Death threats force removal of atheist billboard

"Don't believe in God? You're not alone." was the message on a billboard put up by the Cincinnati Coalition of Reason (Cin CoR) on Reading Road at 12th Street, one block south of Liberty Street in Cincinnati. It went up on Tuesday but by Wednesday afternoon the group was told it would have to come down again. Lamar Advertising, the company that owns the billboard, leases the land on which it stands and the landowner wanted it taken down. He (or she) had been receiving death threats. Fred Edwords, national director of the United Coalition of Reason, said, "We weren't given the landowner's name or precise details, Nor did we pursue them. It was sufficient to learn that this person had received multiple, significant threats and that Lamar would act quickly to alleviate the problem. Nothing like this has ever happened to us before."

You can rely on God to cleanse you.

Forgiveness brings people together.

Conclusion: The problem of sin has been solved by the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ—not only the sins of your past, but the sins of your future as well.

Lipstick contains lead. Lead is a chemical which causes cancer. The higher the lead content, the greater the chance of causing cancer.

Lead is a potent neurotoxin linked to a variety of health and reproductive problems, including learning language and behavioral problems. Lead is also linked to infertility and miscarriage.

Pregnant women and young children are particularly vulnerable to exposure because lead easily crosses the placenta and enters the fetal brain, where it interferes with normal development.

Lead has been eliminated from paint, gasoline and many other products for good reason and now we must demad lead-free cosmetics.

The internet has added a wonderful new dimension to the world of bookstores on line with people now able to comfortably shop for their favorite books online.

Some of the better known outlets such as Boarders bookstores and Barnes And Noble bookstores offer shoppers an excellent choice of books in all categories but there was a time when you would have to actually visit these stores to find your favorite reading material.

Now it can be done from the comfort of your own home and while many still like to visit book outlets in person because of their excellent amenities, the truth is, in a busy world, being able to search online for your book, order it and have it delivered straight to your door saves an enormous amount of time.

India: Estimates are 70,000 believers left homeless by violence

The Voice of the Martyrs, in fact, has estimated that more than 70,000 Christians already have been left homeless in India by Hindu radicals.

Among the groups are the Abhinav Bharat (Pride of India), the Rashtriya Jagran Manch (National Revival Forum), the Sri Ram Sena (army of the god Rama), the Hindu Dharam Sena (Army for Hindu Religion) and the Sanatan Sanstha (Eternal Organization), and critics say they are breakaway groups from the Rashtriya Swayaamsevak Sangh (the RSS).

The Sanatan Sanstha has already earned such a radical reputation that India's anti-terrorism bureau has said the group should be banned.

WND recently reported in one part of India, Hindu extremists have been offering money, food and alcohol to anyone who murders Christians and destroys their homes.

Faiz Rahman, chairman of Good News India, said the going price for Hindu militants to target Christian leaders is $250.

A Muslim fanatic, known to the FBI as a fan of suicide bombers and to colleagues as an opponent of our government, coolly buys weapons, heads to a military facilityhe knows will be packed with unsuspecting soldiers, waits for the crowd to thicken, then shouts, “Allah is great!” and guns down 51 patriots, calmly reloading among the dead and dying.

But don’t rush to judgment.

Imagine if, instead of Fort Hood, the massacre had gone down at a mosque in Detroit — carried out by a maddened Christian or Jew. Obama would’ve been aboard Air Force One before the pilots had time to file a flight plan and he would’ve been on site before the gun smoke cleared, hugging and boo-hooing and dispensing stirring rhetoric for the evening news.

Right there on the front page of the Oct. 23 Washington Post, "senior administration officials" attributed the predicted defeat on Election Day -- then still a week and a half off -- of Virginia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Creigh Deeds to Deeds' failure to seek and heed advice from the Obama White House.

All of these rationalizations and excuses are baloney, bunk and bushwa. Off-year elections do matter, especially psychologically. Victories help fundraising, help candidate recruitment and lift party morale. Defeat can leave in its wake anxiety, even panic in party ranks. As Bill McInturff, the trusted Republican pollster, told reporters at a breakfast hosted by the Christian Science Monitor, "You cannot imagine the carnage of losing 54 House seats (the number Republicans lost between the 2006-08 elections)."

Metzger suggests that the final solution to the problem of consumerism lies ultimately in the banquet table of the Lord, the table to which all are called and at which all are welcome.
