A US boy is not going back to school - after he was declared the reincarnation of a Buddhist holy man who first died in 1250.

Boston-born Jigme Wangchuk, 11, has now moved to India where he has been made the head of a Buddhist sect in the country's eastern Darjeeling city.

His parents say they discovered their son was not like other children two years ago when he started talking about his "past life". At first, they dismissed it as a childish fantasy, but began taking it seriously during a trip to a monastery in Mysore, southern India. At one point, he went into a trance in which he described a celebrated Buddhist monastery with a 35ft dragon on the roof.

 The

 It

 when

 Then
 there
 was
 no

 because
 there
 was
 no

 Both
 were

 Past
 is

 future
 is
 in

 they
 are

 If

 Then
 there
 was
 no
 future,
 no
 past,
 no
 mind.
 I
 was
 mindless,
 I
 was
 I-less.
 Then
 something
 happened,
 and
 I
 cannot
 say
 that
 this
 something
 happened
 in
 that
 moment.
 I
 can
 only
 say
 that
 this
 was
 always
 happening,
 only
 I
 was
 not

 It
 was

Our list features actual statues as well as destroyed and planned ones but all have to be taller than 50 m (165 ft). Where does that leave the most famous and sadly destroyed ones, the Buddhas of Bamyan? At 180 ft, they are some of the shortest! Read on to discover which one tops the list. A hint: it’s a good 500 ft!

Have you ever wondered why some Buddhas are depicted standing, some seated and some even lying down? And why they all pose their hands in unique gestures? Not to forget the sheer number of gigantic statues. Well, according to tradition, Buddha images must be high enough so that their feet are above people’s eye level to avoid any accidental soiling.

Clip Source: www.copytaste.com

thisnamecantbetaken
clipper's remarks: Worship of intellect is trusting your own intellect AND other's intellect, especially in the fields you do not have enough knowledge. Intellectual honesty and its worship have been corner stones of Hindu thought.

'Fully THINK (ponder) on what I said and then do as YOU deem fit'. Indian scriptures ask 'Drushtipootam nyasetpaadam, vastra pootam pibet jalam' - Look (think) before you leap (embark on any activity) and 'filter the water with a cloth before you drink'.

Kathopanashad calls intellect as the charioteer. Body is a chariot, Indriyas (sense/connotative organs) are horses, mind is the reins to be used to control them, Atman (Self) is the rider within, and Vishay (objects of senses) are the tracks on which horses run.

It asks us to overcome the ego, be selfless, yet asks to do all actions/ work/ worship with intellect.

Clip Source: www.hindunet.org

The 'Red dot' on the forehead is not always only red and nor is it always a
dot. The dot is called 'Kumkum' or 'Bindi', and when worn by men it is called
'Tilak' (mark).

Like all Hindu symbols,'red dot' has multiple meanings which are all valid at
the same time.

By one simple interpretation it is a cosmetic mark used to enhance beauty.

In meditation, this very spot between the eyebrows (Bhrumadhya) is where one
focusses his/her sight, so that it helps concentration. Most images of Buddha or
Hindu divinites in meditative pose with their eyes nearly closed show the gaze
focussed between eyebrows

this 'Ajna Chakra' is also
called as the 'Third eye'. This center is connected with the sacred syllable
'Om'

an act of
worship to the inner Guru to overcome ego. It is also the same reason why
married women wear the 'red dot'.

the red dot is considered a sign of '
Soubhagya (good fortune)'

it is a symbol of worship of intellect.

When the Buddha start to wander around </HEADUP><HEADUP>India</HEADUP><HEADUP> shortly after his enlightenment,
he encountered several men who recognized him to be a very extraordinary being.
 </HEADUP>
They asked him, "Are you a god?"
"No," he replied.
"Are you a reincarnation of god?"
"No," he replied.
"Are you a wizard, then?"
"No."
"Well, are you a man?"
"No."
"So what are you?" they asked, being very perplexed.
"I am awake."
Buddha means "The Awakened One". How to awaken is all he taught.

<clipSource>http://www.purifymind.com/IamAwake.htm</clipSource>
