Some organizations, however, aren’t convinced that a more flexible and mobile workforce is necessarily a good idea. They worry that employees with too much freedom won’t get the work done. Which raises this question: should your company be moving toward enabling the workplace of tomorrow – or is business as usual the right choice for now? Here’s the debate:

Tags: jobs, organization, workforce

<clipSource>http://www.deloitte.com/view/en_US/us/Insights/Browse-by-Content-Type/Deloitte-Debates/article/f7b3e7d76a594210VgnVCM200000bb42f00aRCRD.htm</clipSource>

Consent will be required for cookies in Europe

clipped by: HansWobbe

Clip Source: www.out-law.com

Consent will be required for cookies in Europe

EDITORIAL: A law that demands consent to internet cookies has

only the rubber-stamp formalities of signature and publication.

Tags: :p, privacy

<clipSource>http://www.out-law.com/page-10510</clipSource>

Go Wild at the World Wilderness Congress—Without Leaving Home

clipped by: Stumblerz
clipper's remarks: If you aren't attending WILD9--the weeklong World Wilderness Congress (November 6-13) that will bring together many of

Clip Source: environment.about.com

Go Wild at the World Wilderness Congress—Without Leaving Home

If you aren't attending WILD9--the weeklong World Wilderness Congress (November 6-13) that will bring together many of the world's leading conservationists and wilderness experts to debate and take action on critical environmental issues--you can still pull up a chair and join in through a variety of social networking tools that The WILD Foundation is using to broaden global participation in the event.

<clipSource>http://environment.about.com/b/2009/10/30/world-wilderness-congress.htm</clipSource>

Artificial snowstorm brings chaos to Beijing

clipped by: tabsey
clipper's remarks: It may be messing with nature in a big way, but it also may be handy in areas where rainfall has dropped. Mr. Faye, an associate professor at the University of Paris, Nanterre, not only wants to drum Heidegger from the ranks of philosophers, he wants to challenge his colleagues to rethink the very purpose of philosophy and its relationship to ethics.

<clipSource>http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/09/books/09philosophy.html?_r=1&ref=todayspaper#</clipSource>

YOUNG OFFENDERS LOCKED UP FOR LIFE

clipped by: ellington
clipper's remarks: IS LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE CRUEL AND UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT FOR JUVENILE OFFENDERS CONVICTED OF NON-HOMICIDE CRIMES,

Clip Source: roomfordebate.blogs.nytimes.com

Young Offenders Locked Up for Life

Terrance Graham, left, at 15 in 2002. Akhter argued, “Jihad means an inner struggle, fighting against corruption and injustice.”

The young doctor responded. “That’s not a correct interpretation. Jihad means holy war. When your religion isn’t safe, you have to fight for it. If someone attacks you, you must fight them. That is jihad. You can kill someone who is harming you.”

The conversation would be just another theological debate, interesting but irrelevant, except that the doctor was Maj. Obama said the "historic" passage marked a "courageous vote" for many representatives, given the toxicity of the debate surrounding the bill, and predicted that lawmakers will view the eventual signing of the legislation as their "finest moment" in public service.

"Now it falls on the United States Senate to take the baton and bring this effort to the finish line on behalf of the American people," Obama said. "And I'm absolutely confident that they will."

Tags: healthcare

<clipSource>http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/11/08/obama-house-passage-health-care-reform-courageous-vote/</clipSource>
