I love the Bat-Bridge for billiards, The Bat-Ducky, the Bat-Maxi-Pad, Bat-Crayolas, and my personal favorite, the Bat-Fridge! Now, of course #6 makes it a NSFW and Mature rating and it was in rather different taste but it did fit the theme, so I will give it honorable mention.
Some I thought of, Bat-Water Cooler, Bat-Roller Blades, Bat-Jacuzzi (watch out for the afterburner!), Bat-Hangers, and, better than number 20, Bat- Riding Mower!

HARTFORD — It was here in the third-floor billiard room where America’s greatest humorist used to hole up when the bustle of his house, and the nursery one flight below, became too great, leaving strict orders not to be disturbed.

Seated at a desk tucked behind the billiards table, he wrote and rewrote in longhand such masterpieces as “Huckleberry Finn,” often beseeching his editors to stop cleaning up his language and restore the earthier vernacular he preferred.

But now the fanciful, three-story confection that was built by Mark Twain in 1874 at the height of his success may be forced to close because it is running out of money.

In a reversal of fortune that seems ripped from the pages of Twain’s classic “The Prince and the Pauper,” the nonprofit organization that has long run the 14,000-square-foot house as a museum told its trustees last month that it was “facing significant challenges” that could force it to shut down.

What exactly do men do in their tricked-out electronic hideaways? You know, when they’re “working.”

Particles and Waves

We are all familiar with the motion of particles from our every-day experience with solid objects. Like balls on a billiards table, when two particles run into each other, they bounce apart. In contrast, when two waves meet, they pass right through each other!

As the animation shows, when two waves overlap they add up to form a larger wave

They can also cancel out to form nothing at all (cancellation), or partially cancel to make a more complex waveform. This is called interference.

When moving particles hit a gap in a barrier they will generally trickle out in a thin stream, but waves will spread out in every direction to form a circle. This is called dispersion.

If there are two gaps in the barrier, the two waves will interfere to create an interference pattern.

For all these reasons, at the beginning of the 20th century everybody thought particles and waves were totally separate phenomena. But that view had to change.

John Edwards -- and I've thought that for a while -- is better articulating the anti-Clinton message than Barack Obama is. But because of the financial, the organizational advantage that Obama and Clint have, it may wind up accruing to Obama's benefit anyway. Edwards is taking all these shots at her, scoring all these punches, but in the end it weakens her so Obama can beat her, not Edwards. It's an interesting sort of three-way dynamic

Did family find face of Virgin Mary in lemon?

WATAUGA -- A bar owner was shocked Tuesday morning when his son saw the face of the Virgin Mary in a sliced fruit.

Sam Nance said his son Marty exposed the Virgin Mary's face on a lemon he was cutting at the family's business, Texas Billiards.

"It kind of freaked me out," said Nance, a member of the Watauga police. "I'm a detective, and I believe in facts."

When he looked at the lemon, he saw the face a little, but he said it wasn't until he snapped a picture that the face really showed up.

Nance is Methodist and his wife is Baptist. They don't attend church every Sunday, but they are saving the lemon in their freezer so others can see it.

"Some people sell that stuff on eBay," he said. "It's a lemon slice, for God's sake."

This Ohio-plated Volkswagen Bus billiards table was trailed to Woodward where it simultaneously bemused and amused all who strolled by. We spoke with the owner, and he told us that although he doesn’t know who built it or when, he was able to snooker this T1 away from its previous owner for around $8000, and it now resides in his shop.

The maroon felt Type 2 is fully functional and it appeared to have been built to a high standard. It didn’t look to have a full-fledged ball return mechanism, but it’s certainly playable, and it even has an integrated storage area for balls and other supplies beneath its engine flap.

Throwing stone balls along a lane might have been a popular game in ancient Egypt, according to evidence unearthed by Italian archaeologists

The game was a mixture of bowling, billiards and lawn bowls and was played at Narmoutheos, in the Fayoum region, some 90 kilometres south of Cairo

It was played in a spacious room that

was part of a structure, perhaps a residential building, which dated from the Roman period, specifically between the 2nd and 3rd century AD

"We first discovered a room with a very well-built limestone floor. Then we noticed a lane and two stone balls," says Professor Edda Bresciani, an Egyptologist at the University of Pisa.

They also noticed that the balls had different diameters

Each player took it in turns to throw the smaller ball, which determined the winner of the game.

Bresciani and her colleagues have tested the game by building a similar lane.

Bresciani says the game has no parallel in other civilisations.

A mixture of bowling, billiard and bowls, the game was played at Narmoutheos, in the Fayoum region, in a spacious room which appears to be the prototype of a modern-day bowling hall.

The room was part of a structure, perhaps a residential building, which dated from the Roman period, specifically between the second and third century A.D.

"We first discovered a room with a very well-built limestone floor. Then we noticed a lane and two stone balls," Edda Bresciani, an Egyptologist at Pisa University, told Discovery News.

Measuring about 13 feet long, the 7.9-inch-wide, 3.8-inch-deep lane featured a 4.7-inch square opening at its center.
