Not only the policies but the attitude of superiority and entitlement that Bush brought has spilled over into so much of our lives that the destruction he has wrought will be felt for a very long time.

Eight years ago, the United States had a budget surplus, peace and prosperity reigned, and America was universally respected. True, Bill Clinton had besmirched the office of the presidency

But that pales in comparison to what Bush has done to the country.

"I will seize the opportunity to achieve big goals," Bush told Bob Woodward back in 2001. But now, in his fourth book on the Bush presidency, "The War Within," Woodward concludes that in the last eight years Bush has "displayed impatience, bravado, and unsettling personal certainty about his decisions. The result has too often been impulsiveness and carelessness, and, perhaps most troubling, a delayed reaction to realities and advice that run counter to his gut. . . . By his own ambitious goals of 2001, Bush has fallen short."

When you think of Bush and his team, it's hard to believe so much harm could be done to so many by so few.

Drishti

Drishti is a point of focus where the gaze rests during asana and meditation practice. Focusing on a drishti aids concentration, since it is easier to become distracted when the eyes are wandering all over the room. Each yoga pose has a specific drishti, which also aids in alignment.

Even though a drishti can be described as a fixed gaze, the eyes should always stay soft, never straining.

Examples: In Downward Facing Dog, the drishti is your navel.

is that no matter how much interest Iran shows

the fireworks at disneyland go off at 9:30 on most nights. apparently when u get tons of money for a private paty u get fireworks at 11:30 pm. on a sunday! we thought an explosion went off over there! (we live real close) when the fireworks go off normally they always start small and then esclate. last night it was just BOOM BOOM! and it was very late. most people im sure were in bed getting ready for a tedious work week to try to pay off a home that they may lose, but not miley. she got a fourth of july worthy fireworks show and so did thousands of anaheim residents who had no idea it was coming. love your site..peace!…kevin in anaheim

It is the same sort of victory we are experiencing in Iraq. The democrats and the mainstream media are so unfamiliar with the concept of "victory" they can't recognize it. It is the kind of victory liberal democrats would never achieve, because it takes courage, foresight, and patient fortitude - - all qualities they lack. I believe only President Bush was capable of taking the war to the enemy, and seeing it through. History will be very good to him.

Taliban leaders are holding Saudi-brokered talks with the Afghan government to end the country's bloody conflict -- and are severing their ties with al Qaeda,

According to the source, fugitive Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar -- high on the U.S. military's most-wanted list -- was not present, but his representatives were keen to stress the reclusive cleric is no longer allied to al Qaeda.

Details of the Taliban leader's split with al Qaeda have never been made public before, but the new claims confirm what another source with an intimate knowledge of the militia and Mullah Omar has told CNN in the past.

The current round of talks, said to have been taken two years of intense behind-the-scenes negotiations to come to fruition, is anticipated to be the first step in a long process to secure a negotiated end to the conflict.

Veteran peace activist Fredrik S. Heffermehl, thinks that most of the Nobel Peace Prizes that have been given conflict with Alfred Nobel’s will and testament.

Al Gore and the Panel on Climate Change, Muhammad Yunus, Wangari Maathai, Shirin Ebadi, Mohamed El-Baradei and the International Atomic Energy Agency - IAEA are among the many awards which Heffermehl think conflict with Nobel’s wishes.

"Disarmament and anti-militarism was what Nobel wanted to promote," says Heffermehl to Aftenposten’s English Desk.

In his book Nobels vilje (Nobel’s Will), analyses all the 118 Peace Prizes which have been awarded from 1901 until 2007. Up to 1940 some 85 percent of the prizes were in accordance with Nobel’s wishes. Since the Second World War a mere 45 percent make the grade. Only one of the prizes given during the last seven years fit Nobel's criteria.

The signatories had been charged

so they "fled and went to the government for fear of follow-up and prosecution by the justice movement".

Arab League to meet over Sudan ICC issue

clipper's remarks: Sudan’s appointment of a special prosecutor was seen as concession that would provide leverage to the Arab League and African Union (AU) when requesting a resolution from the UN Security Council (UNSC) deferring Al-Bashir’s indictment under Article 16 of the ICC Statute.

Sabdarat said today that the prosecutions have made some progress with some suspects in detention and being investigated.

He also lashed out at Ocampo saying that he crossed his limits as a prosecutor by discussing his case on “satellite TV’s”.

The ICC Pre-Trial Chamber I headed held a closed meeting with Ocampo this week regarding his application for the first time. It is expected that they may take up to three months to issue a decision.

Sudan has not ratified the Rome Statute, but the UNSC triggered the provisions under the Statute that enables it to refer situations in non-State parties to the world court if it deems that it is a threat to international peace and security.

Sudan official news agency (SUNA) quoted justice minister Abdel-Basit Sabdarat as saying that the Arab League proposal to resolve the crisis is proceeding as planned. He also welcomed the meeting by Arab justice ministers.

The ICC’s prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo filed 10 charges: three counts of genocide, five of crimes against humanity and two of murder. It was only last week that judges have started reviewing the case in a process that could possibly drag on to next year.

He was the very bottom of his class (so he didn't learn it there), he crash three jets during peace-time (so he didn't learn it there), the explosion on the carrier was actually his panicking and dropping his bombs into a fire on the deck (so he didn't learn it there), he was downed and became a POW (so he didn't learn it there), the war he was in was Vietnam, the only war the U.S. ever lost (so he didn't learn it there). So where exactly did McCain acquire this great ability to "win a war?" I don't see it!

Three crashes early in his career led Navy officials to question or fault his judgment.

John McCain was training in his AD-6 Skyraider on an overcast Texas morning in 1960 when he slammed into Corpus Christi Bay and sheared the skin off his plane's wings.

McCain recounted the accident decades later in his autobiography. "The engine quit while I was practicing landings," he wrote. But an investigation board at the Naval Aviation Safety Center found no evidence of engine failure.

The crash was one of three early in McCain's aviation career in which his flying skills and judgment were faulted or questioned by Navy officials.

In his most serious lapse, McCain was "clowning" around in a Skyraider over southern Spain about December 1961 and flew into electrical wires
