Verizon's Cheat Sheet For Battling AT&T, iPhone

clipper's remarks: Oops! Verizon obviously didn't plan for this flyer--essentially a list of anti-iPhone talking points for its employees--to become public. While the specifics are interesting--there are a lot of exclamatory points!--it's not surprising that the company drew up such a list. I'm sure plenty of consumers walk into Verizon stores inquiring about the iPhone. It's sound business to prepare your employees for such conversations.

Oh, deary deary me... Verizon's tactics to combat the JesusPhone 3G now include briefing its employees about the iPhone's failings, so they can answer customer questions about why it doesn't carry the device. There are four big "myths" about the cellphone apparently, ranging from "twice as fast" to "iPhone data plan covers all data," there's even a dig about the lack of audible turn-by-turn GPS navigation. Hasn't Verizon worked out that that's just an app, and is a facility that may yet be added in the future?

My fave "mythbusting" point has to be that the iPhone 3G "will be twice as fast only where AT&T has 3G coverage!" No shit... like, you can only run trains on train tracks? OK, so it's really a dig at AT&T's 3G coverage, but you get my point.

This has apparently been distributed within Verizon, and though there's the possibility that it's not quite legit, it certainly seems the real deal to me.

URL rewriting can be one of the best and quickest ways to improve the usability and search friendliness of your site. It can also be the source of near-unending misery and suffering. Definitely worth playing carefully with it - lots of testing is recommended. With great power comes great responsibility, and all that.

With the release of Firefox 3, I thought I would share my top ten Firefox shortcuts. So without further ado, here they are:

⌘ + l = focus address bar
⌘ + d = bookmark current page
⌘ + k = focus google search bar
⌘ + f = find
⌘ + g = find next
⌘ + t = new tab
⌘ + w = close current tab
⌘ + shift + t = reopen accidentally closed tab (Best one ever!)
crtl + tab = tab through tabs
crtl + shift + tab = tab backwards through tabs

Bonus for Delicious Extension users:

⌘ + Shift + . = pulls delicious page if you have delicious firefox extension installed

These leaked juice like crazy so if you make them, bake them on parchment paper and use another sheet in the rack below to catch the juice. I used the apple galette crust recipe from my cheat sheet and for the filling combined 4 cups chopped rhubarb, 1 cup sugar, 4 tablespoons flour, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. I doubled the batch of everything because grammie got such amazing rhubarb at the farmers market. What I just listed above is for a single batch. Bake for 15 minutes at 425 degrees, then 25 min at 350 degrees.

Add a hot cup of coffee and we think it's a complete meal.
