clipper's remarks: I've had to struggle with my tagline on this blog because I could never figure out what I want people to know about me. What is my key selling point? That has been the issue for me. What is it that I do or wish to be known for doing? In other words, what do I want my personal brand to be?

For a while, my tag line has been "Life Without a Manual". After some thought, do I really want people to know that I'm making things up as I go? I like McGyver, but I think that type of improvisation is unsettling for future employers. So, I've had to rethink my message. For now, I'm going with "The Computer Guy" to help me get computer service jobs. However, I think I could substitute technology or new media in the tagline in the future.

What's your tag line? Does it brand you properly?

When CocaCola was a young softdrink company, they were faced with a problem. People

had no idea what CocaCola was and what they should do with it.

So some smart marketing executive at CocaCola came up with a solution. Tag one single word to all the billboards and other advertisements. The tag word was very simple. And it told people exactly what CocaCola is and what they should do with it. The tag word?

“Drink”

Unfortunately, not many products - especially blogs - can convey their message with just one word. A whole line is usually required. The Tag Line is the answer.

Your tag line helps people know what your blog is about.

Three Steps to Create a Powerful Tag Line:

1. Mention what your blog offers

2. Mention how you take care of the downside (optional)

3. Don’t mention anything else.

At another convention Mark Prendergrast notes "Then Keith ordered a mass Sieg-Heil for Hitler's recent fiftieth birthday, to commemorate our deepest admiration and gratitude for our Fuhrer who has led our nation into a brilliant higher sphere."

On the 29th June 1943 General Dwight D Eisenhower ordered three million bottles of Coca Cola to be sent to the allies in North Africa.

Plant and machinery for down town bottling plants were also sent so another three million bottles could be sent to the troops every six months.

By the end of the hostilities five billion bottles or cans of Coca Cola had been drunk.

Coca Cola had not only lifted the spirits of the US Armed Forces, it had also introduced itself to new markets. When the war ended the bottling plants and a little bit of America stayed too.

THE PEACE EFFORT

When Eisenhower became President of the USA in 1953, he remembered Coca Cola's response to his call. He rewarded the company with a contract to supply all White House banquets.

Both Presidents Kennedy and Carter also enjoyed Coca Cola. Carter used his influence to help it break into the difficult market of China.

Open Cola - La coca cola fatta in casa identica all’originale.

Dopo la nutella, adesso vi do la ricetta per farvi la coca cola in casa.

La formula era segreta.

Ora non lo è più.

Ingredienti per l’essenza:

3,50 ml olio d’arancia; 1,00 ml olio di limone; 1,00 ml olio di noce moscata; 1,25 ml olio di cassia; 0,25 ml olio di coriandolo; 0,25 ml olio di neroli; 2,75 ml olio di lime; 0,25 ml olio di lavanda; 10 g di gomma arabica; 3 ml di acqua.

Ingredienti per lo sciroppo: 2 cucchiai di essenza (sopra indicata) 3 e 1/2 cucchiai di acido citrico; 2,28 l di acqua; 2,36 Kg di zucchero bianco granulare; 1/2 cucchiaino di caffeina, circa 20 ml (opzionale) 30 ml di caramello.

Preparazione dell’essenza. Miscelate gli oli in un recipiente ad esempio una tazza. Aggiungete la gomma arabica e mescolateli con un cucchiaio. Aggiungete l’acqua e amalgamate il composto con molta cura.

In alternativa potete utilizzare anche un mixer e frullare il tutto per 5 minuti. La miscela può essere tenuta in frigo in un contenitore sigillato oppure a temperatura ambiente.

Preparazione dello sciroppo. Aggiungete a 5 millilitri di essenza i 3 cucchiai e mezzo di acido citrico, poi l’acqua e infine lo zucchero. Se preferite potete aggiungere la caffeina facendo attenzione a scioglierla molto bene. Aggiungete poi i 30 ml di caramello. Per finire la vostra Cola Cola dovete calcolare per ogni parte di sciroppo 5 parti di acqua gassata. La coca-cola è pronta!

YouTube Stars Cashing In: The top YouTube users, including LisaNova, Geriatric1927 and Renetto, did indeed get paid for promoting Coke’s Holiday WishCast - we still don’t know the amount. Meanwhile, LisaNova is being paid to create unique content for a site called The Daily Reel, it was announced on Wednesday. With that in mind, the rewards of gaming YouTube have become even greater.

Digg Payola? Digg can be huge traffic source for websites, and some of the top Diggers are (allegedly) cashing in on their influence. The 7th Digg user was banned a few days ago, although it seems no money had changed hands at that point. Now the 13th user has also been banned, and some are linking the two issues. It’s well-known that some Digg users are taking cash, but we’ve got to be cautious when we start singling out individuals. The question is: should Digg ban certain users, or create a system that rewards dedicated use? [via Pronet]
