The country singing cutie is in the Big Apple tending to promotional duties, fresh off of a stop at the “Late Show with David Letterman” earlier in the day.

As previously reported by Gossip Center, Miss Underwood’s third album, “Play On,” debuts this week and is still very much country complete with banjo, pedal steel and mandolin, although the album is said to have different musical textures adding a level of maturity to it.
Of her newest project, Carrie tells press, “This has been kind of my first attempt at love songs and I think there’s a reason for that. I think it’s because I’m a private person anyway, and I’m not so great with emotions.

She threatens their claim to the moral high ground and their assertion that women voters belong to the Left. That’s reason enough to send them into fits of rage. And you can bet they’re only getting warmed up.

So predictable. Saw this coming a mile away. It's almost boring watching the left piss their pants again over a woman who happens to be a conservative. Maybe we can expect David Letterman to crack a rape joke about Liz and her family, on behalf of the "tolerant" left.

Let's have some fun and imagine the reaction of the media and womans groups had Letterman's activities been committed by Glenn Beck or Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh. Lawsuits and resignations would be in order.

Once again the woman's movement in this country has been exposed for the fraud it is. They have nothing to with the rights and victimization of woman. Only if the perpetrator is not of the liberal persuasion.

We saw this with the response of the woman's movement to Monica Lewinsky, Juanita Broderick, Paula Jones and Kathleen Wiley to their complaints regarding the actions of President Clinton.

A Connecticut college has warned students interning for late-night, skirt-chasing TV funnyman David Letterman to stay at arm's length from the host.

A rep from Quinnipiac University told the celebrity Web site TMZ that "due to recent circumstances we will have a discussion with those in charge of placing our interns at the David Letterman show in the future."

In the statement, the school added, "We will diligently oversee this internship program to ensure that our interns are out of harm's way."

But even if Dave did no harm to his girlfriends, he injured the rest of the staff by creating a sense that favoritism prevailed. To grant a subordinate access, opportunities and perhaps influence for nonprofessional reasons, particularly with a boss as aloof as Dave, can demoralize all who work for him. When, for example, Dave puts Stephanie Birkitt on camera, he gives her a professional opportunity other staff members crave. And, as a former colleague remarked to me, since CBS ultimately finances the show and hence paid for Birkitt’s appearances, in a way it subsidized Dave’s love life. The nicest gift I ever got from a network was a jacket with the show’s name on the back.
This is worse still for the strikingly small number of women who have written for the show.
Seeing other women benefit from sexual favoritism disheartens those rare women who wrote for the show and can discourage others from applying.

(Newser) – Stephanie Birkitt is getting the most attention, but she's not be the only staffer David Letterman seduced—not by a long shot, says accused extortionist Robert Halderman. Halderman puts the figure at “six or seven,” a friend tells the New York Daily News. “He would fly them out on a chartered plane to the Indy 500 and put them up in five-star hotels.”

With its primetime and late night lineups in free fall, NBC is reportedly putting pressure on talk show host Jay Leno to have a scandalous affair, a network source confirmed today.

"[NBC chairman] Jeff Zucker is adamant about this," one network source said. "He wants Jay to be up to his neck in sexual monkey business by sweeps."

"This isn't about morality," Mr. Zucker reportedly told the talk show host. "This is about staying competitive."

But creating a ratings-worthy scandal may be easier said then done, the source said.

And other things have not changed

In an ideal world, bosses would refrain from sleeping with subordinates, so as not to cause jealousy and tension in the office. But we’re not in an ideal world. Otherwise, we’d already have health care for everyone and Glenn Beck wouldn’t have any influence over the White House.

But we haven’t heard that the curmudgeonly comedian, who has never lost his streak of Midwest primness, forced any staffers to listen to tales of pubic hairs on Cokes or Long Dong Silver.

From what we know so far, and that may not be everything, the women who got involved with Letterman were not pressured.

After David Letterman acknowledged that he’d had flings with young assistants, some commentators talked about it in the same breath as Roman Polanski, who drugged and sodomized a 13-year-old. That’s outrageous.

Some of the politicians zinged by David Letterman over the years for their indiscretions are offering pity and advice for the scandalized talk show host.

Letterman, like many comedians, feasted on the disgrace of Foley, whose political career was ruined in 2006 by a scandal involving salacious e-mails he sent to underage teens.

"How about that Florida Congressman Mark Foley?" cracked Letterman at the time. "Whoa! At least the Democrats wait until the interns are 18."

In March 2008, Letterman was taking potshots at Eliot Spitzer, then governor of New York, who was embroiled in an investigation into a high-end prostitution operation.

"It's so sunny and bright outside that, earlier today, Eliot Spitzer came out of a brothel squinting," Letterman cracked in a monologue.

In another monologue, Letterman tweaked Sen. David Vitter,

Vitter "admitted he's been dating prostitutes," said Letterman. "And he was very generous with one girl: He paid her with a new highway project in her home state."
