Once again, the words most spoken in these cases were said...."My Mother would NEVER leave me!" This young girl told us that even in the past when her mother would leave the home, the first thing she ALWAYS did was gather up the children.

So many daughters, and sons, remember the harsh words spoken in the past and wish more than anything that they would have a second chance to take them all back and let their mothers know how much they really love them. They would be willing to live up to every bargain they made with God just to have that second chance.

So, why haven’t the media picked up on it?

Here’s the deal. Researchers at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada found a cheap and easy to produce drug that kills almost all cancers. The drug is dichloroacetate, and since it is already used to treat metabolic disorders, we know it should be no problem to use it for other purposes.

Doesn’t this sound like the kind of news you see on the front page of every paper?

The drug also has no patent, which means it could be produced for bargain basement prices in comparison to what drug companies research and develop.

Scientists tested DCA on human cells cultured outside the body where it killed lung, breast and brain cancer cells, but left healthy cells alone. Rats plump with tumors shrank when they were fed water supplemented with DCA.

There is something quite strange for someone bored by details of the privacy of others, to see the media, starting with those "serious", enjoyed with things, which are nothing else than gossip. What is surprising is the implacable march of something incredibly reactionary and normalizer.

It's not only that we know that this one (John Edwards) has cheated on his wife with this one, nor even that we know when and how... It's not only that we know that the daughter of this other one (Sarah Palin) is pregnant before to be married or that her husband was arrested more than 20 years ago for driving under the influence of alcohol... It's not only that there are people to peel biographies, investigate, reveal or create "scandals", and others to buy them, "friends" to be paid for their secrets and bargain their betrayal... in short, a whole system implying

The plunging U.S. dollar has already forced many Americans to give up vacations in Europe. Now, the dollar has lost nearly 10% against the Mexican peso since January — meaning that beach trips to sunny spots south of the border are becoming out of reach, too.

The dollar's value had been stable for years in Mexico, even as it fell against other currencies such as the euro. The shift could have a significant effect on tourism and the $347 billion in trade between Mexico and the United States.

Mexico City is nearly as expensive for foreigners as Washington, according to a study released in July by Mercer, a U.S. consulting firm that studies the cost of living in cities around the world. Mexico's inflation rate of 5% is also about a percentage point higher than in the USA.

The Asus EeePC was the first, revolutionary solid-state, bargain basement laptop. This latest version is the most refined yet. Our review unit ran Windows XP and comes with Microsoft Works and StarOffice preinstalled. However, the version running Linux offers faster start-up speeds and speedier performance - the Intel Atom processor and 1GB of Ram frankly struggles with XP, although the 20GB of memory is generous. Sadly, then, while the Asus was the original, it is no longer the best. The 8.9in screen is slightly crisper than the Acer’s, but the 2lb 7oz unit is heavier and the keyboard feels slightly more cramped. Also, connectivity isn’t quite as good. Battery life is superb, though: the EeePC lasted for more than four hours of gruelling testing. Still, given the higher price and slower start-up speed, we’d recommend the Acer instead.
VERDICT: An inexpensive and very portable Windows laptop, but the Aspire One is the more usable machine. uk.asus.com

Usually, retail gasoline prices do go up faster than they fall. Martha White, in Slate's Explainer column, explains:

Analyses of gasoline economics show that when the price of oil rises, it takes up to four weeks for gas station prices to catch up, with most of the increase taking place within the first two weeks. But when oil prices sink, it takes up to eight weeks for the savings to be passed along to consumers. The phenomenon is known as "asymmetric price adjustment" (PDF) or, more informally, "rockets and feathers."

... The stations can't raise prices too much, though, because consumers tend to be extra-vigilant about shopping for bargains when oil prices are on the rise. ... The asymmetry that economists cite comes into play as soon as oil prices start to deflate.
