For we are Labour's avante-garde, and we were educated.
By tax adjustments we have planned to institute the Promised Land
And just to show we're still sincere, we sing The Red Flag once a year

It's one step forward, one step back. Our dance is devilish daring
A leftward shuffle, a rightward tack, then pause to take our bearings.
We'll reform the country bit by bit, so nobody will notice it
Then ever after, never fear, we'll sing The Red Flag once a year

So vote for us, and not for them, we're just as true to NATO,
And we'll be calm and British when we steer the ship of state-O

Clip Source: www.chicagodsa.org

And if we abandon public education, that is
what will happen. Public schooling is the one institution left
to us all that we own together and whose future will create our

Winding this down will, indeed, impose painful costs. Congress is seeking to explicitly transfer these costs to taxpayers, who will underwrite a new government plan devised to correct the old government plans. Taxpayers are being called upon to make a significant sacrifice, with little evidence to suggest that the troubled markets will be settled. In fact, there is evidence to suggest that the latest intervention will delay the required adjustments in the financial services sector

<clipSource>http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=ZDFkMTc3NWMwOGQxN2Y3MjNkMjQ5ZTJkYmMyMjJlYWQ=&w=MQ==</clipSource>

Ways to save on energy cost.

clipped by: raynephillipe

Clip Source: budgetbrilliant.blogspot.com

Summertime is synonymous to fun, but one of the not so fun truths about summer is high utility bills. Cranking up the air conditioner and watering your lawn can add up to hundreds of dollars spent each summer. Some of those dollars can be saved with just a few quick adjustments around the house that may seem like obvious cost savers to some, but are often overlooked.

When you leave the house, turn off all of your small appliances. Let's hope everything goes well for the Gulf States.

Clip Source: www.cnn.com

President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney will not attend the GOP convention in St. Paul, Minnesota, because of Hurricane Gustav, White House press secretary Dana Perino said Sunday.

In addition, "substantial" changes to the Republican National Convention program will be announced Sunday because of the storm, two Republican officials said.

One option is delaying the planned Monday opening of the convention, both sources said, though one of the officials said "that has not been decided. We need a few more hours to look at all of the contingencies. But there will be some substantial adjustments."

A senior McCain source said Saturday that officials were considering turning the convention into a massive telethon to raise money for the Red Cross and other agencies to help with hurricane aid.

They are also hoping to get McCain himself to a storm-affected area as soon as possible.

Other changes were being contemplated Saturday afternoon.

Tags: news

<clipSource>http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/08/31/rnc.gustav/?iref=mpstoryview</clipSource>

Noseless seats a less pressing option

clipped by: pokkets
clipper's remarks: It should be a great alternative for recreational use, and some professions where bike riding is part of the job description, but it isn't really an option for sports racing, where time is more important than comfort. Some bike racers would prefer to have a groin injury, than lose a second. Another remedy suggested by Dr Barnes, apart from seat adjustment, is a good quality chamois in the shorts. - However you may want to be careful not to use it to dry the car.
Another thing. Police may know how to ride a bike, but what fraction have ever adjusted the seat?

Clip Source: www.abc.net.au

Claudine Ryan

A long day on the bike leaves most of us uncomfortable, but US scientists have good news for those men who find themselves with more than a numb backside

Research published in the latest issue of The Journal of Sexual Medicine reveals that bicycle seats without the protruding nose extension can help to ease discomfort some male bike riders experience

past researchers have found men riding their bikes for extended periods are more likely to experience erectile dysfunction, as well as genital numbness.

Researchers evaluated 90 bike police officers in five metropolitan areas in the United States. You have a sensible and realistic outlook on life and your
two feet are always planted firmly on the ground (though you may,
on occasion, have your head in the clouds). Others often see you
as a rock of strength, solid, reliable, dependable, and constant.
You are, in fact, amazingly consistent for you possess great
powers of endurance and do not like to make changes or
adjustments in your regular routine. You do things deliberately
and methodically and do not easily accommodate the unexpected.
Though you have a gentle, even soft, appearance, you are
enormously strong-willed and stubborn. You go at your own pace
and refuse to be rushed or pushed into anything before you feel
sure about it. You can be coaxed and persuaded by charm, beauty,
love, or affection - but never forced. You won't fight either,
but simply stubbornly resist any attempt to coerce you to do

something you do not want to do.

<clipSource>http://rep.astrology.com/free/16042/1437/1.html</clipSource>
