More than 1,000,000 members of the military
spent Veterans Day at their neighborhood Applebee's Grill & Bar yesterday,
enjoying friends, family -- and a free entrée. Applebee's saluted veterans
and active duty military for their service and sacrifice by honoring them
with free food in all of the nearly 1,900 restaurants across the nation.

"Applebee's is honored to have played a role in this national day of
respect and remembrance," said Mike Archer, president, Applebee's Services,
Inc. "We are proud to lead the way in saluting veterans on their day of
honor."

The Army’s Criminal Investigation Division is responsible for recommending charges, prompting the military equivalent of a grand jury, known as an Article 32 hearing, where both prosecutors and defense can present evidence.

Those results would be reviewed by the base commander, who would decide whether to convene a court-martial. The 12-person jury would be composed of officers higher in rank than Hasan " lieutenant colonels and above.

Lead Writer Ashby Jones
The Wall Street Journal's Law Blog

Before becoming a journalist, he worked as a litigator at a large law firm and clerked for a federal judge.

Clip Source: blogs.wsj.com

The future indeed looks grim for Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the accused Fort Hood gunman, who last week opened fire in a processing center on the base, killing 13. Hasan was injured by gunfire, but remains alive and under heavy guard at Fort Sam Houston. That means, of course, Hasan will presumably be prosecuted for his actions.

But what will the legal proceedings look like for Hasan? The Houston Chronicle attempts to answer the question in a story out Monday.

A key question concerning Hasan’s fate hinges on whether civilian prosecutors conclude he was part of a terrorist plot that might justify moving his case into the federal criminal courts under U.S. anti-terrorism laws. If prosecutors, on the other hand, determine that Hasan acted alone, he could face the death penalty in a military court-martial.

Tags: lone killer or part of terrorist plot, mass murderer, media political correctness, military tribunal or criminal court?, nidal hasan

<clipSource>http://blogs.wsj.com/law/2009/11/09/whats-likely-to-happen-to-maj-nidal-malik-hasan/</clipSource>

Major Hasan - the secret weapon!

clipped by: mountainpalm
clipper's remarks: "He indicated that he would give me a call back and let me know. If we don’t stand behind our professional soldiers, and give them the tools to do their jobs now, we will all become soldiers before this enemy is defeated.

Somewhere in the world tomorrow, an American soldier will ring in the eleventh hour of the eleventh day with gunfire. Another will arrive home after an honorable tour of duty, perhaps passing brothers and sisters in arms saying farewell to their families. A mother’s tears will fall on a letter from the far side of the world. Old veterans will spend a beautiful afternoon watching children play beneath the flag they raised at Anzio, Guadalcanal, Incheon, or Khe Sanh.

Clip Source: michellemalkin.com

Applebee’s honors vets and active duty military with a free meal today. Krispy Kreme is doing the same. Calling the injured and dead of Fort Hood “victims” perpetuates the blindness that compelled those men and women to face the enemy unarmed.

Tags: airforce, army, coast guard, marines, national guard, national security, navy, veterans day 2009

<clipSource>http://michellemalkin.com/2009/11/11/veterans-day-2009-thank-you/</clipSource>

Obama Ally Code Pink Targets Children of Military Families for Psychological Abuse

clipped by: Jacob173

Clip Source: biggovernment.com

Obama Ally Code Pink Targets Children of Military Families for Psychological Abuse

This is not the first time Code Pink has waged psychological warfare on our troops and military families. Gina Maniscalco at Lookingood.com was the first to alert me to it, and she raises valid concerns - there are enough hormones generated by these two videos (after watching the first, go to the site promoted at the end of it) to power a small army over a cliff!

Clip Source: lookingood.com

Land sakes, Gillette is at it again! They want our men to shave every inch of their bodies, and they are not giving up until we have a nation of hairless hammerheads!

First came the manscaping campaign telling our boys they should shave their privates because “The tree looks taller when there is no underbrush.” Evidently that metaphor didn’t work, because now, Gillette’s launching a new campaign called The BodycruZade, recruiting women to demand that men “make life smoother” for them.

“Entourage” actress, Emmanuelle Chriqui, is the campaign manager, and encourages women to join the campaign by sending a clever, customized video to that special someone, giving them a fake award for “The perfectly groomed man.”

My-oh-my, just look at that video, it must be downright torture for men not to run right out and shave themselves like sheep! Why, the BodycruZade campaign office looks like a Playboy bunny audition room!

Tags: lookingood, manscaping, marketing, viral

<clipSource>http://lookingood.com/2009/11/the-perfectly-groomed-man/</clipSource>

Heartbreaking: Fort Hood soldiers remembered, in pictures (21 images)

clipped by: clip-on-tie

Clip Source: www.sacbee.com

FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) -- Sketching out lives that ended too soon, President Barack Obama remembered those slain at Fort Hood as husbands and fathers, immigrants and scholars, optimists and patriots -- an expectant mother, a granddaughter of veterans, a music teacher. Just below his speaking platform Tuesday, before thousands of mourners, the dead were remembered in a traditional Army way: 13 pairs of combat boots, each with an inverted rifle topped with a helmet. A picture of each person rested below the boots. "Neither this country, nor the values that we were founded upon, could exist without men and women like these 13 Americans," Obama told the throng. "And that is why we must pay tribute to their stories." (21 images)

Clip Source: www.copytaste.com
