A ex-mulher do Rolling Stone Mick Jagger, Bianca, perdeu um anel avaliado em US$ 300 mil após ir a um festival de música na cidade de Salzburgo, na Áustria.

Segundo a imprensa local, Bianca Jagger, que é embaixadora da boa-vontade do Conselho da Europa, disse que ela notou a ausência do acessório quando estava em um táxi, após deixar seu hotel na cidade austríaca.

O anel de platina e água marinha, que ela mesma desenhou, foi perdido na rua, de acordo com o jornal "Salzburger Nachrichten".

"A senhorita Jagger foi categórica ao dizer que ela perdeu o anel e que não se tratou de um furto", disse Karl-Heinz Wochermayr, da polícia de Salzburgo.

CANBERRA (Reuters) - Just one can of the popular stimulant energy drink Red Bull can increase the risk of heart attack or stroke, even in young people, Australian medical researchers said on Friday.

The caffeine-loaded beverage, popular with university students and adrenaline sport fans to give them "wings", caused the blood to become sticky, a pre-cursor to cardiovascular problems such as stroke.

"One hour after they drank Red Bull, (their blood systems) were no longer normal. They were abnormal like we would expect in a patient with cardiovascular disease," Scott Willoughby, lead researcher from the Cardiovascular Research Centre at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, told the Australian newspaper.

Red Bull Australia spokeswoman Linda Rychter said the report would be assessed by the company's head office in Austria.

If some foragers have found a bountiful new source, the receivers have more work to do, so average unloading times across all foragers increase. This delay might suggest the existence of a better nectar source than the one a given forager has been visiting. Similarly, receivers are sometimes already half-full from another bee's nectar when a new forager arrives, so a forager needs to unload to more than one receiver. If this occurs more frequently, it may also suggest that a richer nectar source has been found.
To test this hypothesis, Thenius's team built a computer simulation of a hive containing 5000 independent virtual bees. Each forager started out visiting one of two different flower patches, but would switch destinations if it had to wait too long to be unloaded or was being serviced by too many receivers.

GIVEN a choice between two different flower beds, how can honeybees hunting for nectar be sure they've chosen the best patch? A new computer model may provide the answer, as well as insights into the workings of a "hive mind" that could be used to guide swarms of robots.

Within a bee colony, two different types of bee handle nectar: foragers go out to collect it from flowers, and receivers unload it from the foragers and store it in honeycomb. The forager then leaves the hive to hunt for more.

Different foragers from a single hive visit more than one separate source of nectar - so how can an individual forager be sure it's going to the best one? While bees can communicate with each other using complicated waggle dances, "these only show where a source is - not how good it is", says Ronald Thenius of the University of Graz in Austria.

Doctors from overseas are getting a crash course on how to speak 'proper Yorkshire' because they were finding it so difficult to understand locals.

Despite having near perfect English, many foreign doctors were being left baffled by Yorkshire slang - so Doncaster Primary Care Trust now provides help through a special dictionary of words and phrases.

The colloquial translations were produced by Dr Lis Rodgers who is in charge of foreign recruitment for the Trust, reports Sky News.

"This is about trying to improve patient care and helping doctors to understand their patients," she said.

"This started when a colleague from Austria was told by a female patient she was about to examine, 'I've got my friend with me', which meant she had her period.

"I then asked staff working at the Trust to write down all of the colloquialisms they knew and give them to me. Believe me, the list has been edited a great deal."
