When people don't brush and floss regularly, bacteria accumulate on the bits of food left in the mouth and between the teeth. The sulfur compounds released by these bacteria make the breath smell.

Clip Source: www.grannymed.com

Home Remedies For Bad Breath

How to Cure Bad Breath with Natural Treatments

Chew peppermint or carnation for better breath smell.

Swallow one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar before each meal.

To lose the bad breath eat pumpkin daily

Brush your teeth with baking soda.

Herbal remedy for halitosis: Blanch parsley and drink several times a day to help bad breath.

Drink chamomile tea

Home remedy for bad breath: blanch Thyme-Leaved Savory and gurgle.

Gurgle salty water.

Acne

This new study highlights the importance of certain soluble proteins, called cytokines, in Alzheimer’s disease. The study focuses on one of these cytokines, tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF), a critical component of the brain’s immune system. Normally, TNF finely regulates the transmission of neural impulses in the brain. The authors hypothesized that elevated levels of TNF in Alzheimer’s disease interfere with this regulation. To reduce elevated TNF, the authors gave patients an injection of an anti-TNF therapeutic called etanercept. Excess TNF-alpha has been documented in the cerebrospinal fluid of patients with Alzheimer’s.

The amygdala is a part of the brain thought to be important for forming memories of emotionally charged events.

"We found that after beta-catenin is taken out, the mice can still learn to fear the shocks," Maguschak said. "But two days later, their fear doesn't seem to be retained because they spend half as much time freezing in response to the tone."

So it appears that beta-catenin is turned on in the amygdala to help in signaling during the learning process, Maguschak said.

Clip Source: www.livescience.com

Scientists may have found the glue that keeps fearful memories stuck in the brain, a discovery that could be useful in new treatments for Alzheimer's disease and post-traumatic stress disorder.

"What we can say now is that providers should help patients understand that the benefits of these drugs are long term and may not be apparent in the first months of treatment. Even if a patient's symptoms get worse, that doesn't mean the drug isn't working, since the decline probably would have been much greater without therapy."

The results raise the intriguing possibility that the drugs may be protecting the patients' brains from further deterioration, the authors said.

Tags: alzheimers. alzheimer's

<clipSource>http://alzheimersreadingroom.blogspot.com/2008/09/combining-alzheimers-drugs-helps-slow.html</clipSource>

Anti-Aging: Four Super-Foods you should be eating

clipped by: bbittner

Clip Source: www.henrycruz.com

'Ansels pitch is to -- 'Ditch red meat, full-fat dairy, soft drinks, cookies, cakes, white flour and fried and packaged foods,'

'She advices to add these to your daily diet instead:

Spinach: It's loaded with Vitamin K, which can improve bone density and lower the risk of hip fracture. You might think "I'll end greed" would be the most mortifying thing John McCain could say at one sitting. You'd be wrong. At Wednesday's town hall -- his first with Sarah Palin -- he topped himself with this explanation of her credentials:

"She has been commander in chief of the Alaska National Guard. Fact. On September 11 a contingent of the Guard deployed to Iraq and her son happened to be one of them so I think she understands national security challenges."

Which is fine except:

The governor of Alaska doesn't command the National Guard in combat overseas.

Sarah Palin didn't deploy anyone anywhere on September 11th. She was a guest speaker at an Army deployment ceremony.

Track Palin isn't in the National Guard; he's in the Army.

Sometimes it seems like it's more than John McCain can handle, just keeping all the lies about Sarah Palin straight in his head. Tomorrow he'll say she's in the Air Force herself, on a plane she bought on eBay, bombing the bridges at Toko-Ri.

<clipSource>http://www.huffingtonpost.com/chris-kelly/the-delicate-subject-of-j_b_127359.html</clipSource>

The Logical Outcome of Socialized Medicine

clipped by: ColoradoRight
clipper's remarks: You cost to much you old fogie.
