Los jovenes latinoamericanos se sienten discrimados

El joven latinoamericano promedio es una persona muy desconfiada; que vive con una sensación de discriminación bastante elevada y a quien la democracia no parece seducir del todo. Pero al mismo tiempo, y paradójicamente, cree en la movilidad social a partir del esfuerzo individual; suele estar orgulloso de su país y es muy optimista frente al futuro inmediato y de largo plazo.

Otro dato que llama la atención es la alta proporción de jóvenes que dicen sentirse discriminados: 69 por ciento, con República Dominicana, Ecuador y Bolivia a la cabeza.

Las principales causas por las que se sienten así son la pobreza (20,4 por ciento) y el no tener suficiente educación (10,9 por ciento). Pero hay otras. En Colombia, por ejemplo, la principal razón por la cual los menores de 30 se sienten discriminados es la falta de contactos o 'palancas' (18,8 por ciento): la cifra más alta a nivel regional por este concepto.

If he expands the quagmires in Afghanistan and Pakistan, we will have to oppose those wasteful wars as well.

Our adversaries, who once favored monarchy and then white supremacy, have done a successful makeover and attempted to steal the banner of democracy. For example, they are exuberant about imposing democracy by force across the Middle East and to the borders of Russia, but they show no enthusiasm for the democratic process sweeping away the former dictatorships that our government backed in Latin America. Our government is opposed to democracy on our borders if those democracies reject our military bases, our special forces and our corporate dominance over their resources and services. Venezuela, Bolivia and, of course, Cuba are being targeted for isolation and subversion, while Colombia is the American spear in the Andes.

I am campaigning for and voting for Barack Obama not because I agree with him on every foreign policy issue

NEW YORK -- A group of drag queens is suing Rockefeller Center and owner Tishman Speyer, accusing plaza authorities of discriminating against them because of their outfits, according to The Daily News.

One of the drag queens, whose show name is Indiana Jones, told the Daily News that the members of the Miss Chiva Colombia team were told they were not allowed to take pictures in the plaza, while plenty of other people were taking pictures.
