Come back every day until November 15th and check out a Bundt cake. I'm not crazy enough to bake and post on the same day so I've been working on this for a week and the library is like a Bundt den. I just hope I can finish...you'll give me lots of encouragement, right?!

Curtas do Senhor Oscar: Novo pôster de Alice no País das Maravilhas

Mais um pôster de Alice no País das Maravilhas, do diretor Tim Burton (A Fantástica Fábrica de Chocolate) caiu na web. Nele, vemos a protagonista e o famoso Coelho Branco.

A adaptação do clássico mostrará Alice, agora com 17 anos, fugindo de um pedido de casamento e retornando ao País das Maravilhas, após seguir o coelho branco.

Johnny Deep, Anne Hathaway, Christopher Lee e a excelente Helena Bonham Carter estão no elenco da animação.

Um terceiro pôster deve ser lançado nos próximos dias. Aguarde!

Milk Chocolate-Peanut Butter Bark

INGREDIENTS

1	cup milk chocolate chips
1	cup peanut butter chips
1/2	cup chopped salted peanuts

DIRECTIONS

1.	Line cookie sheet with foil. In medium saucepan, melt chocolate chips and peanut butter chips over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat.
2.	Stir in peanuts. Spread to 1/4-inch thickness on foil-lined cookie sheet. Refrigerate about 30 minutes or until set. Break into pieces.

1/2 cup of hulled, unsalted pumpkin seeds

1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, plus a dash extra

3/4 teaspoon of cinnamon, plus a dash extra

3/4 teaspoon of ancho chili powder, plus a dash extra

12 oz. of bitter or semi-sweet chocolate

Place the pumpkin seeds in a skillet over medium-low heat. Toast the pumpkin seeds for about 5 minutes, they'll pop and jump a bit as they release their oils and moisture. Allow to cool.

Melt the chocolate according to the manufacturer's directions. Once melted add the cinnamon, cayenne pepper, ancho chili powder, and most of the pumpkin seeds saving some to decorate the top with.

Spread onto a flat baking pan lined with a silpat or wax paper. Sprinkle over and press into the chocolate the last few pumpkin seeds and sprinkle on a dash more of the spices for color and taste. Place in the freezer for 5 minutes or until hardened.

Break into pieces and serve or store in the fridge in an airtight container. Best consumed in one or two days.

Move over, red wine. Make room for chocolate milk. A new study suggests that regular consumption of skim milk with flavonoid-rich cocoa may reduce inflammation, potentially slowing or preventing development of atherosclerosis. Researchers noted, however, that the effect was not as pronounced as that seen with red wine.

Participants also had significantly higher levels of good HDL cholesterol after completing the chocolate milk regimen, according to the study, which appears in the November issue of The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition and is already online.

“Since atherosclerosis is a low-grade inflammatory disease of the arteries, regular cocoa intake seems to prevent or reduce” it, said Dr. Ramón Estruch of the University of Barcelona, the paper’s senior author, adding that more studies were needed.
