PepsiCo gives $500,000 to promote the gay agenda in workplace

Despite the fact that 30 states have passed constitutional amendments defining marriage as being between a man and a woman, Pepsi continues to support the efforts by same-sex groups pushing for homosexual marriage.

Company ignores two requests from AFA to discuss Pepsi's support of gay groups.

Pepsi has a long tradition of financial support for homosexual groups. According to Jacqueline Millan, director of PepsiCo Corporate Contributions, "We are delighted to continue our partnership with PFLAG...(in) promoting the necessary message of inclusion to untapped groups...and that is a crucial step toward building a healthy working environment."

Pepsi has given Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) a half-million dollars to help push the homosexual agenda in the workplace. PFLAG is a political advocacy group that promotes radical homosexual political causes like same-sex marriage, hate-crime laws, and gay adoption.

"Better" never works in marketing. The only thing that works in marketing is "different." When you're different, you can pre-empt the concept in consumers' minds so your competitors can never take it away from you.

The sad fact is that there are only a few dozen brands that own a word in the mind and most of them don't even use their words as slogans. Mercedes-Benz owns "prestige," but doesn't use the word as a slogan. Toyota owns "reliability," but doesn't use the word as a slogan. Coca-Cola owns "the real thing," but doesn't use the words as a slogan. Pepsi-Cola owns "Pepsi generation," but doesn't use the words as a slogan.

There is a request going around in our area asking for plastic bottle caps of any kind — water bottles, soda, laundry detergent, etc. Supposedly, if you save 1,500 of these caps, someone is entitled to a free chemo treatment.

I have heard about collecting bottle caps for cancer patients. Apparently, for every 1,000 caps collected, a patient can receive a chemotherapy treatment.

I have been asked to collect used bottle caps from plastic bottles (pepsi and coke). I was told that these caps are given to chemo patients who are uninsured for chemo treatment. They are supposed to receive one minute of free chemo for one bottle cap.

Venezuela shuts down McDonald's

Venezuela's government has shut all branches of restaurant chain McDonald's for 48 hours, citing tax irregularities, officials have said.

The head of the country's tax agency, Jose David Cabello, said the chain had inconsistencies in its accounts.

The 115 branches in Venezuela were closed from Thursday to Saturday.

Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez is a fierce US critic and last month was at the heart of tit-for-tat US-Latin American diplomatic expulsions.

Oil battle

Since winning elections 10 years ago, Mr Chavez has increased taxes and often temporarily shuts firms accused of failing to pay.

The government recently temporarily closed the offices of Pepsi, which is operated by a local consortium.

Mr Chavez has also taken on US oil firms, nationalising their Venezuelan operations and pursuing a legal battle with Exxon Mobil.

clipper's remarks: I love this. Chavez is no saint as he has a poor record in terms of domestic political repression. However, lets give credit where credit is due. Shutting down McDonalds even for just a few days is a powerful act against one of the worst corporations on this planet.

The fact that Chavez shut down Pepsi earlier this year is great as well.

Can anyone imagine what would happen in the USofA if Bush/Congress did the same thing. Boy would you say riots in the streets.

The video above has been making the rounds all day. It shows Catholic priests and pro-life demonstrators being arrested outside the Pepsi Center in Denver.

The protesting group marched across Cherry Creek to Auraria Parkway, which was barricaded as an entrance into the Pepsi Center grounds. As police denied them entrance, about a dozen people sat down on the pavement and began to pray.

"A vote for Obama and Biden is a vote to sustain legalized child killing," Terry shouted. "The police are enforcing the laws of obstructing traffic yet they won't enforce the laws against the killing of children."

"I chose to come and pray as a witness to the sanctity of life," he said. "But I choose not to be arrested because of other responsibilities I have in my parish."

Fr. Tom Carzon, also of Holy Ghost Church, said he also was concerned about duties at the parish, adding jokingly, "I don't have coverage for the weekend."

"This isn't a political protest. This is a human issue, a civil rights issue."

3,000 Vets, War Protesters Hand-Deliver Their Message

DNEVER - "Follow Us. Welcome to Denver," read the electronic sign on the police vehicle.

While some feared police would attempt to stop the march, officers surprised the group by escorting the protesters through city streets, redirecting traffic and pedestrians along the way. And with that conciliatory gesture, an unpermitted march for peace was allowed to proceed Wednesday afternoon through downtown Denver streets - peacefully.

It was easily the largest demonstration in a week filled with them.

After about an hourlong standoff with police at the end of the march, contact was made with an Obama aide. Mission accomplished.
