clipper's remarks: Kowalski is a musician, he uses youtube and MySpace to post videos, hoping someone will listen to its message. One man trying to make a difference on humanity. Human existence and life as we know it is limited by the actions of those in power.

Our children need hope and a purpose ...some like Kowalski use their talents to bring awareness on these issues at hand. This is his purpose and the only way we can help is to make it our purpose also.

My brothers and I shot this video a year before this place became a world memory center. It was around 3pm, smoke break for some WTC workers, my brothers danced. The airport scenes are from September 11, 2000. I droped some atmosphere sounds on top.

I wrote and performed/edited this song and shot the red shirt video two years ago, the blue/green shirt video was 8 years ago shot by my brothers and Spitz. "Anti-bin laden" was in between sometime. I spliced them all together and split screened them in a "24" type fashion. I was trying to vent some of my frustrations about the misguided few.

When killing begins, religion ends.

Enjoy the present moment, it's a gift.

43 California companies get perfect score on GLBT ranking

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation rated 583 companies on a scale of 0 to 100, and on Tuesday said 259 received a perfect score. That’s up from 195 last year. The Washington, D.C.-based organization has been tracking how gay-friendly corporate America is since 2002.

Iranian Jewish community wants an end to Israeli crimes

TEHRAN, May 22, The Iranian Jewish MP Morris Motamed condemns the recent Israeli violence against the Palestinians and calls for an immediate halt to these crimes.

He says: "The Iranian Jewish community sympathizes with the Palestinian nation and declares its abhorrence of the recent violence and the murder of Palestinians and destruction of their houses and official offices by the Israeli regime and calls for intervention by human rights organizations to stop these crimes and prevent more damage to the Palestinians’ infrastructure and to ensure that this oppressed nation regain their inalienable rights."

Parliament Speaker Haddad-Adel also expressed appreciation to Iranian Jews for the statement and condemned the Zionist crimes against the Palestinians.

First reported by the Los Angeles Times, Meyer posted a message about the leak to fans on her Web site last Thursday. "I think it is important for everybody to understand that what happened was a huge violation of my rights as an author, not to mention me as a human being," wrote Meyer. "As the author of the Twilight Saga, I control the copyright and it is up to the owner of the copyright to decide when the books should be made public."

Yevloyev's website is said to be one of the most visited for Ingush news

Security forces in Russia's volatile Ingushetia region are reported to have broken up an anti-government protest in the main city of Nazran.

The protest started during the funeral of Magomed Yevloyev, the owner of an opposition website who died after being shot in police custody.

Reports said protesters were dispersed by baton-wielding officers.

But an Ingushetia interior ministry official denied the police had forced the demonstrators to leave.

Magomed Mutsolgov, from human rights group Mashr, said police officers arrived early in the morning to disperse a crowd of about 50 men in the main square in Nazran.

Police and military vehicles were then deployed to block access to the main square, he added.

His account tallied with a report on Russian Ren TV from one of its correspondents in the city.

Mr Yevloyev was arrested and later shot after getting off the same flight as the local, Kremlin-backed leader two days ago.

Hacker appeals to home secretary

Lawyers for a Briton accused of hacking into secret military and Nasa computers are asking the home secretary to ensure he is not jailed in the US.

Glasgow-born Gary McKinnon, 42, who last month lost his appeal against extradition, could face life in jail if convicted of accessing 97 computers.

Unemployed Mr McKinnon, from Wood Green, north London, was said to be "distraught" after losing his extradition appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.

During this season of electoral politics in the United States, I find it very challenging to keep a focus on the critical task of healing the wounds of our nation. Barack Obama is certainly one of the best orators I've heard in a long time. For me, he is the hands down choice for president over McCain . However, amidst the fanfare and celebration of the Democratic Convention, my heart was deeply troubled and my soul was crying out on behalf of the civilian casualties of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. These innocent victims are deemed to be 'collateral damage.' Last week, newscasts reported that ninety civilians died in Afghanistan due to American bombings--sixty of them were children. We heard this information sandwiched in between the roar and celebration of the Convention without a moment to pause in mourning.

The world's biggest and most expensive scientific experiment has been hit by a last minute legal challenge, amid claims that the research could bring about the end of the world.

Critics of the Large Hadron Collider - a £4.4 billion machine due to be switched on in ten days time - have lodged a lawsuit at the European Court for Human Rights against the 20 countries, including the UK, that fund the project.

The device is designed to replicate conditions that existed just a fraction of a second after the Big Bang, and its creators hope it will unlock the secrets of how the universe began.

However, opponents fear the machine, which will smash pieces of atoms together at high speed and generate temperatures of more than a trillion degrees centigrade, may create a mini-black hole that could tear the earth apart.

CERN itself has admitted that mini black holes could be created when the particles collide, but they don't consider this a risk.

T here is a tremendous consensus in the scientific community about when life begins. This is hardly controversial. If the claim were made that life was discovered on another planet, for example, there are well-defined criteria to which we could refer to conclusively determine whether the claim was accurate. How do scientists distinguish between life and non-life?

A scientific textbook called “Basics of Biology” gives five characteristics of living things; these five criteria are found in all modern elementary scientific textbooks:

1. Living things are highly organized.

2. All living things have an ability to acquire materials and energy.

3. All living things have an ability to respond to their environment.

Pictures 'show Georgia torching'

Satellite images have confirmed that ethnic Georgian villages inside South Ossetia have been deliberately burned, US-based Human Rights Watch says.

It said analysis by UN experts showed the damage "was caused by intentional burning and not armed combat".

The group said this was evidence of war crimes and urged Russia to prosecute those responsible.

The satellite images show active fires in five ethnic Georgian villages around the South Ossetian capital, Tskhinvali, on on 10, 12, 13, 17, 19 and 22 August - well after active hostilities ended in the area on 10 August, Human Rights Watch said.

"The images strongly indicate that the majority of the destruction in five of the villages - Tamarasheni, Kekhvi, Kvemo Achabeti, Zemo Achabeti, and Kurta - was caused by intentional burning.

Russian prosecutors have announced they are opening criminal cases into the deaths of 133 civilians who they say were killed by Georgian forces.

August 26th, a group of LHC critics filed a suit against CERN in the European Court of Human Rights, in Strasbourg . The authors of the suit are physicists, professors and students largely from Germany and Austria, who feel that the operation of the $10 billion Large Hadron Collider near Geneva, poses grave risks for the safety and well-being of the 27 member states of the European Union and their citizens.

Rome, Aug 29, 2008 / 03:39 am (CNA).- The undersecretary of the Pontifical Council for the Laity, Guzman Carriquiry Lecour, said in an address this week that human rights are based on natural law and that denying this truth opens the door to relativism.

“What they are trying to do is turn into individual rights that which attacks fundamental human rights of the person.”

During his extensive discourse, he pointed out that 60 years after the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a “relativist derivative” exists in which “new rights are imposed” that stem from the “arbitrary desires” of certain groups or individuals.

“Are we not the witnesses of opinion campaigns and pressure from international powers to foster national legislation to introduce forms of liberalizing abortion and unrestricted bioethical manipulations, of making same-sex unions the equivalent of marriage, of promoting eugenic and euthanasia practices,” Carriquiry said.

Beijing cancels sentence for elderly women

SHANGHAI (Reuters) - Two elderly women have won a reprieve from a sentence to one year in labor camps handed down after they sought permission for a protest during this month's Beijing Olympics, a rights group said.

Human Rights in China said a Beijing municipal committee on August 29 rescinded its decision to sentence Wu Dianyuan, 79, and Wang Xiuying, 77, to a year of "re-education through labor," less than two weeks after the decision was delivered.

The two had applied for permits to demonstrate in officially designated "protest zones" during the Games.

Georgia breaks ties with Russia

Georgia has decided to cut diplomatic ties with Russia, days after Moscow recognised the independence of Georgia's two breakaway regions.

Moscow said the decision "will not help bilateral relations" between the two nations - who had a brief war this month over South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

Reports claim Russia intends to deepen its involvement with the two regions.

Meanwhile, a rights group has said UN satellite images prove ethnic Georgian villages in South Ossetia were torched.

Human Rights Watch says the pictures of five villages near the South Ossetian capital, Tskhinvali, are "compelling evidence of war crimes and grave human rights abuses".

The organisation called on the Russian government to prosecute those responsible.

Georgia had already announced that it would scale back staffing at its Moscow embassy, and that its ambassador - who was withdrawn last month - would not be returning.

But the foreign ministry now says all of its diplomats will return from the Moscow embassy by Saturday.
