Bright House Not Looking So Bright

As I write this, the battle between LIN Television and Bright House Networks continues into its second day. The parent company of WISH-TV (Channel 8), WNDY-TV (Channel 23), WIIH-TV (Channel 17) and the LWS Cable Channel is at odds with the company that provides cable television service to around 135,000 customers in Indianapolis’ center city and outlying northern suburbs.

Neither side could agree to terms moving forward on carriage of the television stations and cable channel, so all of them are no longer being provided to Bright House’s customers, of which I am one. No CBS. That means no CSI…no David Letterman…no Katie Couric. (OK, two out of three ain’t bad.)

I know my biases are showing, big time. But, I’m a strong believer that anyone who takes a product and resells it should compensate the rights holder, in this case, LIN-TV. It would be akin to someone renting a DVD at Blockbuster and charging people to watch it in a theater. That’s illegal.

I-Tech's Laser Keyboard (2006) ... this futuristic-looking "virtual keyboard" is designed for use with mobile devices. It projects an image of keys onto a flat surface using two lasers - one laser projects the image, while the other records your finger movements over the keys. It sends data to a nearby device using Bluetooth, so you don't have to fiddle with a mobile phone keypad. I-Tech's keyboard is so unique that it even made a cameo in the TV show CSI: Miami / Katrina Tepper

"CSI": William Petersen Off The Case

(AP) William Petersen is leaving "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," a move that might have fans of his brainy crimebuster Gil Grissom screaming bloody murder.

Petersen has agreed to return for occasional guest appearances and will remain a "CSI" executive producer but his run as an original cast member will end this coming season, executive producers Carol Mendelsohn and Naren Shankar said Tuesday.

The air date for his final episode, the season's 10th, has yet to be determined but probably will be at the beginning of 2009, the producers said. The series debuted in fall 2000.

The decision to leave was Petersen's, the producers said, declining further comment. A call to Petersen's publicist was not returned Tuesday.

The actor had taken a break during the 2006-07 season to perform in a play, with Liev Schreiber stepping in as a visiting investigator.

But with the physical specimens in the hands of Darwinists, who claim they will get around to the sequencing at some unspecifed future time, how can we trust that this data will be forthcoming and forthright?
