Sessions because Senators and Representatives on both sides of the aisle have been lining up for the past several weeks now to give short term "free rides" on duties for manufacturers in their states. The are all defended on the grounds that these are only temporary reductions and not a big give away. Grin. You place your orders for the material you need for the next six months to fit in the window of the "temporary" give back and it gives you a free ride for six months - sometimes even a year. Pretty slick eh? Not any more, now you know about this innocent appearing pay back scheme.

How big it is? In $ II could not say but there have been more than 200 of these bills introduced in the last few weeks - that's big. But they can decide on healthcare til the end of the your or more - gimme a break!

Have TV3 been used to launch a political campaign to regulate vitamins as drugs?

TV3’s Wednesday night screening of Inside New Zealand posed the question “Are Vitamins Killing You”. The program viewed more like a propaganda piece, with an intentional political campaign to make Vitamins prescription only drugs. The programs main authority, Professor Jackson, stated this was an exercise to help convince the public and, in Jacksons own words "the powers that be", that dietary supplements should be regulated as medical drugs.

“If nutritional supplements are allegedly killing us, as Professor Jackson and his colleagues suggest, then where are the dead bodies? “ asks Ms Grace.

“In stark contrast, death by Doctor through medical misadventure and properly prescribed drugs is 3 times higher than the road toll in NZ, consistent with most other western industrial countries, a point this program also failed to mention“ states Ms Grace.

Anita Dunn currently serves as President Obama's interim White House communications director. She also previously helped on his election campaign and was once featured on a 60 Minutes segment as one of Obama's top four advisors. Recently Dunn has become the mouthpiece for the administration's attacks on the Fox News Channel, saying it often operates almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party.

A conservative media watchdog doesn't think it is appropriate for a member of President Obama's administration to refer to Mao Tse Tung as one of her favorite political philosophers.

However, earlier this month Fox's Glenn Beck played a clip of a speech Dunn made on June 5 to students at St. Andrews Episcopal School of Potomac, Maryland.

HOFFMAN: SCOZZAFAVA IS 'A TURNCOAT'

Sen. Charles E. Schumer, D-N.Y., was among those who urged Dierdre K. Scozzafava to endorse Democratic congressional candidate William L. Owens, the senator's spokesman said Saturday.

the senator called a number of north country political leaders after Ms. Scozzafava suspended her campaign and had more than one conversation with the Republican candidate ahead of her announcement. He said the senator also called other Democratic leaders about the situation, including White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel.

Mr. Owens said he was “honored” by the endorsement.

“This afternoon Dede Scozzafava betrayed the GOP,“ Senior Communications Advisor Rob Ryan said in a statement. “She endorsed a Pelosi Democrat who will spend more, tax more, and push the liberal agenda that is dragging down this nation.”

The same thing will happen to Obama if and when he loses the election in 2012. Since narcissists in power keep people around them in a constant state of fear -- everybody gets targeted and feels insecure -- you can expect a ton of dirty tricks in elections to come. But then Democrats constantly use dirty tricks.

I fear two things with Obama. One is if the GOP fails to elect a House majority in 2010 to keep Obama within the bounds of sanity. A GOP majority is essential for the safety of the country and the world. But even if Obama is defeated in 2012, he will just turn into an angrier version of Al Gore and Jimmy Carter. He will haunt the political future of this country as long as he is alive, because that famished ego never gets enough. Malignant narcissism often gets worse over time.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - A new political effort is afoot to reform to the NCAA Bowl Championship Series. Playoff PAC, a federal political action committee, was launched Monday by six men bound together by law school ties or work on Sen. John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign.

The new organization is "dedicated to establishing a competitive post-season championship for college football," according to a statement posted on the PAC's Web site www.playoffpac.com.

So when Communications Commissar Mao Ze Dunn starts berating Fox News for not getting into the same Maosketeer costumes as the rest of the press corps, you begin to see why the Chairman might appeal to her as a favorite "political philosopher". So the troika of Dunn, Emanuel and Axelrod were dispatched to the Sunday talk shows to lay down the law. We all know the lines from "The Untouchables" " "the Chicago way," don't bring a knife to a gunfight " and, given the pay czar's instant contract-gutting of executive compensation and the demonization of the health insurers and much else, it's easy to look on the 44th president as an old-style Cook County operator: You wanna do business in this town, you gotta do it through me.

It gives off the air of somebody only marginally less paranoid than this week's president-for-life in some basket-case banana republic ranting on the palace balcony because his interior security chief isn't doing a fast-enough job of disappearing his enemies.

At a superficial level, this looks tough. A famously fair-minded centrist told me the other day that he'd been taken aback by some of the near parodic examples of Leftie radicalism discovered in the White House in recent weeks.

With outraged Washington journalists and Republican politicians crying "Nixonian!" over the public scuffle between the Obama White House and the Fox News Channel, what began as a mundane spat is turning into a cosmic jest. Somewhere, Nixon himself is enjoying a mordant laugh to hear this shrill defense of his old servant Roger Ailes, the television wizard whose deceptive campaigning ushered him into the presidency more than 40 years ago -- and who then became the living symbol of everything negative and nasty in American politics during the two decades that followed.

To understand what is going on today, it is essential to remember that where Ailes came from, "Nixonian" was not an insult but a badge of honor -- and seething hatred and even persecution of the press, rather than mere criticism, was a way of life.

The White House’s extraordinary assault on the Fox News Channel will end in tears – and not for Rupert Murdoch

As Anita Dunn, the Mao-quoting White House communications director put it in an interview with The New York Times:

“We’re going to treat them the way we would treat an opponent. As they are undertaking a war against Barack Obama and the White House, we don’t need to pretend that this is the way that legitimate news organizations behave.”

As Dunn’s statement illustrates, this is an overtly political campaign – and one that is doomed to failure

It smacks of mean-spiritedness as well as desperation, and is an approach that is already backfiring, with Fox’s ratings receiving an added boost from the huge publicity.

Fox News is succeeding in America precisely because it is not afraid to challenge the status quo

going against the grain of the dominant liberal networks, NBC, CBS and ABC

in a nation where conservatives are still the largest ideological group according to Gallup
