Ode to Boobs

If every woman on Earth went topless for a day, they would rule the world. Women, you simply cannot fathom the power your boobs have over men. It doesn't matter the size, shape, or color -- THEY'RE BOOBS! To quote just about every guy on the planet, if men had boobs, we'd never leave the house.

I will never forget my first breast sighting: July 24, 1982.

As we were driving

my friend and I both saw a slim, tanned, topless woman in short-shorts standing near an RV. Must have been European. (The woman, not the RV.)

We were awe-struck. It wasn't just happening in slow motion... time actually stood still. Boobs. Real boobs. On a woman. Wow.

After what seemed like an eternity, we finally parked.

My friend and I were out of the car in a flash and headed back down the road.

Alas, it wasn't meant to be. By the time we got back to the scene, she, and her breasts, were gone.

One woman of a two-sister pair accused of practicing medicine without a license for a chain of Southern California abortion clinics catering to low-income Hispanics has been sentenced to three years formal probation, ordered to perform 500 hours of community service and to pay $3,270 in restitution to six victims.

“This defendant preyed on women in the Hispanic community,” said San Diego County District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis. “By passing herself off as a doctor, she put these women’s lives in serious danger.”

In one case, a bungled abortion allegedly performed by Bugarin required a woman to be hospitalized three times. Her unborn child was later delivered prematurely and survived for three hours, police said.

In a 1996 incident at the Panorama City Clinica Medica, Braemer left an unborn baby’s cranium inside a woman, requiring her to spend a month in the hospital in order to have her bowel repaired, according to Medical Board records.

clipper's remarks: In 2004, Polk took out a 30-year, 6.375 percent mortgage for $45,620 with a Countrywide Home Loan office in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. The same day, she also took out an $11,380 line of credit.

Over the next couple of years, Polk missed payments on the 101-year-old home that she and her late husband purchased in 1970. In 2007, Fannie Mae assumed the mortgage and later filed for foreclosure.

Deputies had tried to serve Polk's eviction notice more than 30 times before Wednesday's incident, Sommerville said. She never came to the door, but the notes the deputies left would always disappear, so they knew she was inside and ambulatory, he said. Sommerville said Akron is creating programs to help people keep their homes. "But what do you do when there's just so many people out there and the economy is in the shape that it's in?"

He added that many businesses and individuals have offered to help Polk.

Two days after a 90-year-old Ohio woman shot herself as deputies tried to evict her from her foreclosed home, Fannie Mae has decided to forgive the delinquent loan and give her the house outright, CNN reports.

"We're going to forgive whatever outstanding balance she had on the loan and give her the house," said Fannie Mae spokesman Brian. "Given the circumstances, we think it's appropriate."

Addie Polk of Akron is listed in critical condition at Akron General Medical Center. She shot herself at least twice in the upper body Wednesday afternoon as sheriff's deputies came to evict her from the house she has lived in since 1970. CNN has video of a neighbor describing what he saw.

"There's a lot of people like Miss Polk right now. That's the sad thing about it," said Akron City Council President Marco Sommerville. "They might not be as old as her; some could be as old as her. This is just a major problem."

Top woman police officer in Afghan south killed

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan: Unidentified gunmen shot dead the most senior woman police officer in southern Afghanistan on Sunday, an official said.

Lieutenant-Colonel Malalai was killed in her car in an area of Kandahar city where she resumed her job as an officer after U.S.-led forces in 2001 overthrew the Taliban government which had barred women from most outdoor work.

She had led many police house searches in Kandahar leading to seizure of arms and drugs in recent years.

"Unknown gunmen from a car killed her when she was heading to her office," provincial spokesman Zalmai Ayoubi said, adding the motive behind the incident was being investigated.

Her son was wounded in the attack, witnesses said.

Officials have yet to comment about the killing of the 45-year-old Malalai who had survived several assassination attempts.

BBC reports that you have recently called on women in Saudi Arabia to “wear a full veil, or niqab, that reveals only one eye.” You say that “showing both eyes encourage[s] women to use eye make-up to look seductive.”

I believe, sir, that showing only one eye will make matters worse. You see, whenever a woman and a man are together and the woman blinks, the man might think that she is winking. Is the hidden eye open or closed? If it is assumed to be normally open, then a momentary closing of the visible eye could be assumed to be a wink. If it is assumed to be normally closed, then the woman may be considered to be perpetually winking, which is equally problematic.

I have an alternative solution to your problem. I suggest that you introduce veils for men that cover both their eyes. That way it will make no difference if the women are winking, blinking or, heaven forbid, naked.

Good idea, no? You’re welcome.

Imagine that you are all that is standing between them and danger, when you look over and see a grown man verbally abusing them. With no thought for yourself, you step up to the plate and inform this man in no uncertain terms that he needs to check himself. Now is not the time for you to think about the language that you are using. You are direct and to the point. When he threatens to hit you if you swear again, you square your shoulders and call his bluff. Then the unthinkable happens. In front of his children and the family that you were protecting, he viciously physically assaults you. As you lie there unconscious no one but the little girl that you rushed to protect comes to your aid.....a busy packed McDonalds has just witnessed a grown black man repeatedly punch a young black woman, and no one, not a single person intervenes.

“Would you carry my bag out to the car?” she said. I took the suitcase to the cab, then returned to assist the woman.

“Could you drive through downtown?”

“It’s not the shortest way,” I answered quickly.

“Oh, I don’t mind,” she said. “I’m in no hurry. I’m on my way to a hospice.”

For the next two hours, we drove through the city. She showed me the building where she had once worked as an elevator operator. We drove through the neighborhood where she and her husband had lived when they were newlyweds. She had me pull up in front of a furniture warehouse that had once been a ballroom where she had gone dancing as a girl. Sometimes she’d ask me to slow in front of a particular building or corner and would sit staring into the darkness, saying nothing.

“You gave an old woman a little moment of joy,” she said. “Thank you.”

I squeezed her hand, then walked into the dim morning light. Behind me, a door shut. It was the sound of the closing of a life.

A woman was refused the morning-after pill because it was against the pharmacist's religious beliefs.

Ruth Johnson, 30, was refused the emergency contraception by a locum pharmacist at a Tesco supermarket.

She asked an assistant at the chemist counter for the pill Levonelle, but was told it had to be dispensed by the locum himself.

The pharmacist was of Asian origin, so I asked him if it was because of his religion and he replied "yes".'

Ms Johnson, who thought the supermarket service would be more discreet than a local chemist, said she feared for any teenage girls who might be turned away from seeking the morning-after pill.

She added: 'I appreciate we live in a multicultural society, but what gives him the right to impose his beliefs onto me?'

A spokesman for the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB) said: 'The Code of Ethics and Standards does not require a pharmacist to provide a service that is contrary to their religious or moral beliefs.'

Fannie Mae said it will set aside the loan of a woman who shot herself as sheriff's deputies tried to evict her from her foreclosed home.

Addie Polk, 90, of Akron, Ohio, became a symbol of the nation's home mortgage crisis when she was hospitalized after shooting herself at least twice in the upper body Wednesday afternoon.

On Friday, Fannie Mae spokesman Brian Faith said the mortgage association had decided to halt action against Polk and sign the property "outright" to her.

"We're going to forgive whatever outstanding balance she had on the loan and give her the house," Faith said. "Given the circumstances, we think it's appropriate."

Residents of Akron have rallied behind Polk, who is being treated at Akron General Medical Center. She was listed in critical condition Friday afternoon

U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, mentioned Polk on the House floor Friday during debate over the latest economic rescue proposal.

A Saskatchewan woman has won a precedent-setting lawsuit against the drug dealer who sold her a near-fatal overdose of crystal meth.

Sandy Bergen, 23, accused her former kindergarten classmate, Clinton Davey, of selling her the drug in the town of Biggar, Sask., in 2004. In her statement of claim, she said Mr. Davey knew the drug was highly addictive and harmful, and sold it not only for profit, but to intentionally inflict physical and mental suffering.

She also named as a defendant the unknown John Doe who supplied Mr. Davey with his drugs. When Mr. Davey refused to reveal the name of his supplier during the pretrial discovery process - and faced the threat of a contempt-of-court charge - he consented to have his statement of defence struck, effectively admitting his liability and handing victory to Ms. Bergen.

Another hearing will be held to determine how much she will be awarded in damages.

When the case returns to court, she will be seeking damages in excess of $50,000

Woman’s Paper Skin a Walking Notepad

For this Chinese woman who suffers from a condition called artificial urticaria, her skin has served as a notebook for all the years of her life.

This strange medical anomaly has no ill effects, but most agree that it is very weird.

Huang Xiangji is a 50-year-old woman from Chengdu who uses her skin like writing paper.

Huang claims that when she writes a word on her skin by using her fingernail, the letters protrude from her skin a moment later.

“I used my body as a notebook for years,” says Huang.

Even as a child, she was able to do this and she would often create shopping lists on her arm before going out to the stores. (That’s one list you can’t misplace!)
