He climbed atop a folding chair to give 30 campaign volunteers who were about to go canvassing door to door their talking points -- for instance, the connection between Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden: "Both have friends that bombed the Pentagon," he said. "That is scary." It is also not exactly true -- though that distorted reference to Obama's controversial association with William Ayers, a former 60s radical, was enough to get the volunteers stoked. "And he won't salute the flag," one woman added, repeating another myth about Obama. She was quickly topped by a man who called out, "We don't even know where Senator Obama was really born." According to Time, McCain campaign staffers in Virginia are teaching volunteers to see Barack Obama as having terrorist 'friends,' and then providing these volunteers with arguments for persuading voters that Sen. Obama, like Osama Bin Laden, shares responsibility for bombings of the Pentagon.

The report from inside the McCain campaign brings to light an alarming fact: while McCain tells his supporters publicly to refrain from violent rhetoric, he continues to teach his volunteers rhetoric designed to elicit violent responses.

The report confirms that the McCain campaign has staked its chances of winning the Presidency on convincing the public that Barack Obama is on the wrong side of the 'War on Terror' and, therefore, his victory in the Presidential election would put the power of the White House in the hands of terrorists.

Obama is defined by his indefinability. When I pointed out to my Vermont gals that he lives in a swank pad that was part of some shady real estate deal with a convicted fraudster (Tony Rezko), that he entrusted his daughters’ entire religious education to a neo-segregationist anti-American nut who preaches that the government created the AIDS virus to kill black people (Jeremiah Wright), that he attended fundraisers with a political patron who’s an unrepentant terrorist proud of plotting to blow up young ladies just like them at a dance at the Fort Dix military base (William Ayers), when I pointed all this out, they looked at me as if I’d brought a baseball bat to a croquet match. Mere earthbound politicians are defined by their real estate deals and sleazy buddies, but Obama is defined only by his vibe. As his many admirers in France would say, he has a certain je ne sais quoi. And, if you try to pin down quoi precisely, then they don’t want to sais.

Now and then, Fox News makes a stab at living up to its "fair and balanced" tag line.

At other times, the cable network's operatives throw off all pretense, let their neatly trimmed hair down and do what they seem to love best -- blame all of the world's evils on those pointy-headed, America-hating liberals. Like, say, Barack Obama!

Fox host Sean Hannity and his producers served up a heaping portion of just such red meat Sunday night on "Hannity's America." And they've since been making lame defenses of the faux documentary, which bore the subtle title: "Obama and Friends: The History of Radicalism."

William Charles "Bill" Ayers (born 26 December 1944)^[1] is an American elementary education theorist and former leading 1960s anti-war activist. He is known for the radical nature of his activism in the 1960s and 1970s as well as his current work in education reform, curriculum, and instruction. In 1969 he cofounded the radical left organization the Weather Underground, which conducted a campaign of bombing public buildings during the 1960s and 1970s. He is now a professor in the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, holding the title of Distinguished Professor.

The following article is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT because it provides an explanation for the above, as well as why Obama has been deceptive about his 10+ years' association with unrepentant American terrorist William Ayers. Please take a couple of minutes to read the article.

Lastly, the reason I find credible the point made by the author, Jack Cashill, that Obama did not write his two celebrated memoirs (which were most probably ghostwritten by Ayers), is because I am a published writer. I
know how hard writing is. I also know that writing is a craft that must be
honed: one does not SUDDENLY overnight become a good writer, especially if
one has never written before.

Have you wondered, as I have, why Obama left no paper trail?
1. He has refused to make public his Senior Thesis at Columbia U., not even the title.
2. He has refused to make public his records (grades) at Occidental College, Columbia U., & Harvard Law School.
3. Despite being president (elected) of the Harvard Law Review, he did not write anything beyond a brief legal note (see article below).

4. Despite teaching as a Lecturer at Chicago U.'s law school for years, Obama NEVER wrote or published any law article. That, for anyone familiar with academia, is very very unusual. But it did not stop Chicago from OFFERING OBAMA A TENURED APPOINTMENT.

Now we know why Barack Obama refuses (and will continue to sandbag) to make public his senior thesis & his undergraduate & law school grades & records. Because doing so will make clear that he did not write those two memoirs. Note that many will vote for Obama because they admire him for his writing & "intellect." (Cashill's article within Link).

Obama is clearly lying when he claims ignorance about Ayers's terrorism, but even if you wanted to pretend otherwise, it is impossible that he was in the dark about Ayers's revolutionary leftism: Ayers has never made a secret of it and can't seem to help himself from mentioning it about every 30 seconds. Obama not only knew about Ayers's views in this regard; he obviously subscribed to them: was a member of the Chicago New Party begun by the Democratic Socialists of America; he worked closely with Ayers on "education reform" for years, he approved of Ayers's similarly fringe-Left views of the criminal justice system's treatment of juvenile crime, and, we are learning; and he was tightly aligned with ACORN, which he and Ayers funded and whose practices fit comfortably with the Ayers view of "participatory democracy").

But why should that give him a one-upmanship over Obama... as far as fair reporting is concerned? Maybe corporate media has more to gain under republican rule or maybe it's just that they fear a McCain attack because they've taken note of how McMean and his Cold-Hearted-VP pick's, mean-spirited, hateful innuendoes launched against Obama have stirred the "Republican base of loathing", to get "physical" with any contrived foe. I believe it's both but they've got the case of the willies when it comes to the ornery right-wing mentality, knowing they might band together and threaten not to buy the goods their sponsors hawk!

McCain Shouts "Terrorist!" in a Crowded Theater

McCain today released a shockingly inflammatory Obama-is-a-pal-of-terrorist-Bill-Ayers ad. Here's the link via Andrew Sullivan.

Sullivan, who has been a mensch on McCain-Palin, calls the ad "dishonorable."

His Atlantic colleague Ross Douhat calls it "Gloves, Off."

In both their cases, the hell it is.

McCain has crossed over into territory where the dark stuff of politics seethes and boils.He is shouting "terrorist" in a crowded theater, and juicing things up with creepy racist touches (notice one of the images of Obama in the ad uses the main one from the Obama-Is-A-Pedophile ad).

Forget the ad's disgraceful content and distortions of fact (see Gail Collins op-ed in the Times today for a deft spiking of these).

I keep recalling: the poisonous climate revved up by right wing fundamentalists in Israel prior to Rabin's murder.

I keep recalling: the radio campaign by Hutu extremists against Tutsi "cockroaches" prior to the Rwanda horrors.
