Love has inspired countless works of art, from immortal plays such as Romeo and Juliet, to architectural masterpieces such as the Taj Mahal, to classic pop songs, like Queen's “Love of My Life”. This raises the obvious question: why is love such a stimulating emotion? Why does the act of falling in love – or at least thinking about love – lead to such a spur of creative productivity?

One possibility is that when we’re in love we actually think differently.

The researchers found that love really does alter our thoughts, and that this profound emotion affects us in a way that is different than simply thinking about sex.

love makes us think differently in that it triggers global processing, which in turn promotes creative thinking and interferes with analytic thinking. Thinking about sex, however, has the opposite effect: it triggers local processing, which in turn promotes analytic thinking and interferes with creativity.

Love makes you creative. Sex makes you analytical.

Two patients are treated for the same illness but only one gets the heart they need. In the upcoming episode of “Three Rivers”, Shiloh Fernandez will guest star as a former drug addict by the name of Scott who has vowed that he has turned his life around. Believing that he has done so, Andy convinces UNOS to give him a new heart.

In the preview, Scott is in love with a girl who is also sick and needs a heart transplant. He gets his heart but the girl is still on the waiting list. The episode called “Good Intentions” will air on Sunday, October 18. “Alone Together” was previously slated to be the third episode of the show, but CBS has made a shift in the schedule and will air “Intentions” instead.

The Military. This undoubtedly is the socialist program most beloved of Republicans. They may be willing to admit that in all other instances government is wasteful, inefficient, and bungling and that it usually fails to solve the problems it sets out to solve while simultaneously creating new ones; but when it comes to the armed forces, suddenly all that skepticism melts away into an infatuation worthy of Romeo and Juliet.

As far as the GOP is concerned, "defense" spending must never be cut, no matter how out of proportion it is to the actual threats our country faces or to the spending of the rest of the world; and one must never, ever criticize the military.

To cut the military’s budget or suggest that it might be just as wasteful, inefficient, and bungling as the rest of the government is to "hate the troops" and to "blame America first."

All other government programs are fair game for cutting and criticism, but the military is sacrosanct.

"I live the Amish life -- I don't need to read about it," said Mrs. Smoker, who is the sister of store owner Rachel Esh. From what her friends tell her, she added, the books "aren't quite true to life."

While there are no religious strictures against contemporary novels, the church has traditionally viewed fiction as distracting and deceitful, says Donald Kraybill, a senior fellow at the Young Center for Anabaptist and Pietist Studies, a religious studies center at Elizabethtown College.

She ushered the crowd of 40 people swarming in front of her cash register into a line that snaked out the door of Rachel's Country Store. The cause of the commotion: novelist Cindy Woodsmall, who had stopped by to autograph books.

The plot of 'When the Heart Cries,' revolves around Hannah, a young Amish woman who falls in love with a Mennonite and hides her plans to marry him from her strict parents. The lovers kiss a couple of times in 326 pages.

Most bonnet books are G-rated romances, often involving an Amish character who falls for an outsider.

Publishers attribute the books' popularity to their pastoral settings and forbidden love scenarios à la Romeo and Juliet.

Lately, the genre has expanded to include Amish thrillers and murder mysteries.

Edward on Wuthering Heights: "The characters are ghastly people who ruin each others' lives. I don't know how Heathcliff and Cathy ended up being ranked with couples like Romeo and Juliet or Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy. It isn't a love story, it's a hate story."

Bella: "Well, I hope you're smart enough to stay away from someone so selfish. Catherine is really the source of all the trouble, not Heathcliff."

I don't know what makes me sicker: the fact that Bella's hellbent on going to see Jacob, whose heart she shredded into itty bitty pieces the last time she saw him, or that Edward's so high-handed about preventing her. Or that Bella forgives him, like, instantly.

For the next three pages, Bella waxes pathetic about Romeo and Juliet, in an attempt to justify settling for Jacob. She’s never going to find another person she loves as much as Edward, ever ever ever. So she may as well shack up with the first rebound she comes to. And being with Jacob would make him happy, and she doesn’t want him to be unhappy, so that makes it all right. Right?

I remembered wishing that Jacob were my brother. I realized now that all I really wanted was a claim on him.

I could stake a claim. I had that much within my power.

The chapter starts off with a dream Bella has about being a wrinkly gross old lady and Edward wishing her happy birthday. Old people are disgusting! Bella wakes up and we learn that it is, in fact, her birthday. We are treated to 30 pages of her waxing pathetic about how old she is now that she’s 18 and how unfair it is that Edward hasn’t bitten her yet.

I folded my arms, and made no move to get out of the rain. “It’s my birthday, don’t I get to drive?”

“I’m pretending it’s not your birthday, just as you wished.”

They watch Romeo and Juliet. Edward bitches about what an idiot Romeo is. I find Smeyer’s attempts at irony rather pathetic.

Bella asks, hopefully, if Charlie wants her to stay home for her birthday, and he replies that there’s a Mariners game today so he won’t be good company.

Woman stabs lover, sets wedding date

A woman who knifed her lover after he was caught with his pants down with her best friend has had a change of heart — and is now ready to marry him.

Candy Lyons, 38, from Britain, can start preparing for the wedding because she has been spared jail after plunging a carving knife into the back of boyfriend-turned-fiancé Robert Goldthorpe.

Lyons said she was drunk when she attacked Mr Goldthorpe, who was caught in a compromising position with her friend on March 8 this year, the Daily Mail reports.

Lyons was given a suspended one-year jail term after admitting wounding Mr Goldthorpe.

"We weren't allowed to see each other for three-and-a-half months — it was like Romeo and Juliet, we still loved each other," Lyons was quoted as saying.

"Rob kept ringing me … and said he loved me," Lyons said.

Lyons said Mr Goldthorpe proposed after she was released on bail.
