After two weeks of steady battle, these 10 photos have emerged victorious. Alan M won the contest with his photo "Eye of a Tokay Gecko" at left. Mr. M will be receiving a subscription to Wired magazine and a digital picture frame for his desk.

Clip Source: www.wired.com

Clip Source: www.wired.com

"Close-up of a wet leaf ... taken with a Canon Powershot A610 :)"

Clip Source: www.wired.com

Clip Source: www.wired.com

"A close-up of the water emerging from a fountain pipe, which formed this 'head.'"

Clip Source: www.wired.com

"Nikon d50, 50mm f/1.8 with extension tubes. It's there for me every day. And the things it brings me are quite apparent all the time: heat, light, food, a lovely day. There's no mystery, no one asks for money, I don't have to dress up, and there's no boring pageantry. And interestingly enough, I have found that the prayers I offer to the sun and the prayers I formerly offered to God are all answered at about the same 50-percent rate.

Clip Source: edkrebs.com

George Carlin

From a diatribe on Advertising and Bullshit:

...But in the Bullshit Department, the businessman can't hold a candle
to a clergyman. 'Cause I gotta tell ya the truth, folks, when it comes
to Bullshit, big time, major league BULLSHIT, you have to stand in awe, in awe, of the
all time champion of false promises and exaggerated claims: RELIGION! .... No contest, no contest!!

(thunderous applause)

Life is sacred? Who said so, God? Hey, if you read history you'll
realize that God is one of the leading causes of death...has been for thousands of years. Hindus,
Muslims, Christians, Jews, all taking turns killing each other because
God told them it was a good idea.

Instead of school busing and prayer in schools, which are both
controversial, why not a joint solution? Prayer in buses. Just drive these kids around
all day and let them pray their fuckn' empty little heads off.

I've begun worshipping the Sun for a number of reasons. First of all,
unlike some other gods I could mention,

Tags: george carlin

<clipSource>http://edkrebs.com/herb/</clipSource>

Candles By Victoria Message Board

clipped by: cbvictoria

Clip Source: cbvictoria.proboards91.com

Candles By Victoria Message Board

Tags: candle contest, candles, candles by victoria, contest, hand poured candles, homemade candle, homemade candles, maximum scented candles, pillar candles

<clipSource>http://cbvictoria.proboards91.com/index.cgi?</clipSource>

George Carlin on God

clipped by: swampfoxz
clipper's remarks: In the Bullshit Department, a businessman can't hold a candle to a clergyman. 'Cause I gotta tell you the truth, folks. When it comes to bullshit, big-time, major league bullshit, you have to stand in awe of the all-time champion of false promises and exaggerated claims: religion. No contest. No contest. Religion. Religion easily has the greatest bullshit story ever told.

Clip Source: www.positiveatheism.org

Think about it. Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man -- living in the sky -- who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!
But He loves you.
He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money! Religion takes in billions of dollars, they pay no taxes, and they always need a little more. Now, you talk about a good bullshit story. Holy Shit!
...But in the Bullshit Department, the businessman can't hold a candle
to a clergyman.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

Tags: religion

<clipSource>http://edkrebs.com/herb/</clipSource>

asian americans for Community Services

clipped by: lvananh

Clip Source: groups.yahoo.com
