This puts downward pressure on your liver (which lives on your right side), which then tugs at the diaphragm and creates a side stitch, according to The Doctors Book of Home Remedies for Men. The fix: Exhale as your left foot strikes the ground.

<clipSource>http://greensboring.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=5723</clipSource>

Widow sues US over Iraq veteran's suicide

clipped by: tabsey
clipper's remarks: Excellent motives for her actions.

Clip Source: www.theage.com.au

The widow of an Iraq war veteran who committed suicide while in outpatient care for depression at a Veterans Administration hospital has sued the federal government for negligence.

Tiera Woodward, 26, claims in her lawsuit that her late husband, Donald, sought treatment at a VA hospital in Lebanon after three failed suicide attempts but was not seen by a psychiatrist for more than two months.

She says doctors were slow to diagnose her husband with major depression, and that once the diagnosis was made, a psychiatrist failed to schedule a follow-up meeting with her husband after he informed the doctor he had gone off his medication.

Donald Woodward killed himself in March 2006 at age 23.

"I intend to make them make changes," said Donald Woodward's mother, Lori Woodward. It is unique among all other living will and health agent forms because it looks to all of a person's needs: medical, personal, emotional and spiritual. Five Wishes also encourages discussing your wishes with your family and physician.

Five Wishes lets your family and doctors know:
1. Which person you want to make health care decisions for you when you can't make them.
2. The kind of medical treatment you want or don't want.
3. How comfortable you want to be.
4. How you want people to treat you.
5. What you want your loved ones to know.
…
The document speaks to people in their own language, not in "doctor speak" or "lawyer talk." It can be used in the living room instead of the emergency room. And it helps families talk with their physician about a difficult subject.

Clip Source: www.agingwithdignity.org

Something is terribly wrong: The
majority of Americans prefer to die at home surrounded by family and
friends, but too many end up dying in the hospital or nursing home,
surrounded and cared for by strangers.
Half of Americans die in pain that could have been treated.
The sick and elderly have come to fear losing their dignity or burdening
their families even more than they fear death.

In 1997
Aging with Dignity introduced the Five Wishes advance
directive in Florida, and a year later, to the nation. Five
Wishes proved immediately popular because it is written in plain
English, not medical or legal jargon, and helps people express in
their own words their wishes for the kind of care they want in
advance of a serious illness. Five Wishes is a
            legally-valid tool you can use
to ensure your wishes and those of your loved ones will be
respected even if you can't speak for yourself.

Tags: aging, health, medicine, medical, illness, death, advance-directive, living-will

<clipSource>http://www.agingwithdignity.org/</clipSource>

Parents charged in death of 16 yr old

clipped by: tommy2balmy
clipper's remarks: Their case has focused attention on some laws that let parents rely on prayer to heal their children. Marci Hamilton, a professor at Cardozo Law School, who writes about religious issues, said the case may test Oregon's religious freedom laws and may prompt other states to re-examine their spiritual healing laws.

"There was a time when we were willing to permit these children to be lost, but there are increasingly more prosecutions and lawsuits," she said. "Children should not be permitted to be the testing ground for their parents' faith or secular views if it's going to result in their death."

Clip Source: abcnews.go.com

The prosecution of an Oregon couple who allegedly tried to heal their dying son with prayer has focused attention on laws that, in some cases, allow parents to treat their children with faith.

Jeffrey Dean Beagley, 50, and Marci Rae Beagley, 46, pleaded not guilty on Friday to criminally negligent homicide charges in the death of their son, 16-year-old Neil Jeffrey Beagley.

Neil died June 17 from complications of a urinary tract blockage, according to medical examiners. The condition, which doctors say is easily treatable, caused kidney and heart failure.

The Beagleys belong to a religious sect known as the Followers of Christ Church, which rejects medical treatment and, instead, relies on prayer. Several relatives who were with Neil Beagley at the time of his death told police that he had refused medical care, according to the Gladstone, Ore., police.
