No. #1) The use of the term: "Afghan coalition forces."
Other stories say: "NATO forces."

In reality, if this was done it was done by USA troops but like in Iraq they say "Coalition Forces," when there is no real coalition: There are approx 158,000 USA troops, 140,000 USA paid mercenaries and 'private security contractors,' 3 troops from Latvia, 11 soldiers from Moldova, , 37 fine men from the Ukraine, 40 soldiers from Estonia, 70 fighting Albanians, etc. -- all of them pressured or bribed to participate except for Merry Old England with 5,500 approx. troops, loyal Australia with 900 -- (& 2,000 Georgians now gone). Some "coalition."

No. #2) Who is this soldier? Since he appears to have a M-16 is he American? Where are his identifying patches? Why face hidden?

Thus, in fact, thus, he's an 'unlawful enemy combatant." This is a sad and tragic photo for a U.S. fighting man. Looks like the KKK

Claim: Afghan coalition forces kill 20 in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) -- Coalition forces crossed the border from Afghanistan into Pakistan early Wednesday and carried out a raid which killed at least 20 civilians, according to a local leader.

Officials with the U.S.-led coalition in Afghanistan said they were not aware of such an incident.

Their behavior was in violation of their orders, international law, and the civilized values of the United States. Far from apologizing for these atrocities or attempting to make amends, the United States government has in the past five years added insult to injury.

It has become pro forma to invoke God's blessing on the US after all speeches. Little thought is given to the substantial segment of the population who doesn't subscribe to this viewpoint. A cynic might think all the public posturing is being done solely for votes. And they may not be too far off the mark.

Democrats' Religious Pandering Doesn't Impress

Recent efforts by Democrats to pander to religion and religious believers is offensive and immoral, but could it possibly be defended on the grounds that it at least works? In politics that which works tend to survive no matter how offensive or immoral it is, so this isn't an irrelevant question. Unfortunately for the apologists for pandering — and fortunately for the rest of us — all the efforts thus far appear to have been in vain.

Using religion as a surrogate for substantive political discussion is precisely what's going on when people start bringing religion into political debates

When a person says that God "wills" some policy, the only options left are to deny that it's what God really wills or to declare one's opposition to God.

I think this is often deliberate because invoking God is a handy way of avoiding the hard job of substantively defending a political agenda.

In 2006, the Interior Department estimated that about 85.9 billion barrels of “undiscovered technically recoverable” oil sits offshore on the Outer Continental Shelf within U.S. territory.

In 2007, the Energy Department’s “Task Force on Strategic Unconventional Fuels” reported that: “America’s oil shale resource exceeds 2 trillion barrels

as much as 800 billion barrels of oil equivalent could be recoverable from oil shale resources

This combined 885.9 billion barrels of recoverable oil that the government estimates lies undeveloped within U.S. territory is almost three and a half times as much as the 260 billion barrels in proven oil reserves that lie under Saudi territory.

Unless Congress enacts a new law banning offshore leases and oil-shale leases, Interior can legally start selling these leases on Oct. 1.

Sill Officials Force Mold Whistleblower to Resign

"Purely coincidental." Guess the guy just had it coming, huh?

"They can say whatever they want to say, but they're not being truthful," Roeder said. "I stand up for soldiers. I'm sure the word got out that I'd encouraged soldiers to speak."

Roeder, a retired soldier, said he was told to resign or he would be fired.

A long time ago, I would have erred on the side of the Army and its professional leadership. But not after the past half decade or so. Given its recent track record, I think the Army has to answer for this one: Why are we punishing people for trying to improve the lives of soldiers?

On Monday, I wrote about the USA Today piece in which reporter Gregg Zoroya revealed that the Army seemed to be suffering from another barracks maintenance incompetence problem. This time, the issue was mold in the barracks for wounded soldiers at Fort Sill.

Not surprisingly, rather than address the root of the problem, the Army has now forced the whistleblower to resign from his position:

FORT SILL, Okla. - An Army social services coordinator here who told USA Today about poor conditions at Fort Sill's unit for wounded soldiers has been forced out of his job, the employee and base officials said Tuesday.
Soldiers meeting with Army Secretary Pete Geren here Tuesday said Chuck Roeder, 54, was a strong advocate for their problems and should not have been forced to leave.

Of course, the Army denies any connection:
