Karl Marx's seminal anti-capitalist tome Das Kapital is to be reincarnated as a Japanese manga comic.

Das Kapital, the manga version, is due to hit bookstores across Japan next month with its complex ideas ambitiously repackaged into digestible comic format.

The appearance of the famous economic treatise in the form of a comic is the latest sign of a resurgence of leftwing literature in Japan as the world's second largest economy sinks into recession.

The rise of part-time workers and increasing erosion of financial security have fuelled a boom in Communist Party membership in Japan along with a fashionable revival of anti-capitalist literature.

East Press the Tokyo-based publishing company which will publish the comic version Das Kapital on December 5 also released a manga version of Kanikosen last year, resulting in sales of more than 200,000

When it comes to policy, Millennials are liberal interventionists on economic issues, active multilateralists in foreign affairs and tolerant non-meddlers on social issues-a profile that most closely matches the Democratic Party's platform as well as the new President's agenda.

Their propensity to vote straight Democratic was clearly evident in 2008 when young voters supported Democratic congressional candidates by about the same margin that they did Obama (63% vs. 34%).

The first large wave of the Millennial Generation, about one third of the young Americans born from 1982-2003, entered the electorate to decisively support President-elect Barack Obama. Young voters preferred Obama over John McCain by a greater than 2:1 margin (66% vs. 32%).

Dispelling the myth that young people never vote, Millennials cast ballots in larger numbers than young voters had in any recent presidential election. About 23 million young people, an increase of 3.4 million over 2004, accounted for almost two-thirds of the overall 5.4 million increase in voter turnout.

Republican Internet guru Patrick Ruffini pointed out that without Millennials, Obama would not have won the combined 73 electoral votes of Florida, Indiana, Ohio, and North Carolina.

Millennials are every bit as supportive of the Democratic Party as they are of Obama personally.

More of them consider themselves liberals rather than conservatives (31% to 18%)

BERLIN — The Green Party, one of Germany’s main political parties, has elected the son of Turkish immigrants to its top political post, the first time any party here has chosen a leader with an ethnic Turkish background.

The election of Cem Ozdemir, 42, on Saturday represents a major turning point not only for the opposition Greens, but also for the country as a whole. He was born in southern Germany of parents who came from Turkey to work as gastarbeiter, or guest workers, during the 1960s.

Even though more than 2.6 million Turks live in Germany, accounting for 3 percent of the population, few have managed to make it to the higher ranks of many professions, including politics and the civil service.

As the Governors’ Association meeting in Miami this week suggests, the Republican Party in defeat faces an acute identity crisis. If they try to move in the direction of the successful Eisenhower presidency, making themselves a common sense, problem-solving party, they would probably precipitate the formation of a breakaway third party representing the religious right, perhaps called the Christian Party.

The current Republican excitement over Sarah Palin suggests, however, they may choose to continue on the course set by George W. Bush. Palin holds multiple wacky religious opinions: creationism (Genesis read literally); the imminent end of time and the coming of the Rapture (the saved suddenly wooshed up to Heaven); and a belief she won her race for governor of Alaska because of a laying on of hands by an African clergyman noted for chasing a witch out of town for causing automobile crashes. She now says that she is waiting for God to tell her whether to run in 2012.

Umno vice-president Mohd Ali Rustam once again reiterated that the party must take control of the government to ensure Umno policies, especially the New Economic Policy (NEP), are being implemented effectively at all levels across the nation.

Mohd Ali said currently many Umno approved policies and plans could not be implemented with desired results due to lack of conviction at the federal government level.

He said the current political landscape in which the government acting freely from the party control does not augur well for Umno and the Barisan Nasional.

Of course this is how the how media elites have treated Limbaugh for years; he's not a hate merchant, he's an engaging entertainer. He's not hack, he's influential. Resort plans nude "anything goes" party

CANBERRA (Reuters) - An Australian holiday resort will hold a month-long, nude "anything goes" party to combat an expected economic downturn, media reports said on Thursday.

"Tough economic times call for stiff measures,"

"It will be a hedonism resort, where anything goes for a month. It doesn't take rocket science to work out what it means," Fox said, naming March as the risque party month.

The controversial "clothes optional" resort made headlines three years ago when police were called to end partner-swapping parties after a swathe of public complaints.

"You've got to wonder what sort of people go and why. Where is the moral code of behavior and how do you stop jealousies and fights?"

But local regional Mayor Val Schier said she was not opposed to the event as long as no laws were broken.

Fox said his resort was almost fully booked for the month-long rainforest party.
