MRA groups downplay national abuse rates, just as abusers downplay their personal battery; they wage campaigns dismissing most allegations as false, as abusers claim partners are lying about being hit; and they depict the violence as mutual—part of an epidemic of wife-on-husband abuse—as individual batterers rationalize their behavior by saying that the violence was reciprocal. There are near-death experiences, and that is thousands of people who have been very close to death, they have been declared clinically dead or in some cases no brain function, and they report all over the world a surprisingly uniform experience.

The tree house restaurant located near Warkworth north of Auckland was designed by Peter Eising of Pacific Environment Architects. The project was completed in 66 days, using only the Yellow Pages as a resource. It opened in Jan 2009 but has limited opening times from January to February.

For those of you that have a fear of diving there is an alternate way of experiencing the sea life, vibrant coral and the crystal blue waters of the Indian Ocean. Why not kill two birds with one stone and take in the breath taking panoramic under water views whilst enjoying the delightful Maldivian cuisine?

Jean-Marc Speziale, who owns a small restaurant in Aniane near Montpellier, was so fed up with the bad press that wines from the Languedoc-Roussillon were getting that he decided to hit back. So he started making his own batch of wine, and labelled them Vin de Merde, or Wine of Shite as they say in Ireland.

Passenger accidentally activated ejector seat

A passenger in an air force display team shot himself 100 metres into the sky when he accidentally activated the ejector seat.

The man was reaching for something to steady himself during a mid-air manoeuvre when he pulled on the black and yellow emergency handle between his legs.

As soon as it was activated, the ejection sequence activated two rockets attached to the back of his chair, shooting him through the jet's perspex canopy.

The man, who has not been named, later floated back down to Earth on a parachute which opened automatically.

South African Air Force bosses scrambled a helicopter to pick up the passenger after the blunder near Langebaanweg airfield, 80 miles north of Cape Town.

The incident happened shortly after he took off for a joyride in the Pilatus PC-7 Mk II jet with an experienced pilot from South Africa's Silver Falcons air display team.

Experts said the man was lucky to escape unharmed following the bizarre incident.

Here is video from Glenn Beck's show today where he focused on the bizarre plans by President Obama to sign onto the Climate Change Treaty in Copenhagen at a world conference to be held December 7-18. Beck had former U.S. Ambassador John Bolton and Britain's Lord Monckton, a Climate Change expert, and a former adviser to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

Monckton warns that signing the treaty will begin the process of giving up U.S. Sovereignty to a world body that will have the power to impact U.S. financial markets and the greater U.S. Economy. He said it currently contains the power for the body to levy a 2% tax on nations and to impose penalties for C02 emissions.

5. Wollemia nobilis: This bizarre-looking tree was known only from 120 million-year-old fossil leaves before 1994; fewer than one hundred exist in the wild. They have strange bark that looks like bubbles of chocolate, multiple trunks, and ferny-looking leaves growing in spirals. They can grow up to 125 feet tall.

6. Welwitschia mirabilis consists of only two leaves and a stem with roots. Its two leaves continue to grow until they resemble an alien life form. The stem gets thicker rather than higher, although this plant can grow to be almost six feet high and twenty-four feet wide. Its estimated lifespan is 400 to 1500 years. Mirabilis grows in Namibia, and is thought to be a relic of the Jurassic period.

7. Drakaea glyptodon: an orchid. It is the color of, and smells like, raw meat. Pollinated by male wasps.

8. Wolffia angusta: the world's smallest flower. A dozen plants would easily fit on the head of a pin and two plants in full bloom will fit inside a small printed letter "o."
