Javier Solana has taken center stage in the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.

The United States won’t be able to continue leading the talks until the new administration gets its footing. Until then, the only person capable of filling the void is EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana, according to an article published in the International Herald Tribune, Aug. 26, titled “Europe Into the Breach.” Read it here.

Why is Solana’s entrance into the talks important for Bible prophecy? If you’ve been following FP, then you know of his sudden appearance among a 10-nation military alliance in 1999. You also know that, back in 1995, Solana negotiated the Euro-Mediterranean free-trade zone (the covenant with many?) and later brokered the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP). The purpose of his ENP is to make firm, or confirm, his 1995 Euro-Med. And, beginning on Jan. 1, 2007, his new ENP went into force for a seven-year time frame.

Oct. 10 (Bloomberg) -- Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said political leaders are discussing the idea of closing the world's financial markets while they ``rewrite the rules of international finance.''

``The idea of suspending the markets for the time it takes to rewrite the rules is being discussed,'' Berlusconi said today after a Cabinet meeting in Naples, Italy. A solution to the financial crisis ``can't just be for one country, or even just for Europe, but global.''

The Bretton Woods Agreements were adopted to rebuild the international economic system after World War II in a hotel in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire. The aim of the agreements was to establish a monetary management system, initially by pegging currencies to gold. The IMF was set up later to help manage the international financial system.

Berlusconi didn't give any details about what kind of rules leaders were looking to change, except to say that leaders are ``talking about a new Bretton Woods.''

We don't charge for the light show at TBC. Want to know why? It communicates that we don't want the money of our guests. It communicates that it's a free gift to the community. It communicates that we want anyone to come to the event, even if you can't afford a car or car radio (we'll play it via boombox for you).

There's a family attending TBC since the light show. They decided to attend because it blew them away that we didn't charge a penny or even take donations. Did the event cost TBC something? You bet you — on all fronts (money, time, volunteers, risk). Was it worth not charging? Judge by the width of God's smile. OK, you really can't — but I wonder which communicates a more positive feeling in the end about who Jesus is and what He came for. That's a message EVERYONE s

Dallas service to bear witness to Osteen allure

Most preachers throw open the church doors and hope for a decent-size crowd. Joel Osteen, in his traveling worship services, charges admission and still draws a throng.

The majority of the nearly 15,000 expected for Mr. Osteen's Sunday night event at American Airlines Center will have paid $15 for a reserved seat.

Others will have spent three or four times that for choice seats through online ticket brokers.

Mr. Osteen said he thought about using a free-ticket system, but after talking with arena managers and others, concluded that a modest charge for reserved seats would lead to more orderly events.

Still, Mr. Osteen acknowledges that ticket sales are important to recouping the roughly $250,000 it costs him to put on an event, including renting an arena. He also takes an offering and sells his books and tapes, and he generally breaks even, he said.

Comments: We are asked to believe that Senator Barack Obama, who for 20 years has professed to be a practicing Christian and has spoken publicly of his "personal relationship with Jesus Christ," is in fact secretly a Muslim and has lied all along about his true religious affiliation.

No proof is offered by those who make these claims -- no sightings of Barack Obama attending a mosque, no pictures of him reading the Koran, praying to Mecca, or observing Islamic holidays with his family. The entire case, such as it is, rests on a confused and error-ridden recitation of Obama's upbringing and purported childhood influences. It also rests on -- or exploits -- a deep fear and mistrust of the Muslim faith.

Is it true that when Obama was sworn into office he used the Koran (Qur'an) instead of the Bible?

Those making this allegation have apparently confused Obama with Congressman Keith Ellison, who actually is a Muslim and was sworn in on January 4, 2007 using a copy of the Koran.

1. Make up fake acronyms. Online veterans like to use abbreviations like IMHO (in my humble opinion) or RTFM (read the fucking manual) to show that they're "hep" to the lingo. Make up your own that don't stand for anything (SETO, BARL, CP30), use them liberally, and then refuse to explain what they stand for ("You don't know that? RTFM").

2. WRITE YOUR MESSAGES IN ALL CAPS AND DON'T USE RETURNS SO THAT EVERYONE HAS TO SCROLL ACROSS THEIR SCREENS TO READ EVERY LINE. ALSO USE A LOT OF !!!!! TO SHOW THAT YOU'RE EXCITED ABOUT BEING HERE!

3. When replying to your mail, correct everyone's grammar and spelling and point out their typos, but don't otherwise respond to the content of their messages. when they respond testily to your "creative criticism," do it again. Continue until they go away.

Buy a compression program and compress everything you send, including one-word e-mail responses like "Thanks."

Marketing Bibles to a Post-Literate Generation

It irritates me how no one seems to read anymore. Steve, a fellow blogger, commented yesterday: “I wish more people under 40 would think. . . .” Amen! But discovering and learning new information and ideas is foundational to meaningful thought. The problem is, people don’t read anymore! I have friends who brag about how they got college degrees and rarely touched their text books. How is that possible?!?
