The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.

Fashion chain withdraws swastika handbag

MADRID (Reuters) - Spanish fashion chain Zara has withdrawn a handbag from its stores after a customer in Britain complained swastikas were embroidered on it.

The bags were made by a supplier in India and inspired by commonly used Hindu symbols, which include the swastika. The original design approved by Zara did not have swastikas on it, Inditex said.

Zara pulled the bags after 19-year-old Rachel Hatton told Britain's Daily Mail she asked for a refund when she spotted swastikas on her bag.

A British anti-fascism group said the bags were an attempt to legitimize fascism and the Daily Star tabloid newspaper ran a picture of Adolf Hitler next to its story headlined, "Fury over Nazi Fashion Bags."

The swastika is an ancient religious symbol for Hindus and Buddhists, and has represented the sun, strength and good luck to many groups around the world.

What is ERA?

ERA is a space in which individual stories of people having resisted against the terror, humiliation and despair fascism brought over Europe are kept alive and visible for everybody.

The protagonists and eyewitnesses will disappear in the next years. Soon, there will be no other testimonies of the happenings apart from those having been collected, recorded, recounted and written down. The value of eyewitness interviews is unique. No book or film can replace the opportunity of watching eyewitnesses tell their stories of resistance and independent decision to do so.

The European Resistance Archive will enable the documentation of this precious knowledge. It offers video interviews with women and men having taken part in the antifascist resistance. In Europe, these testimonies are often only available to those personally visiting archives or documentary centres.

Protesters Demand LL Send Le Pen’s People to M-rated Sims

In a press release today, the SL Left Unity group blasted the Front National party in Second Life as a fascist/racist organization and set the scene for ongoing confrontations by buying land next to the FN office in the Matrix Mall - while staging protests outside the pro-Le Pen FN group’s headquarters in the metaverse.

According to the press release, not only are the words growing heated, the scene is becoming more violent as protesters complain of being shot by FN security - and this seemed to be what I was witnessing on my visit.

While at the Matrix Mall in Porcupine this afternoon, I saw crowds of pro and anti-FN avatars milling about with some avatar’s weapon shields engaging occasionally. I also noticed what seemed to be a pattern of anti-FN avatars suddenly flying into the air - evidently a low-intensity push weapon skirmish was being fought - at the same time political positions were being argued in french. Given the rhetoric of the groups involved, the conflict I witnessed was not surprising.
